I have to test when I get a chance using the correct notation. As far as I see now the -2x will give you a negative slope not good for the left part of the A, but it may be good for the right side of the A. Try it and play with the general form using sliders y=mx+b

OK i tested it, but only works for the right hand side of the letter A not the left hand side
