    If the RZR 4 800 Was as quiet as the volume on the video, you're all set !!! And it's definitely better.

    Great video. In my opinion not enough of a difference to make the cost worth it. Still very loud.

    Does the camera have automatic gain control? If so, it may normalize loud sounds.

    Nice video! An interesting comparison. Too bad we do not live closer to one another as one of my "hobbies" is electronics. I have several spectrum analyzers, in particular a Hewlett Packard model 3585B which has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 40MHz. This instrument not only measures the amplitude of the sound signal but also the amplitude of different frequencies. It would be fun to measure your exhaust system sounds with this instrument.

    Don't know the Razors , but would recommend removing the canister end cap and replacing it with one that has more down angle. However, it sounds like your issue is cab noise and I agree, it's pretty loud. Sound deadening material into the engine cover, change oil to Amsoil synthetic, and see if the drive train has issues which might be creating some of that noise? It should not be that loud in there, almost needing ear protection inside of helmet for extended rides.

    New exhaust sounds marginally better.

    Thanks for the info and the video. I would have to agree with you 100% it’s a little bit quieter but “Super Silent” HAHA!! Far from that!!! Hope you enjoy your ride coming up! 😎👍🌵

    Improved sound quality with SLP, but still not quiet enough for me. Don't have a Razr, and the noise is one reason. There's no reason Polaris can't make a quieter engine and better muffler. Let the Germans at it? I'd have to wear ear protection to be in one all day. Would be interesting to see some tests of hearing loss by long-time motorcycle and quad riders. Those who like the noise are harming themselves for the illusion of "power."

    I'd say only a 10 db reduction, so not sure it's worth the upgrade. If you went with the other one maybe there's a protective bar-cage you could put over it?

    • @ericvanzeyl4483

      I agree with you. 10 db maybe. Not worth it in my ear.

      You do realize sound volume doubles every 6db, right? 10db would be an insane upgrade, probably 3x quieter.

    Quieter at idle if anything. Sounds the same in the cab though m.

    Yep, the super silent exhaust is not worth the money, although it is a little quieter. This vehicle must have a two stroke engine, and they are noisy. What about a four stoke engine, which is much quieter? But for financial considerations, perhaps the extra tailpiece with a guard cover is a great choice. You are such an interesting character Mr. Arkansas Homesteader!

    Sounded like not a big difference. I am thinking about trying a stock 4 cylinder car exhaust!!! Anyone tried this? Even a stock older Honda Civic has like 130-150hp. Way more than a NA UTV. The UTV shouldn’t be bogged down by a car exhaust. Thinking about it hard. Advanced auto can get a stock Civic exhaust for around $50. I can modify brackets for those savings. Should be whisper quiet just like the car.

      Did you take the tail peice off? You have to bolt it on once the main body is installed.

      It did help some on the long rides, but I dont think enough I would but it again. 300+ is pretty step for the difference it makes.

    What happened you stopped working on your house the last video you did on a house with plumbing and you still didn't finish that!! Then you put out a video on that all-terrain vehicle and that sucks because your volume your audio was really bad on that when are you going to get back on your house and finish it up and do videos on it that's what I'm mostly interested i n!!!

    I have rented SxS and cannot bring myself to buy one because they are so loud and it just not Polaris. There is no reason all the manufactures can't dramatically reduce the noise these things give off.
    I watched this review and that RZR is still loud as hell. It's going to scare all wildlife you come near. To me it looks like a waste of money.

    Sold as 'Super Silent Exhaust' I would request s refund ... imo it is little quieter but not by much, however if it helps to reduce the note to your satisfaction I'd say that's ok.

      They aren't allowed on trails and don't climb obstacles like an ATV. Not everybody is looking to have an obnoxiously loud exhaust.

    What's going on with the house it's been week since you had videos on your mechanical on your house and now you're making a video on a vehicle. Besides the audio on the video sucks can barely hear you!!!

    I just don't understand the attraction to these. For about half the price you can have very nice used 4x4. More comfort, space, power and they're street legal.

    • @01Z06guy
      @01Z06guy 4 роки тому +1

      That's what I thought but now I own one. The answer, believe it or not, is comfort. A 4x4 beats you up on trails and dirt roads. The RZR weighs very little, has big tires at 8psi, and a very soft suspension. It soaks up the bumps great and makes driving fast off road fun. The whole point of going off road is for fun and the RZR is just makes it more fun and less punishing.

    • @ArkansasHomesteader
      @ArkansasHomesteader  4 роки тому +1

      And if you are like me you go with a group of friends. A jeep and a RZR will both get you to the same spots, but a jeep trying to ride with a group of RZRs would not keep up if the RZRs are doing anything more than just crawling along. Now a RZR can slow down and stay with a group of jeeps but would be board to tears. So its not really about which one is better, but if you ride with a group of friends, just which one do they have. Its more fun if everyone has close to the same type machine.
