Hi Blackie, The song is dedicated to the most popular Assyrian (The first nation accept Christianity and still speak the language that Jesus spoke with) part, Assyrian Democratic Movement AKA Zowaa in our fatherland Mesopotamia (Iraq today). Zowaa was the only Assyrian party fight Sadam with other Iraqi and presented several martyrs for that mission. It established schools in Northern Iraq that teach all subjects in Assyrian (Neo Aramaic) language. Back to your question, 1979 is the year the movement officially started the momentum. Today Zowaa has representatives in both Central and Northern Iraqi Parliaments, as well as representative in more than 45 cities through out the globe. Best
Sargis was born in Diyana, Erbil, town which I grew in 🙂 sargis was first elected into the Kurdistan National Assembly in the first Iraqi Kurdistan elections in 1992, beginning his political career. Sarkis Aghajan was also the Minister for Finance and the Economy from 1999 to 2006, and Deputy Prime Minister from 2004 to 2006 in the Arbil & Dohuk administration. Aghajan appears to owe his ascendancy within the Kurdistan Democratic Party power structure

This is stunning. I wish I could read the language in which it is written. Thanks to Minas Dankha, a patriot and a friend.
