This actually is part of that process. We've sliced human brains and viewed them in microscopes countless times. We've tried tracing neurons and neuronal development. We've made artificial neural networks. We've extensively traced and observed em fields the brain generates. That's just how science works. You can't keep repeating the same experiments and expect something novel all the time. It's like learning to bike. You can read as much about it and watch other people do it but eventually you're going to have to sit on one to learn it.

If say you are alone at home and someone hacks you to send all your money to someone or worse, then external devices, cameras, AI, etc would be needed to check for odd behaviour and turn the device off through a separate local remote override function, if around others they can notice it and disconnect it. That's if the rare event happens like someone hacking your phone (could happen but only if you are special and more of a custom hack vs mass mind takeover or anything, these devices will be made with the gravity of the situation in mind, kind of like self-driving cars I would imagine but more tailored.

well you see, the thing is that humans would be an extraordinarily inefficient power source. Although, we would be a very very useful computer. Imagine you take brain stem cells, and create a living human brain, with no body. This brain does not have knowledge of the outside world, nor would it have the ability to know that it exists. I'd imagine it would essentially be a computer with the power of a human brain, it would have no consciousness until you've input so much that it begins to ask existential questions.
