Dolehide rarely makes it through qualifying in big tournaments, and now she’s through to the Semis of a 1000! Wow! I always knew she had a great serve, but seems like she’s gaining confidence and her ground strokes are hit with precision. Let’s see if she can continue this form in 2024

Trevisan was clearly pissy at the end that her grunting wasn’t loud enough to deafen Dolehide.
I've got a perforated eardrum just listening on a PC speaker. I don't know how Dolehide coped with all that shrieking on the actual court.
Finally an new American Player that is not Afraid to Attack on the Net. I like Dolehide offensive gamestyle. Very impressive Win!
CoCo Vandeweghe was like this, but I guess injuries and lack of confidence slow her down...

💕 Love Dolehide's simple demeanour. Congrats Caroline! Trevisan went into this match with a huge ego, thinking she was going to win and continuously *bleeted* loudly, condescendingly smiling when on the FOUR match points which she squandered!! Unbelievable. Sometimes it pays to actually be humble. Thank you Dolehide, and best wishes.
I don't understand this hatred towards Trevisan: perhaps you don't know her well, she doesn't make fun of her opponent, hers is a facial expression that she shows with all her opponents, not just with the Americans, it's a way of being . The only thing that's a little annoying is the scream that accompanies each shot.

Martina Trevisan has some growing up to do. that “handshake” at the end of an amazing match. Dolehide is nothing if not a nice person and fair dinkum competitor.
If you are going to scream on every 🎾, even on your slice shots, you owe at least decent respect to your opponent

PER THE VIDEO Caroline went to hug her coach first and made Martina wait so the handshake was on the fly On Martina's side of the court not at the net as usual. So who is at fault?
What a delicious result! I remember years ago when Caroline peaked in the first set against Halep with her big game.
Awesome result to have her first SF in a masters 1000. She's got such a killer kick serve and exciting aggressive game to watch when on.
Good riddance on Trevisan. She's a fighter too but between the grunt, and the handshakes when she loses, the sarcastic smiling drives me nuts. Dolehide pulled the match of her life to win this.
I watched the entire match (unfortunately) and it was one of the worst matches I've seen in my life. They both deserved to lose, they played like amateurs and it was embarrassing. Women's tennis is just not what it used to be if these players are in masters 1000 quarterfinal

Wow, is this Dolehide's breakthrough tournament! It must be. There is some flair in Trevisan's play that I like, Just how she strikes the Ball and keeps on smiling

You didn't watch a minute of this match. It can't be her breaktrhough because she played one of the worst match I've seen in my life. Both of them did. Don't be fooled by these highlights, they played so badly that they both deserved to lose in my opinion and should go back playing amateur tennis.
Insane match! Both Kenin & Dolehide prevailed in epic 3 set QF matches. Go USA! Dolehide sliced Terrorsan down to size at the Guadalajara abattoir 3-6 7-6 (11-9) 6-3. None of the mental weakness Jabeur displayed. America's got strong bones, fluoride in our water, & bigger serves. We don't balk at the head games crafty players like Trollisan pull on court. We'll make you pay for being a cocky annoyance. That impish smile was wiped off the bleating ewe's face after Dolehide built her way back into the match after being down a set & 4-1. The tiebreaker was insane. After that, Dolehide was dialed in & closed Trevi fountain. USA did what Jabeur failed to do. The seed slayer got weed whacked.
You clearly didn't watch a minute of this match. It was a bad match from both of them, it was like watching an amateur match. They both deserved to lose this match.
@@milvao3400 I watched all of the QF matches. While the others were straight sets wins, Dolehide & Kenin had the better, more exciting matches because of their resiliency & anti-fragility. Especially Dolehide because she was playing from behind for a lot more of her match. They showed the mental toughness, problem solving, & physical conditioning necessary to prevail in their three set matches both of which contained tiebreaks. You conflate straightforward, comprehensive wins with good matches. It's not enough to win with your A-game. The best players find ways to victory even when the chips are down. That's what makes for a great match. The constant shifts in momentum from one player to the other. In the end, the player with greater mental toughness, faster problem solving, & relaxation under pressure wins.

Yeah, it is. Happens to the best of players at least once in a career. This was a great match, thoroughly enjoyable, Both are on my radar now. There will be more from them.

@@charvaka9526 then you must be bllind. They made so many silly mistakes, it was like watching an amateur match. It was entertaining only because you wanted to see who's gonna choke next, but that was not tennis, that was a disaster from both of them... just amateur, itf level or even lower... that's how women's tennis is at the moment, unfortunately.
Martina had a chance to win and blew it for sure. She got her butt kicked in that third set and can't blame anyone else but herself unfortunately.
At least there will be less noise in the semi, Trevisan is absolutly unbearable. No to mention her big smile when the opponent is serving, which could be hard to understand.

The handshake was okay. I do not see a problem. You cannot expect hugs and kisses every match. Be realistic. The on court screaming though is unacceptable.

Why does it take so long to recognize the weakness of your opponent? I mean, coming into this match, Dolehide should have known Trevisan is left handed. It took her a loss in the first set to realize she needed to re-direct her returns to the left because she was playing a lefty. It was a nightmare watching her returning balls using her own weak backhand to Trevisan’s powerful forehand. By the 3rd set, appears her coach had told her where to direct the balls. Trevisan’s backhand is horrible! That’s where to hit the balls to.

Congratulations Dolehide on winning this incredibly difficult match. She deserves this win. She played incredibly good in this match. Match against compatriot Sofia Kenin will not be easy. But perhaps she can defeat her in Semi-final.
The breast reduction worked wonders for her, just like it worked for Halep.

Trevisan should be stopped from this inccessant screaming .itsterrible and has no place in tennis.People are paying money to watch the game not listen to this screaming. Maybe if she channeld the wasted energy into her game she coild be more successful.Coaches need to control this.
This was by far the worst match I've ever seen in my life. What happened to women's tennis? The only fun thing about it was watching the next bad shot from any of the two players. They should have both lost the match. Period.

@@teoc8124 I haven't seen all of them, but this was the worse match I've seen in a really long time, if not the worst ever. It was good in the sense that you couldn't guess who was going to do the next bad shot and therefore who was going to lose, but it was just bad because they were playing bad tennis, both of them. They played like amateurs and these players earn enough money to train properly and not play like this.
