Gary Lineker did not heavily criticise Kane at all. If anything he was complimentary about him and said that he’d like to see you further up the pitch pressing. I didn’t see what Lineker was saying as being derogatory to Kane or the England team. The journalist here really is stirring the pot and it is typical lazy journalism from the English media.

That reporter is embarrassing, Gary was very complimentary to Harry in his podcast but just gave insight into what he would do in that position to benefit the team, which is his job. It sounds like the reporter has some sort of agenda against Lineker with the "should stay to flogging crisps" comment. He's achieved more in his career than that reporter could in their dreams.

Against Serbia we did one good attack and scored. If we had done many attacks like that, and crossed the ball we would have scored 3 or 4 by 35 minutes.
Denmark we sat back after scoring instead of pressing. Although Denmark did play well and the pitch was no good, I know same for both teams.
It's frustrating, but I'm telling myself it's doesn't matter how you start it's how you finish? I suppose we win the group and then win the next match. Then we in last 8 against someone good and we see? At least the whole country doesn't think we are going to win it now. The over enthusiasm has been extinguished after just 2 games.

Lineker was also very complimentary about Harry in his analysis if you actually listen to the whole conversation instead of just using typical sloppy journalistic tactics of taking snippets of words spoken without full context. What Gary said is no different to what anyone else has said or is thinking so this is clearly just a lazy targeted attack on him because it makes a cheap headline.

Kane dropping deep has 44 goals and 12 assists this season.. Foden can move forward with Kane dropping deeper similar to Musilia this season. The issue is not having runners on the wings to get in behind..

In 180 mins of football there’s only been 2 crosses from the left do t need Stato to see where the problem lies
He scored from a cross when walker got down the right, it lead to Kanes goal, and then almost scored when bowyer crossed.
Walker , and saka have been fine down the right , but you won't get crosses from the left , trippier can't and foden can't.
All teams have to do is stop us down the right and we crumble , what happens then is because there are 2 defensive midfielders, one that can't play there , is that everyone drops deep.
I honestly don't think Kane is at fault.
Southgate not taking a proper left back, taking an injured left back , and playing players out of position , then when we need a goal , he keeps the same shape , he might be able to make the players feel good , but his tactics haveny won't us anything, if he had tactical knowledge and didn't pick the wrong players he would be the best manager we had.
We got to a final, and we were on top , we lost the final because of Southgate and I can't forgive it.

Kane is totally wrong. If this is the Captains mentality then England are totally doomed... The issue is not that England have 4 points and WILL qualify from the group.. and so they should with this squad of players. The issue is the levels they are at and the style of play, tactics and team selection which is driven by the manager. England are way below the levels of the other top teams and won't just be able to 'switch it on' as the tournament progresses. Southgate is too negative and does not play correct formations... this has been proven over many years & tournaments not just this one. England have/had such an excellent chance here with the pool of players they have but will get nowhere with this coach and his negative selections & tactics. Start by playing players in their correct positions, have the balls to drop players who don't fit in (don't shoehorn them in) and have the courage to play the players who ended the Premiership season in flying form. Southgate talking up and lamenting on players who are injured and players who have not been involved with England for years undermines the players currently in those positions and sends out negative and totally wrong messages to everyone. England need a new, more positive progrressive manager to get the best out of this squad which should be achieving a lot more.

Harry Kane has been overrated since 2018. Micheal Owen was the last English striker that we could be proud off, somone that put fear in opposition team . When we were playing Brazil in 2002 QF Owen goes and grabs a solo goal out of nothing. When has Kane ever turned up for England , bang in a hat-rick against Andorra missing against Croatia . Ultimate hype job , didn’t turn up in WC semi finals , champions league final or Euro final . Big players deliver in big games, Kane is not a big player

The players and staff seem completely unaware of how awful they were. Yes, Denmark are decent, and a point isn't a bad result - but they've not got a prayer if they actually can't manage 5 yard passes and the lone striker, not known for pace, is receiving the ball 50 yards from goal with no back up. I can't believe that team, with all the talent it has, can play that badly. It is astonishing. This is compounded when you realise that none of them think this is a problem... like we've appointed the only people in the world who are wrong to the job.
But England had this against Scotland last euros and got to final and then USA at world cup and gave France a great run at QF.
I often have seen teams play terrible but still grind out results. That's shows a strong team I think.

The problem with England is a lack of passion. I remember Australia beating Denmark in the last World Cup. Not one of that Australia team would have got into this squad. And every one of this England squad would have strolled into that Australia squad. They went out there and played with passion and pride… and a load of lower league England and continental players along with a few SPL players and A-League players beat them.
This team does not lack ability. It lacks desire.

talkSport turning into the Daily Mail here with a "clickbaitey title". I also have to point out the disrepectful and aggravating questionining (" Gary should stick to flogging off crisps"!). Having listened to pretty much every single post match review under the sun, I have to say that the talkSport ones were by far one of the most harsh compared to the others. Kudos to Harry for managing the question well, and also for Gary for being honest in his take on the performance. Also, as many people have correctly pointed out here, Gary was quite complimentary to Kane and at one point said that "Harry's one of the greatest finishers of the game" (and also to the team saying that "no-one can say that the team are not giving their all". So let's stick the facts and try and support our team through a tough patch to go and win this damn thing! C'mon England... and talkSport, do better!
