Was stationed at Mildenhall in the early 90s, lived in Lakenheath base housing. I used to ride my bicycle that exact route to work, about 8 miles one way! Of course, it was still an open base at the time so I went down farther to the gate past the Bird in Hand. Loved living there!
I grew up in Beck Row, my dad was stationed at and then retired from RAF Mildenhall. This brings back sooooo many great memories of my old home. Thanks for taking the time to make and post your videos - they are very well done.
I lived it beck row two years We were a family of six. We were the first family to occupy a new dwelling. It was tiny. Measure the roof on Google Earth the bedroom I currently sleeping is bigger than the whole house. I think I'll have a cup of coffee. I can make it in my bedroom snack cart with a refrigerator and microwave on it. So I don't have to walk down 24 stairs oh yeah I have twelve-foot ceilings downstairs.
Thanks for this! I drove that road for six years (98-04) and I still consider Mildenhall my home away from home! Looks like the road between Lords a walk and RAF Lake Heath is back open to thru civilian traffic? There was a gate installed at the roundabout there and the entire road enclosed as part of the base (along with all the housing areas) in the wake of 9/11. Thank you for the great memories!
Looks like a proper drive. I do miss the old fellow riding his bicycle. The trees are all twice the size. And of course the streets were never painted with stripes
I used to drive that road like a maniac in my MGB in 1973. I was one of the first female airmen to be stationed at Lakenheath. I lived in Woodland Way in an old hunting lodge which I see has been torn down. It was right across from Thetford Forrest.
Hi, I was looking for images of the Lakenheath F-15E's in their Heritage paint scheme and landed here?? Well its not an F-15 but its a very nice relaxing video...I think that's what they call serendipity? Take care....
There is an American vlogger living in Germany and he makes great videos about the local area. Your channel reminds me so much of his. I really think you could turn your channel into something greater than what it already is. You have great content so far. His name is Daniel DTV Television.

I so enjoy your videos Abby, I was stationed briefly at RAF Mildenhall, March-April 2003. Brings back fond memories of the area.

Very pleasant and relaxing video Abby, and the music is so appropriate.....
I need to watch this. But in a few days. Keep up the good work!
I landed at Mildenhall in the summer of 1973 when work was progressing on the new terminal and control tower. Got pix, but somebody stole them.

That was not the main gate when I lived there.
