I’m obsessed w this film. I’ve seen it 3X now and still can’t get it out of my head. That argument scene was dazzling, thrilling, cringe and sad all at the same time. You feel as if you’re in that room with them.
Hope this movie gets all the Oscar love it clearly deserves. 🍿

Nice reaction..I personally would've liked it better if you paused the movie to talk about your thoughts and relate it to other movies instead of talking over the movie (maybe you actually paused and its just edited in this way). Have a good night!

I just watched this film yesterday, I've also just seen some Press talks and I have to say, the more I dig into the idea of this film the more I become to enjoy it.
Your talk through the film helps me a lot with the analysis and also to improve my English. I found very interesting your point of view about the Matrioska and the Heisenberg's principle which I will definitely make my research afterwards. I will also check Citizen Kane at some point, I remember studying it at university but never watched it.
    My notes on this film:
    - Sound is impecable. I have never experienced this level of detail especially hearing the dog walking on scenes before it appeared. The sound was treated like if we were Daniel.
    - We can also appreciate how Daniel evolves in many details. From playing the piano to how at the end he starts creating his own puzzle after hearing all the different realities.
    - For me was very important that the director chose not to show us anything about Samuel at the begging. It helps us create our own perspective.
    - At the end there's this couple of scenes that feels like we are going to know the truth from Sandra. The first one getting drunk at the dinner with Renzi and the second when Sandra has this weird hug with Daniel, I felt that Daniel was going to tell her that he knew but he forgives her.
Again, thank you for your point of view!

There are a couple of other comparisons with Marriage Story in addition to the one you made. 1) The scripts were partly influenced by the writers' personal life (in the case of Baumbach, his breakup with Jennifer Jason Leigh). 2) The insertion by the judiciary of a stranger into the familial unit, albeit with different objectives.

My fave movie of the year, I think. And yes, watch Victoria by Triet! Maybe I’m biased but it for sure sounded like Samuel was slapping himself. He was more unhinged than her.

It maybe makes her less relatable than other protagonists, but i do find that perfect balancing act of the fact that the more we find out about Sandra, the more elusive she gets such an impressive feat of both writing and performance cause she has to be both very defined and also inscrutable at the same time for us to both invest in her as a protagonist but also project our own views and biases onto her, she is such a refreshing charcater honestly (Hüller deserved that oscar honestly, such a mature nuanced performance)

    Super enjoyable review! Thanks.
That is an entire layer to the film that I hadn't really picked up on my viewing.
I'm curious if you think the ball dropping down the stairs has any significance at all?
    (I'll definitely check out Sybil)

Like maybe Samuel wanted to lead Snoop out of the loft so that Daniel wouldn't be nearby for his attempt? Maybe! It's really hard to characterize his state of mind on the day.

I’ve never seen the movie but I’m convinced that the truth does triumph, but we can be so dedicated to our self deceptions that we never recognize the truth whooping our butts for what it is. We just find new ways to direct false blame. I also think it’s called anatomy of a fall because it was an accidental fall. The obsession with blaming one person or the other keeping us from seeing the simple truth strikes me as the more powerful meaning. The dog absolutely did it. Poor good dog.

I love your commentary but i do hope maybe youve watched the film again on your own cause it really does have some of the best dialogue in the last 5 years for me and it would be a shame to miss the nuances of the dialogue/performances

that is not a good reason. A watch a lot of reaction channels and the key is the balance between content and comments. If you can't understand that, I'm sorry for the content you watch. But now worries! I don't watch this channel anymore and I move forward with my life, no biggie :D @@animula6908
