Here in TN, they don't treat our side roads when it snows. We have several Hispanic families in our neighborhood. About a week ago, it snowed, and three of these young men went behind the American in his SUV and dug his wheels out of the ice as he drove up the hill. Last year, they towed him out. They are the first ones to help anyone that needs it. I have no idea if they're legal or not, but I pray for their safety and everyone's safety. 🙏 😢❤

I am a newcomer to the Episcopal Church in Texas. Thanks to MAGA and their leaders, I left my evangelical church affiliation, a group I had been associated with since childhood. I am now a grandmother. I love the church that I've attended for 6 weeks now. I love the Rector, the people, the worship, the Eucharist. Mostly I love how accepting and loving they are. Now that I've watched this video and heard what the Bishop said to Trump in church, I know I am where God wants me to be. I will pray and I will look into how I can get involved. This is JESUS in action. Amen!

I was teaching at a private school across from an Episcopalian church in the late 1980s. It was the height of the AIDs scare when doctors didn't know much about the disease or how it was transmtted. People with AIDS were treated like lepers. As I left school one day, I saw a sign on the church lawn which read "AIDS dinner tonight...come all!" I decided to do just that. The members of the congregation sat and ate and most importantly talked with these young men afflicted with a scary disease. From that day on, I always say Episcopalians rock!. They talk the talk and walk the walk.
It was the young straight Episcopal minister in Palm Springs, who together with the conservative rabbi in our small town founded the Desert AIDS Project. Palm Springs is about 40% gay men. Many of them came here during the AIDS crisis to die. Many are still here. Thanks be to God for Rev Andrew Green of Saint Paul in the Desert Episcopal Church, and the people and rabbis of Temple Isaiah. We still have a close contact and a regular clergy exchange. My Eastern Orthodox mentor told me you cannot be a good Christian until you are first a good Jew.
I have a ancestor , a southerner who was part of the underground rail road. He ended up fighting for the North against slavery. That policy of not violating Sanctuary is based on the First Amendment. It won’t be discarded easily. Your priest can’t be compelled to testify against you and the police will not enter a church unless called there by the priest. That’s consular law. This sort of action always makes me think of what people did during slave times with the Underground Railroad, and what people did to help Jewish people in Europe when it was held by the N*zis. People who needed to be protected were protected against the inhumane laws that existed in those times.
I am heartened to learn that there are Christians that are willing to stand up and not only protest, but actively work to protect at least some of those that are about to be persecuted by the current government. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Reverend Trevor’s, you’re doing it again. You’re filling my empty heart with excitement and hope that we can actually DO SOMETHING about the state of our country. We can all do something! You are my hero❤
In Canada I'm saddened that our King, King Charles did not find his voice during the Christmas Period when Trump first went on his rage against Canada. Silence from King Charles and yet a clear and wonderful strong voice from my sister church in America. My husband an Anglican Priest must make his loyalty to the Crown known in the celebrations & ceremonies of the Anglican Church. Obviously these are special times and circumstances that need more than a voiceless KING!
I’m extremely touched with this statement and position and hope and pray others will follow suit. This is of historic importance as it sends a clear message that we will not comply, and we won’t be quiet.
I watched the clip of Bishop Budde give prayer for trump and his family JD and his wife. While Bishop Mariann was talking to Trump, the look on his and JDs face and the family was priceless.

PS There are a lot of official legal groups posting information about what to do if ICE agents turns up - what are their legal rights are. (A mum posted yesterday about her 12 y son coming to her and asked what does he do if ICE agents come to his school and ask him about his friends/ classmates (ie asking him to snitch on them). She had to sit him down and explain what his rights were. Migrant families would be having the same conversation with their kids. Mind you, black parents have had to do this with their kids for decades if they were ever arrested etc.)
Hello here from Denmark 🇩🇰 I’m so devastated that Trump and his cult claims to be Christians but is disgusted when this brave Bishop talk about Christian compassion and love. This just shows that they are following the devil. This is so sad. Thank you for sharing
God gave me a vision that He is separating the wheat from the weeds now. Narrow is the road to salvation and wide the road to destruction. For the true followers hear Jesus voice and follow Him. He is building His true church to be a light in the darkness. 🎉
Just after 9/11 one of my ministers in Urbana said that the church he was in charge of would offer refuge to anyone who felt threatened with "retaliation."
We need to develop an underground network to help any class of people who are in danger of retribution or unconstitutional punishment or acts or actions by a rouge government, institution or persons.
Rich Mullins had a song about mercy, with a chorus that is on point: Let mercy lead Let love be the strength in your legs And in every footprint that you leave There'll be a drop of grace If we can reach Beyond the wisdom of this age Into the foolishness of God That foolishness will save Those who believe Although their foolish hearts may break They will find peace And I'll meet you in that place Where mercy leads
I haven’t been in a church in years, largely due to this “Christian nationalism” movement 😡! I really appreciated the bishop in DC that spoke truth to the “leaders” in the service. I may even consider attending my local episcopal church to see if they will be as inclusive as this indicates. 🙌🤗
I’m watching from Halifax not realizing you are living here. Everyday when I leave my home I pray that I will go into community with care for all in my heart. Thank you for your message.
Don’t be surprised. They reemed him a new one when he pulled his Bible march to their church while tear gassing peaceful protestors in his first presidency.
FYI: we say “Episcopal Church” not Episcopalian Church. (It is like nails on chalkboard when I hear that) The Episcopalians belong to the Episcopal Church.
Prayer and Faith is paramount. Asking God to protect those we care for now, and having Faith that God will hear our prayers. Many times I have had to give up the controls and ask my Father to take over, and trust that He would. I'm sure many have been in the same spot on numerous occasions. When I truly handed it over, A warm comforting calm came over me. I will not. I cannot surrender to the toils that we face now. But, I can surrender to my Father God, and trust Him with my heart and soul. 💗
We laypeople need to have meetings to come up with safety plans and strategies to protect our fellow brothers and sisters and to join organizations working to Legally protect these people.
I am an Atheopagan. Not a Christian. But I find your messages inspiring and beautiful. You speak to my humanity, and I appreciate that more than you can know.
I am sorry to relate that he has lived up to his promise (possibly for the first time). Sadly, those protections have now - on day 2 - been revoked. Our prayers are needed more than ever.
Even though that lifestyle is not for me just as my lifestyle is not for others….. I will never judge, condemn, or hurt my neighbors based solely on the life we have chosen to live. Yes, I am a believer. However, I am one that will win hearts and lost souls with love, compassion, understanding, empathy, sympathy…:. and the list goes on. This is not our home, therefore we are all immigrants to this land.
After a 75 year struggle, I was recently confirmed into the Catholic Church, taking part in the Eucharist. That occurred in a blue state. I recently moved to a red state in the South, and found that the local church was far, far too politically MAGA. This sort of action always makes me think of what people did during slave times with the Underground Railroad, and what people did to help Jewish people in Europe when it was held by the N*zis. People who needed to be protected were protected against the inhumane laws that existed in those times.
May we be so bold and courageous to follow their example.
It is our human duty to disobey unjust laws.
I am heartened to learn that there are Christians that are willing to stand up and not only protest, but actively work to protect at least some of those that are about to be persecuted by the current government. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
That Bishop is very brave. Standing up to hate and fascism is what we all must do.
I am so glad I joined the Episcopal church a couple months ago!
Welcome to the family, and peace be with you! ✌️
@judycee9263 God's peace be with you, too!
Speaking truth to power is our duty and needs to be expected. She set a very fine example of the correct way to run one's mouth.
I will stand with LTGB community.
Father, all bets are off. He will do anything he wants, regardless of the law or Constitution and our SCOTUS will support him. Pray for us, please
Thank you Jesus for protecting and keeping all those people who are at risk of the mistreatment that is coming 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️from 🇨🇦
Reverend Trevor’s, you’re doing it again. You’re filling my empty heart with excitement and hope that we can actually DO SOMETHING about the state of our country. We can all do something! You are my hero❤
Proud to be an Episcopalian!
Good Trouble, nice.
This is originally from a congressman, John Lewis may he RIP, reiterated by the presiding bishop of the Episcopal church, Michael Curry.
Hey there! Say hi to your husband for me!
It's strange that when someone speaks up and reminds them of the words and teachings of Jesus, it makes Maga's very uncomfortable, and angry.
You could almost see the smoke coming out of Donold's ears. 🤭
The Presbyterian Church USA has also come out with a statement about afirming diversity and supporting immigrants.
AMEN!! That is why I belong to a episcopal church. We welcome everyone. Peace be with you all.
Still scared with what is going on in my country.
However, Rev Ed is helping me with his sermons an talks.
I am not a religious man, but I believe and love every bit of wisdom spoken about Jesus' teachings of human decency from Rev Ed Trevors. Also have never been more proud of the church than after hearing Bishup Budde call out Trumps evils to his face. We need all politicians, media figures and every single good human to do the same. It's our time to stand up and fight for good
PS There are a lot of official legal groups posting information about what to do if ICE agents turns up - what are their legal rights are.
She better NOT apologize to these evil freaks! I stand with her!
She has the COURAGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WAS GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, HER WORDS FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT!
BRAVO!
God bless the episcopal church! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸
Hello here from Denmark 🇩🇰 I’m so devastated that Trump and his cult claims to be Christians but is disgusted when this brave Bishop talk about Christian compassion and love. This just shows that they are following the devil. This is so sad. Thank you for sharing
Did you see the vid of the Danish MEP who had a message for Trump... Greenland is not for sale!
@ yes I did. Strong words.. we are so angry and I try to stay calm
I shared your comments on facebook.
Thank you
God gave me a vision that He is separating the wheat from the weeds now. Narrow is the road to salvation and wide the road to destruction. For the true followers hear Jesus voice and follow Him. He is building His true church to be a light in the darkness. 🎉
Blessings on all who are willing to stand up for what is right!
Just after 9/11 one of my ministers in Urbana said that the church he was in charge of would offer refuge to anyone who felt threatened with "retaliation."
My daughter church has children born in America and Reverend. I sure hope to see the hand of God stop the madman .
We need to develop an underground network to help any class of people who are in danger of retribution or unconstitutional punishment or acts or actions by a rouge government, institution or persons.
I agree, don’t post it online.
It's been there for a long time my friend.
God bless those that are brave enough to stand up and stand strong!
I'm hoping my Unitarian community follows suit.
Rich Mullins had a song about mercy, with a chorus that is on point:
Let mercy lead
Let love be the strength in your legs
And in every footprint that you leave
There'll be a drop of grace
If we can reach
Beyond the wisdom of this age
Into the foolishness of God
That foolishness will save
Those who believe
Although their foolish hearts may break
They will find peace
And I'll meet you in that place
Where mercy leads
Biship Snook came from my diocese and she has celebrated the Eucharist in my church! I am very proud of her (all of us are).
I found my new Christians now. I just have to find an Episcopalian church.❤
Same here. I am seeking a nondenominational church that loves God and not worship Trump.
You've definitely come to the right place. Welcome and blessings on your search.
Thanks Rev Ed God Bless Episcopal church 🙏.. God Bless 🕊️ Nmultis 🕊️
Thank you for doing this video!!!!! GO REV. MARIANN BUDDE
I haven’t been in a church in years, largely due to this “Christian nationalism” movement 😡! I really appreciated the bishop in DC that spoke truth to the “leaders” in the service. I may even consider attending my local episcopal church to see if they will be as inclusive as this indicates. 🙌🤗
My family and I left, the Evangelical Free Church in the 1970s after attending a service that turned into more of a Bund rally than a worship service.
I agree. We must not ignore the needs of those targeted by the cruelty and ignorance of those who hate immigrants.
I’m watching from Halifax not realizing you are living here. Everyday when I leave my home I pray that I will go into community with care for all in my heart. Thank you for your message.
That's a welcome development, if kind of surprising.
Don’t be surprised. They reemed him a new one when he pulled his Bible march to their church while tear gassing peaceful protestors in his first presidency.
God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Pray for wisdom, pray for courage. Pray for humilty, love one another as he loves you. Amen
We join the prayer ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Surely what is being discussed is the issue of illegal immigrants?- not people who go to the US in the proper manner.
What is being asked is that mercy is shown to people in the US that are afraid
FYI: we say “Episcopal Church” not Episcopalian Church. (It is like nails on chalkboard when I hear that) The Episcopalians belong to the Episcopal Church.
Thank you Bishops for standing with God for his children. Be blessed.
A humanitarian plea to those who need to hear.
She is a true follower of Christ, liked how she reminded the lawless one that scripture states to treat the foreigner well for we were once foreign.
Thank you ❤
Wake me when the bishops put together a program to educate about the prejudice against unhoused people.
The thing that gets me.. Arnt we ALL spiritual IMMIGRANTS from God / Heaven? The earth isnt our eternal home.
We laypeople need to have meetings to come up with safety plans and strategies to protect our fellow brothers and sisters and to join organizations working to
Legally protect these people.
Thom Hartmann on UA-cam says 20 ways to stop Trump 's Tyranny before it is too late
@emilsuda4101 The law are words on a piece of paper. Duty to threatened humanity is moral.
By love and kindness I have drawn thee. Thank you🙌💯❤️🕊️
I am an Atheopagan. Not a Christian. But I find your messages inspiring and beautiful. You speak to my humanity, and I appreciate that more than you can know.
Hallelujah and my prayers 🙏 for these people! ❤
I am going to St. Elizabeth's Church Saturday morning for breakfast--if I can wake up in time. The church is Episcopalian.
I am sorry to relate that he has lived up to his promise (possibly for the first time). Sadly, those protections have now - on day 2 - been revoked. Our prayers are needed more than ever.
That’s right. That’s my church. 🙏🏽
Episcopal priest here. Thanks, Rev. Ed. ✌️
Way to go sir👍✌️🙏💖
After a 75 year struggle, I was recently confirmed into the Catholic Church, taking part in the Eucharist. That occurred in a blue state. I recently moved to a red state in the South, and found that the local church was far, far too politically MAGA. Given what I heard from the National Cathedral this week, and listening to your reflections, I find myself much more drawn to the Episcopal Church. She holds the values that I treasure most. There is a church just down the road. I'm looking forward to going Sunday to see if it is a good fit.
Rev. Ed: I echo what you said today in your talk: Good trouble is a good thing. Blessings and love to you in your life and work!
My parents put me in an Episcopal school 60 years ago. I don’t remember much about the school or the services we attended daily. It must have made an impression because of who I am today. Thank you!
This green light warms my heart to the point of my eyes watering.
These times are reminiscent of Eisenhower's "Operation W*tb*ck". Deport first, ask questions later. Brutal.
