Hi Steve, love your videos, just wanted to comment that the ID field need not be added to your form (around 8:00 in your video). It is bound to the record and is automatically updated when a record is added. To see it you will need to Refresh all (or F5) or close and reopen the table.

all of this is great. what I'd love to have your perspective on - would probably be most sensitive between the topic sections - would be the functional places of forms and queries in my company database when I am setting it up for our users. I am not 100% clear on that. Also what type of restrictions I should consider for robustness and persistence etc. I feel you probably have very valuable experience on this matter.

    Dear Steve,
I have been watching several of your videos!
Firstly thank you very much for all the help given through your videos.
I’m having some troubles linking access database to Outlook 2016; my objectives are:
    1. extracting all the email address of the inbox
    2. link access database to Outlook contacts
    3. link access database to Outlook inbox
Can you please help me on these 3 problems?
I would truly appreciate your help.
Thank you in advance for your attention.
    Best regards,
    Jorge

    Hi Steve,
Thanks a lot for the free tutorials! Have been learning so much from them.
I was wondering if you have a video on how to restrict editing and deleting data from Forms and Tables in MS Access depending on the employeetype_ID?
I am creating a database and I am having issues with restricting functionality of users.
    Many thanks in advance...

I've never had issue not binding the primary key in my form. I've tested again with version 2105 and the auto-num seems to work just fine even without id field present.

Steve, trying to be helpful here. I come to watch info about a subject, but what I find is that I am watching you build a form or a table, naming things, writing code line by line complete with errors etc. That stuff is NOT what I want to wade through. I spend 45 minutes out of an hour video watching you build things. I want to learn what the video is named, not how to position a control on a form etc.
