Yeah. Most parents would tell at their children for this and seeing mei meis mom not yell at her kind of shows how much her mom loves her. Even if she unintentionally embarrassed her and stuff.

The only thing I love about this is her mom really didn't think it was her fault... Even through out the movie she would blame anyone and everyone aside from her daughter... But we could tell she's just looking out for her... And plus- you can't normally find an asian mom/guardian who never blames there kid for something they never or actually have done..

Another scene isn't really something Ming does, but rather it's something Mei Mei said which was when they were in the car and Ming asked if there was anything else she should know about. Mei's reaction by saying "nope not at all!" When there is other things is something I'm afraid my mom would see in me. Because I do hide things from my mom from time to time, and I act the same Mei does by lying and saying there's nothing else- the only difference is that I sound believable
