Nice video, live in SoCal also. Have the m50 and the sigma 16mm. Love it for recoding video, but i agree with you in that i should be getting full frame lens for down the road.
Hi Dave, Lovely informative video. Would you say there is any reduction in sharpness for the still images ? I have the M50 and thinking of getting the speed booster for still photography and getting the 50mm 1.8 EF lense
Interesting! I think that will be because they are EF-S lenses and not EF lenses. Essentially the speed booster is faking the full frame look by magnifying what is coming through to the sensor. This is probably why you are seeing the back of the lens.
Keep your eyes open for a Tokina 11-16 2.8 ... wide, pretty sharp, requires you to zoom to about 13 to avoid vignetting but gives an overall 14.78 mm field of view. The original and mark II really do not display any difference in visual quality... I got mine for $270 off ebay in pristine condition... and they are only $399 new.
Bro, new sub here! I have the Canon M50 but I do not have the Speedbooster from Viltrox. I only have the regular adapter. You made me think of buying it as well as the 24mil. Love from the 🇵🇭🇵🇭
what would you recommend the viltrox speed booster or just a regular canon adaptor for m50 ? and i have heard that when we use vitrox spped booster we loose image quality ??? is it true ?? thanks
Bro is my theory correct. If I have the 50mm lens and a speed booster and a canon lens adapter, I basically end up with a 50ish mm option from using the speed booster and an 80ish mm when using the canon adapter. I hope this made sense. But either way, thank you for this very informative video!
You will only be able to use EF-S or EF glass not EF-M with viltrox speedbooster. However you can just take the speedbooster off and you use your EF-M glass
typically you'd shoot off angle like this if you were to show examples and clips on the left side of the screen. otherwise you should be positioned in the middle, and the lighting is far too harsh.

Hi there, not that I have noticed, perhaps a minor drop in edge sharpness. Honestly I haven’t noticed any difference
I'm using a sigma 17-70mm and the 18-35mm sigma art and the corners show bad vignetting.. is that normal orbis there a fix
Interesting! I think that will be because they are EF-S lenses and not EF lenses. Essentially the speed booster is faking the full frame look by magnifying what is coming through to the sensor. This is probably why you are seeing the back of the lens.
Yeah if it's not in auto focus and I turn the focus ring all the way to one direction I can actually see the shutters

Thanks dude! Both work pretty well and the M50 perform like a much nicer camera which is rad!

I would go for the speedbooster every time. I love using it
@@ShootingDave and which lens did you prefer for portrait photography canon 50mm 1.8 lens or sigma 30mm 1.4 which and why ??? for canon m50
I don’t shoot portraits very often with my M50. I use my 5D3 for that and I often use the 35mm f/2 for that.
Hey. Can I use canon 10-18mm lens on this speed booster?
I’m not 100% sure about this. I think you might see the inside of the lens at 10mm
The speed booster is for EF LENSES. The 10-18 is an EFS lens.

You are absolutely correct! They are with every penny
Nice side effect: I use the cheap yongnou 50mm version and it goes from 1.8f to 1.2f (should be the same with canon 50mm)
Yep that will work 😊
can i use this product with kit lens? Or do I need to change it? (my camera m50)

Thank you for your feedback. I have since revised my setup.
Great video
Thank you
Very nice 👍
May be u sit near to the camera for a better perspective
Thank you man! Yeah I have since changed position
New subscriber! =)
😍
People look left to right when looking at a screen. Switch ur self i can't stop staring at the light in the back.
Noted
If I get a speedbooseter can I use the kit lens on the speedbooster?
It will fit but I think you might get some vignetting. I don’t own any EF-S glass so I’m not sure if it will work well.
