WE ARE STRUGGLING! | Pep Guardiola | Aston Villa 1-0 Man City 😳

- TIMESTAMPS
00:00 - Intro.
00:03 - Todays result: The better team won. That’s the rest they are up there. It’s my job to find a way to come back from this situation. Now we are struggling.
01:08 - How do you change it?: You have to win games. We have to do it.
01:30 - Credit to Aston Villa. I have to find a way. We did find the players to find the passes and assists.
02:13 - Rodri absence: We tried with Stones and Akanji. Give more credit to Aston Villa than what we’ve done. When a team is better you have to recognise it.
03:11 - Players coming back: With Rodri we could not win. But it’s my job to find a way to win without him. The better team won, it’s simple as that. I have to reflect.
04:07 - Can Villa stay in the race?: Definitely.
04:34 - Haaland miss?: Nobody knows. I wished he’d scored but he didn’t.

NEVER have we seen Pep Guardiola's Manchester City dominated quite like today! 😳
Without Rodri and De-Bruyne, they'll always struggle
Big losses@@arsenalogist4285
U havent seen all the games
No big deal they won a treble last season it's normal and it can happen
Never worries. Without that deflated goal, the team are still 0-0. He will sort the things out.
Absolutely fair play to him for giving villa credit first and foremost. A lot of pundits will spin the narrative to say City where poor which was true, but the reality was that Villa outclassed them on every level tonight. The most resounding defeat I've seen city suffer in a long, LONG TIME.
Definitely, Villa was the better team tonight. Pep knows they need to find solution for games like this, City was so wide, they couldn't connect 3 passes and the transitions to counterattack were so slow at times.
Maybe it's fatigue, but I wouldn't know. at this point, the teams with accessible fixtures will be on the top on the table in January.
I tell you this tho, if there was any doubt about the premier league being THE BEST football league in the world. Not is settled with what is going on, the level of competition is so high
@jesusmax007 we all know why he really lost the game Rodri is is the reason without him City lose every game they play they don't have a replacement for rodri
I don't understand why he deserves such praise for saying the better team won. If any other manager said that, there would be nothing made of it. I don't think he needs to say anything about how good Villa were. If you're one of his players, you don't want to hear him heaping praise on them.
@@alanduncan1980absolutely correct. Why is common decency something to praise on the internet now? Surely that should be the bare minimum.

The Villa Fans in the stands were graced with an unforgettable display of football. As a Liverpool supporter it was beautiful to watch. Well deserved Villa. Leon is showing why they bought him. Super talented.
Not as beautiful to watch as Liverpool failing each season .

And BOTH were in the 11th minute
As a villa fan i couldn’t be more proud, I’m still in shock of how one sided the game was. In regards to Pep and Man City, they are still the best team with the best coach and despite their current blip, it wouldn’t surprise me if they reeled of 10-12 wins on the bounce in final run in and still win the title. But for now I’m just going to enjoying outplaying the European champions, albeit with a few players out, Villa were incredible to a man.
UTV 💜
Respect to you bro but imo you have to say arsenal and Liverpool are the two best teams in the prem rn yes city are top 4 no doubt but to me arsenal and Liverpool have looked more impressive and have been able to dig out games in tough tough games
Went to villa the other night and even before the kick off atmosphere was great and pep is right we got hammered all over the pitch and had done to us what we normally do. Think villa in for excellent season 👍🏻
This is the reason why we love football!
😂
Amazing to think Villa's midfield who dominated Man City all night cost a total of £17m.
It's been a while since i heard him sound this human.
It has also been years since someone outplayed them like this. 1:0 is flattering City. Villa are playing some amazing football.
And this is coming from an Arsenal fan. It's been a while since Villa vs Arsenal was this exciting.
Agreed, I’m nervous for Saturday after that performance we have to silence their fans sooner rather than later but doesn’t have to be with a goal just control the midfield and force them deeper and finish their dinner hopefully we walk away with 3 but I’ll gladly take 1
I je honzzhe is honest in his analysis
Like the fact that it's arsenal
Prepare for the Etihad
30th March 2024
For now, I'll zip my mouth till then
That was his least tetchy most reasonable interview ever.
@@NoFear850 I struggle to see Arsenal controlling the midfield in that game because they wont allow us in any part of the pitch to build up patiently. Villa's midfield will have the fans behind them to press and maintain possession. I almost feel the best way to play would be to respect Villa and let them see more of the ball so we can manage a good defensive display and try to pose problems on the counter
I’m a city fan and villa were amazing today. The totally deserved the win. I think it’s one of those situation where pep needs to think of a different system. Just like he did a a couple times the last few years. When he did the false 9 with foden or moving cancelo up. Something like that. The way city is playing right now won’t work until KDB and others return.
Who are the others?
@@ahmedimakopespot on. Not replacing Gundogan is such a faluire.
Steve Cooper was able to beat this Villa side a few weeks ago with his Nottingham Forest side. Apparently that guy is deemed unfit to be managing them, and will probably be sacked, so you can't complain about the system, or missing key players. Especially considering Pep is a "genius". There can be no excuses.
@@alanduncan1980 football isn't that easy. Tottenham beat city and arsenal beat Tottenham last season. But arsenal lost to city back to back

Lol.
We are not Mentioning Unai Emery enough guys! He is up there totally just like the greatest english speakers he deserves recognition
Too bad he couldn't get a grip at arsenal. But we have arteta
Totally agree his getting the best out of the players and still stays humble UTV
@Quick_Blazer he was treated harshly at Arsenal in my opinion. Until a few games ago he had the same win % as Artera with a far inferior team
The atmosphere was absolutely electric last night for - 95 minutes. Fair play to Villa and the fans 👏
It's acc mad how good we are right now man UTV 💜💙🦁
Rodri & DeBruyn are so critical to City’s spine
I think they miss gundo the most out of all the players gone
Going through the comment section made me realize what an empire Pep has built with City. One terrible loss and everyone with a million theories hahahaha
An empire that is going to turn to dust in 2024.

Things can't always be great, there are dips every now and then. The championship will be difficult this year, but the CL can still turn out well.
Pep needs this humbling tbf
#RodriFC
Proving to be a huge loss
There's not a more humbler manager than Pep. But yes, this message is overdue. Lackluster performance at best.
He's had it before... No difference he still wins.
@@kontomylitis Oh please. People still confuse humility with timidity or diplomacy. Kinda like with Messi. Both have huge egos. They just express it differently.
@@Lee-fc3yf When did he had 3 draws and 3 loses in 15 matches?
unai emery is unjustifiably was made fun in his time at arsenal. he's a good manager. i also love how pep is first at admit problems.
Respect Pep!
There are significant changes in the middle field since the departure of Gundogan, Mahrez and the absence of Kevin. He knows deep down that bringing in Kovacic is not good enough to fill the midfield gap. Now, the last 3 games revealed that.
The players brought in are nowhere near the level of the players who left.
What do you mean? Kovacic wasn't even playing one of those 3 games, the other two he was coming of the bench
Those players were involved in Pep's plan. If you play 1 min in Pep's games, you are asked by default to contribute to a "win". That is his "Mantra". Also, I ONLY mentioned that Kevin, Mahrez and Gondo's absence is/ are not easy to replace. I hope the context of what I previously said is CLEAR now. Enjoy your day mate
@@silaman10
@@MzontsunduThetyana-js8kvI get your point Gundo was irreplaceable but Doku, Mahrez and Gvardiol, Laporte is debatable! I'm not sure about Nunes whatsoever! Don't like the attitude!
I was saying the same thing about mc this season they have lost some key players who have left the club players with experience
now WE Understand how brother jack and rodri and Jérémy doku are important player for us
Wow, this might be an epic title race now
🔴 That comment about "We will win the title" revealed to me that he is nervous about retaining the title. Deep down he doesn't see the same hunger as last season in his team. I see through pep. Mentioning Arteta after the spurs draw told me that Arsenal are living rent free in his head lol he knows Arsenal are hungerier. 🔴
why are you reading so deep into it. he probably is just saying that to silence the media in the period that his team is struggling in
I have seen Pep.win many titles and never has he said he would win. Great pick up. Pep is still Pep backwards but his team is going in that same direction. Pep fears Liverpool, not Arsenal. He knows Klopp did what he did with less $... he also knows Arteta is his student.
Your Right Pep Doesn’t seem to be with the program !
Pep has good and bad moments. There are times the teams he coached he would lead to victory, but times he has lost games and titles. Not everyone is perfect, you can be a good coach but your far away from being considered the best in the world. Lionel Messi had his worst moments during his career, his worst moment was against Bayern with the 8-2 loss with Barcelona. Even cops América, he was set to retire because he couldn’t bring a victory for Argentina that time. But he learned from failure. This match proves that even the greatest aren’t as great as they think they are. But you move forward to not repeat certain mistakes..but even if you don’t win the title,..we’ll.that’s fine..there are moments that may not be yours and you should be praise the other’s for their achievements.
They know they are going to get Fckd by the court in march. Relegation looming so I don’t think they are motivated to play well
I think City needs to improve its defence, especially in transition. We do have some pace in the defence but I think the defenders forget their defensive duties for a bit when we are attacking
Is the midfield not controlling the game hope we fix up quickly
“We are struggling” and I’m here for peps tears 😭 🔥
youtube name is atleast right Hayters TV, people are so quick to jump the fence and say "they lost their touch". Little do they know, that this is how champions handle defead, humble and willing to improve, not blaming outside factors only themself. Just because pep is pep and he and the team(through him maybe) keeps this mentality its why they will bounce back and win. Losers never understand this cus they think its all about winning, not improving.
Cut tbe crap. City is shit.
Pep, always a class act. Unai & Martinez, 2 Arsenal alumni: proud of Villa!

This shows how crucial Rodri is/was to this team's success. It is not Haaland, but Rodri who should have been pushed for the Balon dor. Haaland cannot generate anything by himself, and simply relies on service.
Rodri was robbed.
Happens all the time with dms bro,Casemiro was Madrids most important player in the 3 peat and Ronaldo was our best player.Rodri is City's most important player
Finally someone else that notices. Wish I could like your comment 10 times. I have been laughed at by friends that do not look deeper than what meets the eye, and they were all adamant Messi deserved the award. Anyone that has been paying attention to the City team however knows how crucial Rodri is. The last CL final he didn't play, Pep lost - this time he even scored. He was clutch in winning the PL title as well. Hell, he was even crucial for Spain winning the NL. Don't tell me nobody cares about it, cause all the teams had all their available starters, so clearly it did matter to them.

Won 5 titles in 6 years and a treble last season he will be fine
@@warren2948 You realize that makes no sense right? He has the smallest squad he’s ever managed at City; he has no midfield, he plays players in roles they’ve shown they can’t play (Walker up high for attack does nothing but take away his defensive ability and same with Gvardiol who’s a young CB that playing LB and gets caught out too much, Akanji is not a Stones replacement at all and it shows when he inverts, playing a world class 9 as a 10 is a joke and Silva goes too far up leaving Rodri exposed). It’s a catastrophe made by the City board and to a degree Pep.
Have you seen their bench? It’s laughable. At least in seasons past he had the personnel to get the job done. He doesn’t now and it’s bc the squad is too small. But they did it purposely, so that’s on them.
@MCFCTheMadHatter yesterday was the only time they were completely dominated in like forever, and they were missing key individuals. The games against spurs and Liverpool they were the better side and should have won. The new signings obviously need sometime to be fully integrated to pep's ways. Relax it will click its still a long way it's not like the other teams are unbeatable they will have their purple patches too
@@warren2948 I appreciate your positivity - truly. I’m just having an issue with what seem to me as quite apparent issues from the summer that for whatever the reason were ignored overlooked etc, are now playing out.
I don’t mind losing when it’s bc we were outplayed, but a lot of the adverse conditions we’re experiencing are self inflicted and so when we draw or lose, especially against teams we should be beating, we’ll, it’s a lot harder to accept. If that makes sense.
This is why he’s one of if not the best manager in the game, he knows what happened and gives full credit as opposed to making excuses and blaming third parties, he knows that when Debruyne and Rodri return they will storm the league post Xmas

Best Away Trip in the Premier league
This how a winner reacts ❤❤❤
If I were Pep Guardiola, forget about the title race just focus on gaining confidence for the players, especially the backline in build up. City should focus on the club world cup and then come back next year playing confident football. There is no complacency, it is confidence and communication that's missing.
That’s what pep does, look at all past 3 years. Every January is pep’s favourite month that is where the title charge actually begins. Arsenal were top of the league last Christmas and we know how that ended.
Keep playing like this and you'll sure win us the premier league pep
Aston Villa vs Arsenal is going to be 🔥. COYG
2 shots to 22... thats a 1 nil hammering. Im not looking forward to playing them next 😂
"Luton you are F*ck*d" - Pep 🤣🤣
Pep deserves this tbf. Persisting with playing Alvarez in the 10 is stupid. Playing Haaland over Alvarez as the striker is wrong in my opinion.
Playing a double pivot of Akanji and stones is stupid. And playing Gvardiol over Ake is another dumb decision.
He is so stubborn and infuriating at times. He is literally handing Arsenal or Liverpool the title.
Gvardiol was kinda at fault for the goal - he over committed and got turned. Villa strikers are no mugs eh. I prefer Ake tbh.
Any one of his experiments over the years could’ve gone wrong and they could’ve hit a slump like this, but they never did. I don’t think the tactics is the likely explanation for this form (maybe this game bc a stones-Lewis midfield pivot?? Jesus Christ…). It’s two major things - a hangover treble and KDB being out. He’s the best player in the league when he’s fit and city don’t have the same rhythm without him. Huge.
So your the coach that won the treble last season?
Rodri is the reason for the slump. 5 games missed by Rodri, 5 games with lost points. @@reggiewatts1926

the sound is so low man, fix this! thanks.
As long as PEP can't command phoden, Alvarez, and other midfielders to focus on making through passes to Haaland the way they played last season instead of their individual and selfish game, city may experience 3 defeats in a row after 3 draws in row in EPL. Last season Haaland played with a 99% assurance that the ball will come to him from all angles but this season the assurance is below 30% and that is affecting him now
Diaz, Guadiol, Akanji, Stones, Walker and Lewis, that's 6 out of 10 outfield players who are primarily defenders. HARAM ball from pep tonight

City are not the team we knew before, they concede easily these days, and they finding hard to blow teams away, they are missing Gundogan, KDB, and cancelo with Mahrez. This were Guardiola fall back guys when his plans her not working, but now they have same average players like the rest, only haaland Silva with KDB are the only top class player left in that team.
KDB is not only coming back next year..but it’s also his last year in man city. By 2025, he’s a free agent, he’ll be moving to either two places : Saudi pro league with people talking to his agent or in a slow pace that he won’t get injured all the time…MLS where he finally gets to talk. Haaland would need to adapt without KDB as his link to assistants.
Even Guardiola is not going to stay more than 2 seasons in mancity, I won't be surprise if goes to another club or a sabbatical when his contract expires, with the way he as been selling is key players In the past few seasons, he only bought haaland to win the treble and ucl, now he is trying to win 4 in a row, if he can't would run and use mancity legal problem as an excuse. Am Guardiola as a coach which is out of ideas, Guardiola is a coach who only thrives when he has world class players around, e.g KDB, Messi, lewandoski.... He is not the Weekend Wenger or sir Alex type that can use young players and still play well, that is why am respecting what Chelsea and arsenal are doing. For me ancelotti is still a better coach than Guardiola. Even if they EPL this season, mancity is already in a diminishing return and teams are no longer scared of them.
@@mikeabu843cancelo and Zinchenko couldn’t defend, that’s why the team thrived and had a strong back line which led them to their treble win once they were gone. Gundogan is a big miss as he read the game very well as does KDB thus you see less of an impact from Haaland and others. Mahrez, he could be replaced though so that’s not a big impact as you have doku and others, his form varied throughout the season and he wasn’t always effective. Overall, the issues now with defence are due to individual poor performances and the same is for every player. Walker for example is defending very poorly as are a few others and overall they are making huge mistakes and lack their high standards for whatever reason in the recent games, it was covered up by the wins but it was obvious at times and it’s only gotten worse. Pep needs to also stop with the experimenting in midfield with akanji as it leaves very little to protect against the counter attack, especially if Walker is up the pitch.

Pep should let Gvardiol play more offensively if he is already playing him on the left back. Let him have more runs on the left plank. And yes, Gvardiol should remain in the starting 11.
Haaland seems complacent. Last season he’s threatening killer runs and getting mad when not fed the ball now he just stands there or runs deep to get a touch he’s got comfortable getting the ball pinged to him for him just to let his positioning do the work. He needs to go back to being a physical bully and use that pace he has to run onto loose balls and beat defenders in a physical battle
