I love his style from the eighties with the hat, the earring and the scarves. Nowadays he is back to that kind of style again. Here he still has his boyish looks. Careerwise he achieved everything that he wanted to achieve and more. He is a very big and succesful actor. He had the talent and oppurtunities and made use of it.
He is by far without a doubt the greatest most talented diverse actor to ever walk this planet ...I mean MY GOD ...for an aspiring actress has he EVER set the bar high ...just WOW.. its unbelievable how he can go from a pirate to sweeny todd to a teenage hearthrob like tom hanson ..AND LETS NOT FORGET GILBERT GRAPE ..I WISH that some day I could have at least half the talent that he does

I didn't mean that he is not goodlooking today. He still looks very good for his age. Only i wish that he was 25 years old today. I think it's a pitty that we missed that time when he was still young. But he still looks amazing and he is a very humble and kind person who didn't and doesn't feel better than others.
Even though Johnny Depp was not a fan of 21 Jumpstreet and tried to get fired from that show so many times, he still has respect for the fact that this is how he really got noticed, got his name out there and became a household name in America. But he knew he had more potential and could do so much more in life than be a teen idol, stuck in a role forever.
Shame, I like Jump Street, maybe it wasn't completely flawless but it got some pretty good messages across and often had real depth. It was hardly a shallow modern day Disney channel sitcom. I wonder if he'd feel differently about it if the marketing strategies had been different. It's slightly ironic that they made him feel like a product but in one of the episodes where they bust a teen pornographer the whole message of the story was that it's bad to treat people like products.

You're right and he certainly got his longevity. He said in his early interviews that he wanted to be here for some time and he's been around for almost thirty years, since he was twenty. That's a long time.

Yeah I really noticed that😂 he would half-ass his lines and/or act like he was drugged up by constantly moving around/acting agitated. He even rolled his eyes before an action scene. I know it must’ve been hard on his cast mates, they had to put up with that.😂
I'm kinda shocked that Johnny didn't like "21 Jump Street" and thought the show was "junk". 😳. Why bother to take it, then? The show put him on the "map" and I'm enjoying watching the reruns (he's only a year older than me), so I'm a bit disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any gratitude. I mean, I get wanting to be taken seriously as an actor.. but let's be honest.. before Jump Street wasn't he a victim in one of the Elm Street movies? He wasn't even known. "Jump" gave him a steady paycheck and (even if it was unwanted) teen idol notoriety. With that he was able to jump ship and move on to bigger and better things. Makes me wonder why Steven (Fuller) only would say that Johnny was "different" and eccentric. I wonder if he complained on the set all the time about the series.😔❤️
Johnny says the first two seasons had good messages and at the beginning he liked the concept but when season 3 started the scrips got bad (so he says) and the show became just another mony making project. He started to not like it at THAT point. He also felt that he was stuck as an actor... the charactor Hanson got boring to him and he hated the heartthrob image. He had a longer contract though so he couldn't leave. He told some stories what he did on set in season 3 and 4 to be actually fired... but they didn't fire him, no matter what nonsense character-ideas he came up with (f.e. rubberband around his tongue) Which of course made him look "like an ass" (his words 😅). He simply was a little rebel at that point... he was still young. Lol. He still says the first years were a great acting school for him and taught him alot.
He didn't want to do the show from the beginning, as he didn't want to be locked into smth for years. But his agent kind of talked him into it & said that those kind of shows usu only last for about 13 episodes, so JD acquiesced, thinking it wasn't going to last
