    Love the video
    Great knowledge!
    Quick question about
    UMPI
    Liberal arts or General studies degree.
    Are there any requirements besides
    The 30 resident credits?
    Or can you do the rest of the degree with Sophia
    Etc?
    PS
    I was told you automatically get an associate degree with UMPI
    After completing Bachelors
    Degree.
    Is that true?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  3 місяці тому +1

      An associates degree is essentially half of a bachelors degree, but you don’t automatically get it conferred, usually there is a capstone class or some other requirement you’d have to go out of your way to meet. But sometimes they can just be conferred in-passing. And yes, there are other graduation requirements, like upper level hour minimums and total credit minimums!

    New subscriber here. Thanks for this video. I'm a homeschooler and I just finished my classes this year. And I was wondering if a online college like WGU would be willing to accept me as a homeschooler and what kind of transcript (A SAT test, or a transcript from an accredited umbrella homeschool, or my own homemade transcript) can I use to enroll for a degree program? I would appreciate it if anyone would be able to help me out with this situation. Thanks.

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  3 місяці тому +1

      Some schools have your parent/homeschool co-op create transcripts showing the classes you completed and corresponding final grades. Sometimes they have you sign a form saying you promise you graduated high school 😉 Depends on the school, but there’s a way into nearly all of them.

      @@emmanueljmdIt’s either residential, or part of their standard, 8-week courses majors list. It’s not a YourPace program, those are the ones we are mainly focused on 😎 But in general, healthcare prefix classes are rarely hackable, so it becomes a question of outsourcing the free electives and gen eds and then accepting that the major will be completed at the school itself.

    How do I make sure I retain information I’m learning while flying through courses. And are general courses even worth retaining if you’re just gonna focus on other things?
    I personally have not been to any sort of schooling for 8 years so I’m afraid to take a step and getting overwhelmed with schoolwork and not learning anything at all since I don’t think I remember much of what I learned in High School.

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  3 місяці тому

      Flying through and retaining are two different goals. You need to get clear on what your PERSONAL goal is-whether to complete the degree as fast as possible and learn very little, or slow down so that you’re still going much faster than traditional college but giving yourself a chance to learn and retain. Everyone has a different brain and different skills and abilities, so your job is to find the sweet spot in your journey. Start with Sophia so that it’s low cost and low pressure, work through your nerves and fears there, then you’ll be ready to attend the school you’re planning to graduate from.

      Try Liberty University, Edgewood College, and South College! You’ll probably need to apply and send official transcripts for them to do a transfer credit evaluation to see for sure what might transfer, if anything. Good luck! 🤞🏼

      Haven’t looked into it much, but after a quick look, it looks fairly hackable :) “TES is a dynamic, robust library of course equivalencies that UNH CPS has previously accepted, which include not only traditional college courses but also professional licenses, certifications, workplace training, and college-level exams such as CLEP, DSST, AP, Straighterline, Sophia Learning, and more.”

      @@NoRockinMansLandDepends on what you want to do. I would say look into UMPI as they accept a lot of alternative college credits (Sophia, Straighterline, etc). I did American Public University which gets a lot of unnecessary hate because it is a for-profit school though it is regionally accredited which is what matters most. I also got accepted into four different graduate degree programs with my degree. These are the cheaper online schools (there's more if you look) but just so you know you may have to verify that you are proficient in English depending on where you are from.
