When NCT debuted everyone was really puzzled why would SM use 7th Sense, an intricate and sophisticated song with no repetitive hook which has become kpop staple, to launch its mega project. And while literally every big entertainment company ventures to the survival show mechanism to debut a new group, SM sticks to its training system. And now the launch of SM Classics just proves that SM Artists' songs are truly critically acclaimed, I can't wait to hear another orchestral rendition from other SM artists' songs. Maybe a SHINee song?

As a classical musician, I find this piece "okay", But as a reveluv for almost 6 years, my mind is over the roof, this is so entertaining. Despite all the negative things in it, SM is still the best entertainment agency.

Happy Eeyore just because it's performed by an orchestra doesn't mean it's classical. rebranding or not, it's still a specific genre made by "classical" composers that create orchestral music in specific ways, such as their symphonies and concertos for instruments that require orchestral instrumentations. even the modern and contemporary eras of music have distinctions of "classical" and the regular kinds of music you hear on the radio. there are still plenty of contemporary composers (zhou tian and philip glass, to state a few) in which they write music specifically for the "contemporary classical" genre. you cannot day that an orchestra playing a pop or non-classical song will automatically make that song an orchestral piece. that's not how it works. in fact, people that play pop music in string settings literally refer to them as "pops" when we play because they're not considered classical. even film scores (stuff by williams) aren't considered orchestral pieces per se; they're just considered film scores and those are even written FOR orchestra. i don't mean to be rude, i just hope for anyone seeing your comment to not be confused by it
Musically wise, SM will always be my favorite entertainment agency. They never fail to amaze me; from constantly making top-tier kpop groups, setting trends (they're just always ahead of time), and never afraid experimenting with their concepts and songs.

We may have many complaints about the shitty side of SM but we can't also deny and just overshadow the ideas this company have and offers. Their artists are such queens and kings, they are legends which is the reason of SMe's success.

Lastly, classical music is not the old music for the old people as some people would like to rebrand it to ‘orchestral music’
Happy Eeyore just because it's performed by an orchestra doesn't mean it's classical. rebranding or not, it's still a specific genre made by "classical" composers that create orchestral music in specific ways, such as their symphonies and concertos for instruments that require orchestral instrumentations. even the modern and contemporary eras of music have distinctions of "classical" and the regular kinds of music you hear on the radio. there are still plenty of contemporary composers (zhou tian and philip glass, to state a few) in which they write music specifically for the "contemporary classical" genre. you cannot day that an orchestra playing a pop or non-classical song will automatically make that song an orchestral piece. that's not how it works. in fact, people that play pop music in string settings literally refer to them as "pops" when we play because they're not considered classical. even film scores (stuff by williams) aren't considered orchestral pieces per se; they're just considered film scores and those are even written FOR orchestra. i don't mean to be rude, i just hope for anyone seeing your comment to not be confused by it
