  • I found out the hard way that the lifters were not the problem. Watch to find out. also, in the video, I say porcelain for whatever idiotic reason. what I meant was ceramic. don't judge me. lol

Thanks for sharing i bought a used wrx, loud lifter noise, weird hesitant acceleration. Cobb reading is all fine, DAM has always stayed at 1. Will change spark plugs, hopefully thats the case

    Thanks for this video.
I thought you were going to say about the timing kit but you have now prepared me for more potential noises and what to troubleshoot.
I am assuming that after seeing one guys video before you that the sound I think sounds like rod knock is going to be from the timing pulleys or tensioner but you just helped to prevent the next major fears potentially! Thanks
So where do we get a true Ellison timing kit with water pump and should it be a metal gasket or paper from and where do we get true spark plugs(inexpensive ones just regular spark plugs) and did you find anyone who makes REAL WIRES NOT GRAPHITE FAKE WIRES or do I have to make them myself? What about the coil packs do you have experience with upping the power but quality lasting ones hopefully made in America?
I can ember back in the 70's before computer freaks and this deranged alien social order where despite learning about planned obsolescence we still had Real components you could literally repair down to a very small level.
Hopefully you will take to heart and spirit a compulsion to make for yourself so we can get back the option of American made and reclaim our proper abilities and re-design the car and motors back to the previous functionality that we have been blocked from by these alien greedy asses making the engines, trans, and cars for computers and mass automated production and such rediculous prices and low quality and endurance. God Bless all our new and up-commit g rebels. I never thought it would become this terrible. God damn Devil damnthese greedy alien scheisers.
God Bless and Devil Bless North America from when it was White Red Blue and Green and only maximal 16 million people and they only had to think about making a quality tool or equipment for lifes necessity instead of this false fake everything expensive can't maintain let alone repair anything garbage reality.
To get some of you as newborns and sequester you safely to isolated four season climates and properly raise/ rear them compared to this screwed reality and then transplant them amongst these imbasoul less than a retards ass dysfunctional scheisers. They are so stupid and dont know how stupid they are and fight to keep this garbage reality.

when you line up the crank pully line it puts the pistons at the zero point (middle of the block), might be quicker for anyone else doing timing ;)

My 2017 wrx seems like it has lifter tap, I did have an issue tightening the spark plug on the drivers side so I wonder if I’m experiencing this . Makes me want to double check that exact spark plug

OMG OMG OMG I just did head replacement on an ej25 now I have a lifter noise I didn't have before. I also swapped the plugs and got super cheap ones from worldpac. I didn't touch the lifter or the rocker arm. Nothing. I'm literally racing to work right now bc I'm so anxious to see if I'm having the same plug problem as you

@@czierwo Thank you! I just did a track day with my '12 Rex and developed a pretty loud tap.
