The assigned matches would make for a good What If when we've seen all of the combatants. I feel like Jack having his match later might have an impact on events outside the tournament.
I love how jack flipped the usual anime crap with the whole "Im going to explain my entire shtick to you so you can figure out a strategy around it" He specifically tried to make you believe that was the case so you could think "What are the weaknesses of big scissors?" and by wasting your time bought more for himself Fooled hercules, the audience at the colosseum and the audience in real world and thats an amazing flip on the trope
The best part about it is that he managed to pull off such a bluff not once but twice in the same battle, first convincing everyone that his volund was the scissors, then the pouch, before finally revealing it was his gloves
One thing I’d like to say “spoiler alert” the explanation given was Buddha and Lokis conversation how the body could be strengthened by two ppl putting their lives on the line. Loki states that divine weapons were never that strong. So that explains why the humans can survive some of these hits. Even with these upgrades those hits really messed him up

I mean jack sees a bit of Hercules in goll and he did say he wanted to see him again after the fight... Sooo maybe it might be that at some point wayyyyy in the future, like after or close to the end of the tournament that she will be endangered in some way and Jack comes to save her dying in the process in some sort of way of redemption for him. Kojiro stepped up to help Buddha and Jack helped Goll. We are also getting their reactions in each battle like we did with the gods in the first half. What fight are you waiting for most though? Speaking of Jack, he's apparently gotten decently close to his Valkyrie. During the announcement of the latest fight and before it started, when they were going through different people viewing the fights through...God-Television? There's that panel of him having tea with her.
Yes, all of the surviving valkyries seems really got close with their assigned humans, Hrist also seems following Sasaki Kojiro everywhere (and probably always ready to turns into a sword again at any times considering Sasaki really likes to pick up a fights lol)
I'd say a lot more people around the world know about Lu Bu thanks to the Dynasty Warrior game series, as well as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is another adaption of the same information. In those games Lu Bu is an overpowered monster who is so feared that he is an insane boss encounter for many of the early games. The depiction of him in RoR matches up pretty well with how he is represented by those games.
I would think that Guan Yu would have been a better pick, since I would think he's more well known that Lu Bu, but it's still nice that he made a cameo during Lu Bu' fight
People that played those games will definitely know, but hes not nearly as much of a world wide figure as Jack or Hercules. I only found out about Lu Bu from this manga. I was hoping they did Miamoto Musashi at some point, but thats not gonna happen (also Baki already had an arc with him). What Asian character do you think would be cool?
You got there before me. But know that the DW series aren't as popular in the west as you'd think. But yes I (28) grew up with playing DW2 on the ps2 and grew to love the simplistic 1 vs 1000 battles 😀
This fight was the one for real , Jack was workin' man's from start to finish Btw If you like RoR or Baki I'd recommend Kengan Ashura and Omega ( the manga is a great read )
Tbf i thought Adam vs Zeus was the best fight. Adam’s quote of ”What reason does a father need to protect his child?” Was so good. Heracles vs Jack is definetly in my top 3 fights together with Shiva vs Raiden
Idk that was a good one but for me it was Adam vs Zeus, it was the God fighting for nothing but fun vs a proud and protective father fighting for his children. It was the most moving fight in my opinion
What’s funny, a UA-camr added music to these manga fights and that’s what got me into this series, *AmiasD* if not for him, would have never even known about this, that *London Bridge* song was what he used in the video and started the trend with people adding that music to the fight.
My favorite fight so far is the current one (spoiler alert)... Hades vs Qin Shi Huang. Was excited when they introduced Hades and was happy when he announced he was fighting in the tournament. I'm hoping Hades pulls off the victory. Hope you make more videos with Record of Ragnarok!
BTW is Qin Shi Huang the same as Ei Sei as depicted in Kingdom? He's the king to unite China right? So I figured it's the same guy. Is it just a different translation or did his name change name after unifying China. Not sure if you know?
Jack vs. Hercules is my favorite match so far, but the current match, Qin Shi Huang vs. Hades, is leaving me close to the edge. I don't know how it will end since it's both 50/50 as to who will win/lose.
Just FYI for anyone interested in this series, without giving anything away, there are several storylines other than the main plot point. One of which I believe will become the main plot.
@@pcbangbros8350 well, there is at least one side story that's a spinoff manga, but in this context I meant there are subplots within the main storyline that seem interesting. Honestly I don't even remember what was in this video and I'm replying as best I can.
TEKKING! I just want to say on behalf of the RoR community, thank you. We love this manga and are always hoping to get more people on board. Unfortunately, the anime turned a lot of people away from us, so it’s been hard for us to get back on our feet. So, thank you for showing your fandom this manga!
I have never clicked so fast, this is my favorite battle so far, and made me so invested in the story. Glad to see one of my favorites covering the battle
I'm so happy you're covering Records of Ragnarok!! Would it be too much to ask for videos about the other fights???? I would gladly watch them! Great content as always!!
Round 4 is hands down my favorite. Waiting to see how it gets animated. Also hyped to see you talking about the series, would love more SMV or Kengan content. 👀
Potential arenas that the earlier rounds could have had: Round 1) I actually think the base arena works well for round 1. It fits both characters, and doesn't get too crazy that early on. Both fighters were very straight forward and wanted to cut the BS and get to fighting. Round 2) I'd have done a recreation of the garden of eden. Essentially just a lush forest that Zeus would tear through while hunting Adam, giving Adam time to observe from afar and study his moveset. Round 3) I'd have liked to see feudal Tokyo or Kyoto, only for it to be completely flooded by the end, motivating Sasaki to fight harder when he sees a city from his home nation destroyed. Round 4) keep the same. Round 5) I'd have loved for the arena to become a full on wrestling ring. Even the stands turn into WWE style stands, and Heimdall's horn becomes a, old timey wrestling match microphone. And of course, the actual fighting arena is a metal cage match ring on an elevated wrestling match a-la WWE. Round 6) A grand Buddhist temple, since both fighters were Buddhist deities. Maybe halfway through, when Hajun shows up, the sitting Buddha statue in the background is completely destroyed. Round 7) Qin, over confident, allows Hades to set the match in Hellheim, showing us the realm that was teased in the prior fight by Hajun.
Zeus hunting Adam would destroy his character Adam wasn’t scared of the gods and wouldn’t run or hide from them that’s why he chose to just straight up punch and fist fight zues
@@DEAD-jm1ny Never did I say Adam was "scared" of Zeus or the gods, or that he was going to "run or hide." My point is that the fight would have been a lot more interesting if Adam tried to deal with Zeus the easy way (punching) but quickly realized that wouldn't be enough, and instead stepped back and spent more time analyzing Zeus and dissecting his power set in order to better counter the greek power house. Making a character a little more clever and thoughtful certainly does *not* "destroy" their character lmfao.
This is my absolute favorite fight in the series. Jacks abilities and the triple fake out was so good. Praying they switch animation studios for the second season, and we get an incredible fight.
I remember seeing King Leonidas’s name in the pool for human fighters. I kinda want to see how some of the Greek gods, particularly Ares respond to Leonidas.
@@idkmehboi1972 well, we can assume the rifle will be his Volund, but not every fight needs to be a back and forth. Thor vs Lu Bu was more or less a one sided beat down.
Please do more record of ragnarok. The fact that you love history and mythology and you have such a detailed overview of this specific fight, keep going. I think it could be a cool way to show people ur love for history and mythology while also still sticking to manga/anime. But that’s only my opinion you do whatever you want Tekking 👍.
Lu Bu is in Dynasty Warriors so western people who played it know about him. Kojiro Sasaki was in Samurai Warriors. Learned about both of them from those series.
One thing about Jack the Ripper VS Hercules's finally, the moral I took of the story, was that anyone can change if they have someone to look up to. By the end, Jack the Ripper failed to change Hercules's soul but the final embrace from Hercules changed something inside him. It is possible for him to change, to stop killing, to choose to protect as Hercules had done. Every human needs a role model, and his mother or his father wasn't the best example and the hooker that knew him and his mother wasn't willing to step up because she already gave up, but was being changed by Jack until the unfortunate event happened. (which is why I hated seeing her still drinking when she appeared in the stands, because it would have been very symbolic had she given up drinking completely after seeing the 'mess' that jack made because if it had been another week, maybe even just 3 more days, she probably would have given up on drinking for the little brat that always smiled to her about making the best of your life)
That wasn't his mother, it was the woman who he met on the staircase that felt pity and asked "If the gods could love him." As a way of asking for someone to show him true love.
I've been following this manga for about a year and I love it. I'm glad that despite the anime (altough I don't think it's that bad) the fanbase has kept growing. So glad Tekking has made a video on it
My favorite fighter is Adam hands down, but even despite that I can’t give his fight a first place. I can’t shake my love for the third round. Underdog tales always gets me.
I'm personally torn between Adam vs Zeus and Jack vs Hercules for my favorite fight. The first one purely because of Adam. The latter, tho. I love the contrast between Jack and Hercules. I also like that the manga has sort of made us side with the humans from the previous fights, then all of a sudden give us the gentleman asshole in Jack. Lol.
Tekking never ceases to make the best content. I've watched all of the Record of Ragnarok anime already, but am yet to read the manga. I love getting the information from Tekking first because he makes it sound more exciting. Then I go into the manga with excitement in the parts he talks about.
Jack is my favorite character so far Buddha came close but Jack's backstory his wits and just the overall cunning of jack the ripper against Hercules is just badass I can't explain it I was just so invested in jack
I like this fight because: 1. Characters Both characters are really likeable, unlike other fights where there is a clear pick, for example adam vs zeus, everyone was cheering for adam, then there is raiden vs shiva, everyone was cheering for shiva, this time both are just amazing picks, no matter who you pick you pick correctly. 2. Setting The setting of this fight was unique, the biggest stage, the longest fight, the only fight at night, the only fight where the human is bad, the only fight where humanity doesn't cheer for their fighter, this is just the best fight.
I gotta admit, I saw the video title and wondered when Hercules was in One Piece and when he fought a mammoth XD That being said, my absolute favorite fight and really enjoyed hearing Tekking talk about it!
Its great to see you talk about this amazing manga. Jack vs Hercules is currently my favorite fight as well and I am really excited to see Simo Häyhä's fight in the future.

I think his duty to the gods meant more to him than his love for Humanity. I think he held nothing back to prove that Humanity can overcome the gods by themselves. But then Buddha came along and stuck a middle finger to that idea (Humanity needs divine help) 😂
@@NixLotus The difference between Buddah & Heracles is that Heracles is a human that became elevated to divinity by external forces. Buddah became it by internal forces. So he never 'agreed' to be a god.
I think that's the point of the fight. It stands out from the rest by being an ideological battle instead of a straight-up brawl. Heracles goes through a drastic change in perspective after he understands why Jack became infatuated with the color of 'fear'. He understands they were essentially one and the same, both battered by the harsh reality of growing up in poverty and powerlessness; the difference being that Jack couldn't handle the beatings from life, while Heracles had the unshakable willpower to power through everything. Which is why Heracles claims "I will save you from your suffering" at the end of ch. 27. And hell, he immediately puts a timer on himself right after saying that, and then spends much of that precious time letting Jack get back up from his attack. As I see it, he has to die against Jack in order to show him that genuine love is both incorruptible by death and a more beautiful color than 'fear', thus saving Jack from his despair.
There are a few reasons: At the time, the tally was 2:1 god’s favor, and ESPECIALLY the ending of Zeus vs Adam there’s this moment of “oh shit, humanity WILL die if we don’t win the next fight” and WHOM does it pit up? Heracles, golden boy beloved by both gods AND humanity, the mortal that became a god vs Jack the Ripper, humanity’s worst and most well known serial killer. Only enhanced by Jack’s tactics in this fight and the conclusion of it!
Got context from Loki as to why the humans can take a hit. The Volundr is the spirit realms technique given to the Valkyries by Buddha meaning both fuse. Human doesn’t just get a weapon, they are given the strength of the Valkyrie they fuse with to take and deal damage. They become more like demigods during the Volundr.
the one thing i enjoyed about jack was his ability to see the color of souls i always thought that was interesting and wondered what it would be like if applied to music
Lol yeah it would be interesting but your right the closest thing we have to what he had in the anime would be synesthesia but it’s very rare only some people with autism have it.
I'm not sure if someone already said this but the reason why Jack was able to take the hits from Hercules was because he was cover himself with his own blood (which he turned divine) he smears it on his face when he tells Hercules that he wants to see his color.
Ahh man now I want to see Tekking talk about Fate Grand/Order. His take on LB 5 part 1 would be interesting (Greek gods are originally alien machines). Heracles is also part of the Argonauts which was basically the super team of Greek mythology. Heracles is a an OG Fate Stay Night and his class reduces him to a murder machine. Jack is in the game but they are instead an amalgamation of the aborted fetuses. They do have different version not in FGO.
Tekking my guy, I won't lie, I had a dark life growing up with a condition that led to challenges in my life. I definitely understood Jack the Ripper's perspective because I had to defend myself from people I didn't want to many times and it made me question the colors of morality. I ended up becoming very analytical, improvisional and observant as a result. I also ended up learning martial arts through friends but at times when it feels like the World doesn't want you, even without a mask your very reaction everyone in adversity is a mask in itself. The reason I do like to analyze even the darkest of characters is because of how in practicality they were not bestowed with morals to begin with and therefore never saw themself going astray. Herculese and Jack the ripper explored how both paths of lives of adversity can lead either to glorification or to corruption depending on your guidance or lack of with simply the change in your enviroment. Herculese obviously went through the 12 labors to claim his seat in Olympus and the God's acknowledgement but being demi God had compassion for humanity. In Jack's case, the crowd assumed with the recordings saying he slayed prostitutes and nobles that he had no empathy to begin with. There are those who are called Dark Empaths who do anything to see their actions saw through and can manipulate and feel people's emotions which is what Jack was the ultimate epitome of along with his ability of seeing Auras as colors. Jack being branded without his origins known, was what put the bullseye on his back and even people to hate him on both sides whether he win or lost. Which is ironic because his actions would theoretically save more than he killed. As the fight continued and he noticed Herculese never corrupting in adversity, in conversely made him think about how he instantly snapped and killed his mother when he found out all she wanted was to marry a noble and therefore, shattering his entire empathetic compass but in a way also made him realize how fast he snapped compared to Herculese. Yes, Jack was trying to make Herculese become just as corrupt as he was but during the fight, as a human in the face of a god he was always searching for ways to survive using Anything and Everything as a way to survive which is why the Gloves were a perfect metaphor for Jack's Weapon, in the hands of a killer anything can be a weapon. The fact that he overcame synchronizing with the Valkyrie by relating her to his origins which was strangling her helplessly while nobody helped was proof enough that he was way beyond intelligent. The fact that Jack produced probably clotheslines and morphed into wire with his gloves and walked away to sit for tea and then changed a regular pair of scissors and sat down pre-hand was mind boggling even for the reader. The most Ironic part was, when Herculese was being proud saying let me put you out of your misery after jack god impaled, Jack knew Herculese let his guard down because his pride as a God placing judgement on a human got in the way of him realizing Jack used his Blood as coating to pierce God's skin. As for the coating with blood on his hands and using both of them, I saw it as because his hands were coated with blood to him Herculese's body was just another body and with his regular killer impulses he thrust right into a vital spot and gouged his organs with his foot planted on the ground and a thrust it was bound to do damage. Ironically, Herculese while placing the Judgement, Fighting and Dying kept wanting to save Jack from his own corruption and with that half-hug he showed more affection for Jack than anyone ever did in his entire life which was why Jack was caught so off guard when everyone from the Human side threw stuff at him due to the fact he asked "What color am I now?" Jack The Ripper was my favorite fight too, he was a man who lived and died in this story for survival after being corrupted. He didn't have a moral compass but he compared everything to the colors he saw when he was young.
10:00 to be fair (at least in the terms of hercules) it seems totally fair that there was a version of the story in which he was tasked by zeus to become a full-fledged olympian although I doubt that logic would apply for everyone else
I remember humanity boo’ing him(Jack) when he won not because of what he did but because of who he killed. Herc in RoR was a human who became a god and loved humanity to the point where he said he’d fight because it was his duty but that he would advocate for humanity. And as far as Jacks character moving forward i would say he is more approachable now. Because Herc couldnt save humanity his way but he saved Jack. He in his final moments accepted Jack, and gave him unconditional love and his aura in Jack’s eyes was just as radiant as his mother’s. He even helped the little valkerie when she got caught up with the 7 lucku gods before the Zero-fuku situation.
Jack vs Hercules was maybe my least favorite fight in the series, so excited to hear your thoughts on it. Personally really enjoyed Sasaki vs Poseidon, and looking forward very much to the most current matchup
I really like what they did with jack at the end of the fight and with him showing up again later. It tells you that the person who left the arena isn't the same as the as the one who entered it (something that could be said for all the matches). Jack's is particularly interesting because, at least to me, it seem to be the start of his redemption. But that's just how I saw it.
I liked the fight with the swordsman a lot. A big upset fight for me was the one with the sumo guy. This fight was really good as well, but I don’t think it was as good as those two
This is my favorite fight in all of manga. So glad to see you examine and appreciate my guy. Jack vs Heracles gives me the feels everytime I see it. An evil vs good narrative that's not so simple it's truly beautiful
When each fight is basically a final showdown in any anime you know record of Ragnarok is amazing. Also double that with how each side gets a ton of development and story on top of a well made fight. Only problem is it's basically Asia right side vs European and western Asia countries not much variety as most of the cast is Japanese and Chinese Spoilers btw. Best fight is definitely the jack vs hercules one as they humanize jack so much and you are how terrible his life was and his dream. Hercules while not my favorite version of him was still a true hero and overall one of the better ones done. Thor vs luu buu is a great show of the power Difference between man and God. Adam vs zues was just a shock to see zues fight so early which is amazing subversion. Kojurou vs posiden was amazing as the win felt so earned you cheered as much as they did. Sumi guy vs Sheva was great as Sheva was hyped up so much. When we got the buddah helping us that was especially gut wrenching with zero being a normal guy wanting to help but in the wrong way. QSH vs Hades is great.
Best fights in order for me. Jack vs hercules. Buddah vs zero. Kojurou vs posiden. Thor vs luu buu and Sheva vs sumo guy while not counting qsh vs Hades yet. None of these fights are bad it's just how I like them. Sheva was gurenteed to win as he had better support from his wives and brother and son overall while Sumo guy is just his friends. That's why it's lower. Luu buu is a shock at how powerful a god is and really shows you the dangerous situations and so on. Honestly being a fate fan. I wish these were the Characters instead as they are miles better than the fate versions especially the Valkyrie.
Small fact for Tekking and co. Hercules real name is Heracles. The Romans, of course, stole the story from the Greeks and named him Hercules. Unfortunately, Hercules prevailed and thanks to Hollywood everyone calls and knows him only under Hercules. But the name Heracles makes more sense. Just because it contains the name of his stepmother who hates him so much and who made his life hell. Is even more blatant to share the name with that woman. He was also named that way by Zeus on purpose, so that his wife would be happy that he named him after her. Of course, it only made Hera even more angry and only hated Heracles even more that the living shame was named after her.
Hot take: I thought it was a bit disappointing. Jack was just edgelord bait for the younger teenage readers. And Hercules was spamming his labours for no reason even though they were self-damaging. The ending was good though. When Hercules gave him a hug right as he's dying, I felt something.
Jack vs Hercules is definitely a top tier throwdown in my top 3 but the ending of the fight is why it's one of my favorite also Sasaki Kojiro vs Poseidon goes too hard for me it's my favorite fight bar none
If you start making regular Record of Ragnarok videos, I will instantly tune in as fast as I can following the upload. I'm all in if you start discussing that addictive series.
Honestly am still bothered by the butchering of Heracles' legend, they practically changed almost all of it and made a mockery of who he was. Heracles didn't need a god juice to beat up Gods, he did so on his own in the myths including Thanatos and Ares. I get it, the whole "artists can do whatever they want" logic, but it's one of the things that really sours any enjoyment I could get out it.
@@ckamo10 It's perfectly fine to just not care and enjoy the fights but there's folk who crave a bit more respect towards the classics which japan really doesn't tend to do.

Speaking of Jack, he's apparently gotten decently close to his Valkyrie. During the announcement of the latest fight and before it started, when they were going through different people viewing the fights through...God-Television? There's that panel of him having tea with her.
I mean they are bounded to eachthor now as there souls are one i say better know eachthor if your gonna be stuck with eachthor
Yes, all of the surviving valkyries seems really got close with their assigned humans, Hrist also seems following Sasaki Kojiro everywhere (and probably always ready to turns into a sword again at any times considering Sasaki really likes to pick up a fights lol)
Godtube.
He used Stockholm syndrome on a Demi god to bound her to his will forever.
Makes sense tbh
Sasaki is one thing, but with Jack it’s clearly Stockholm syndrome. Which makes sense since he’s a psychopathic serial killer.
I learned a bit about Lu Bu through Oversimplified Three Kingdoms.
You got there before me. But know that the DW series aren't as popular in the west as you'd think. But yes I (28) grew up with playing DW2 on the ps2 and grew to love the simplistic 1 vs 1000 battles 😀
Yep, as a fan of the Warrior series seeing Lu Bu introduced started the hype train for me immediately when I first started reading RoR.
This fight was the one for real , Jack was workin' man's from start to finish
Btw If you like RoR or Baki I'd recommend Kengan Ashura and Omega ( the manga is a great read )
Tbf i thought Adam vs Zeus was the best fight. Adam’s quote of ”What reason does a father need to protect his child?” Was so good. Heracles vs Jack is definetly in my top 3 fights together with Shiva vs Raiden
My favorite fight was what got me into the series, *The Greatest Loser Vs. The God That’s Never Known Defeat.*
100 percent
How tf are you everywhere?
Idk that was a good one but for me it was Adam vs Zeus, it was the God fighting for nothing but fun vs a proud and protective father fighting for his children. It was the most moving fight in my opinion
What’s funny, a UA-camr added music to these manga fights and that’s what got me into this series, *AmiasD* if not for him, would have never even known about this, that *London Bridge* song was what he used in the video and started the trend with people adding that music to the fight.
Same saw it on UA-cam with Adam and Zeus love the series ever since
Glad I'm not the only one who remembers the greatness of those videos.
Adam v Zeus was recommended to me for months until I caved in and it was an amazing experience. Then I read all the other fights
Yes! I can’t thank him enough now I’m up to date in the manga cause of him
thats how i found the series my self im sure he got a few people into the series
My favorite fight so far is the current one (spoiler alert)... Hades vs Qin Shi Huang. Was excited when they introduced Hades and was happy when he announced he was fighting in the tournament. I'm hoping Hades pulls off the victory. Hope you make more videos with Record of Ragnarok!
how can it be your favourite, when pretty much nothing happened yet ?
BTW is Qin Shi Huang the same as Ei Sei as depicted in Kingdom? He's the king to unite China right? So I figured it's the same guy. Is it just a different translation or did his name change name after unifying China. Not sure if you know?

Just FYI for anyone interested in this series, without giving anything away, there are several storylines other than the main plot point. One of which I believe will become the main plot.
What one are you referring to?

@@sammehlberg6664 Are they different mangas? Or side stories? or just sub stories in the current main plot?
@@pcbangbros8350 well, there is at least one side story that's a spinoff manga, but in this context I meant there are subplots within the main storyline that seem interesting. Honestly I don't even remember what was in this video and I'm replying as best I can.
TEKKING! I just want to say on behalf of the RoR community, thank you. We love this manga and are always hoping to get more people on board. Unfortunately, the anime turned a lot of people away from us, so it’s been hard for us to get back on our feet. So, thank you for showing your fandom this manga!
Jack vs Hercules was one of the most beautiful fights I’ve ever read
I have never clicked so fast, this is my favorite battle so far, and made me so invested in the story. Glad to see one of my favorites covering the battle
The reason Jack vs Heracles is so good is because it's the one fight that isn't just a slugfest
I mean Poseidon vs Kojirou wasn't a slugfest either and more an onslaught of waves vs human technique that reached and surmounted the Gods.
Adam vs zeus was almost pure slugfest and it was perfection
I'm so happy you're covering Records of Ragnarok!! Would it be too much to ask for videos about the other fights???? I would gladly watch them! Great content as always!!
Round 4 is hands down my favorite. Waiting to see how it gets animated. Also hyped to see you talking about the series, would love more SMV or Kengan content. 👀
Potential arenas that the earlier rounds could have had:
Round 1) I actually think the base arena works well for round 1.
Ugh tekking… you know you have to every fight in this series now right? Plz we need it 🥰🥰
This is my absolute favorite fight in the series.
He's definitely fighting odin

@@idkmehboi1972 I’m more expecting Simo Haya “the White Death” to take on Odin. The greatest sniper versus the spear that never misses

True but Hercules and Jack the Ripper are two names that anyone not living under a rock would know
I know Sasaki from fate
Kojiro is in a lot of manga too
@@jkillerlioncat324 then again if you're deep enough into fate you know basically every historical character at least marginally.
So happy you decided to talk about this series finally! It deserves WAYYYY more attention than it gets (mostly due to its shitty anime adaptation).
Wasn't expecting this from you Tekking, this is awesome.
@@alejandrosolano6891 Read it again and tell me where I made that mistake?
The sound playing in the background for Jack is amazing
Fun fact hercules is the Roman name and Heracles is the Greek name
Tekking briefly mentioned this.
This fight was my introduction to Record of Ragnarok. It popped up recommended to me on UA-cam, and hooked me on the series.
I've been following this manga for about a year and I love it. I'm glad that despite the anime (altough I don't think it's that bad) the fanbase has kept growing. So glad Tekking has made a video on it
I am SO incredibly hyped to watch this video. One of my favorite current manga with one of my favorite current youtubers. Let’s GO!
My favorite fighter is Adam hands down, but even despite that I can’t give his fight a first place. I can’t shake my love for the third round. Underdog tales always gets me.
Thank you for the record of ragnorok content, I can’t get enough of this manga these days
If you posted less videos but were more tidy and organized like this I don't think a single person would be upset, this was absolutely amazing
YES! Love this manga! As a fellow lover of mythology, would love to see you analyze all the fights so far!!!
I like this fight because:
1. Characters
Both characters are really likeable, unlike other fights where there is a clear pick, for example adam vs zeus, everyone was cheering for adam, then there is raiden vs shiva, everyone was cheering for shiva, this time both are just amazing picks, no matter who you pick you pick correctly.
2. Setting
The setting of this fight was unique, the biggest stage, the longest fight, the only fight at night, the only fight where the human is bad, the only fight where humanity doesn't cheer for their fighter, this is just the best fight.
I gotta admit, I saw the video title and wondered when Hercules was in One Piece and when he fought a mammoth XD
That being said, my absolute favorite fight and really enjoyed hearing Tekking talk about it!
So glad you're covering this! Would love to see you talk about it more :)
Its great to see you talk about this amazing manga. Jack vs Hercules is currently my favorite fight as well and I am really excited to see Simo Häyhä's fight in the future.

Im so happy you made a record of ragnarok video, this manga is absolutely amazing I'm loving it so much. The symbolism and themes throughout are incredible and the story, while simple, is detailed and layered. Samshing vid, hope you make more soon xD
My theory was that Hercules was always in the humanity side, so he kinda let Jack win
Nah man. I remember he clearly going for the killing blow before Jack got a second wind and finished him with Dear God.
God I love it that tekking is not only talking about one of my favorite manga but also my favorite fight in the series.
Even tho I didn’t know who sasake was, that still turned out to be my favorite fight. That said, Jack the Ripper vs Hercules is a close second.
I’m just glad mother big UA-camr knows about this criminally underwatched manga
There are a few reasons:
At the time, the tally was 2:1 god’s favor, and ESPECIALLY the ending of Zeus vs Adam there’s this moment of “oh shit, humanity WILL die if we don’t win the next fight” and WHOM does it pit up? Heracles, golden boy beloved by both gods AND humanity, the mortal that became a god vs Jack the Ripper, humanity’s worst and most well known serial killer. Only enhanced by Jack’s tactics in this fight and the conclusion of it!
So happy there’s a UA-camr as yourself who likes this manga as much as I do and hope u continue to do more videos on it
Nice to see you branching out to RoR. Match 4 is my favorite and the thematic dynamic is great.
SO GLAD TO SEE YOU COVERING THIS MANGA. Read this on a whim and it was an instant classic for me
In the manga when Jack the Ripper was being introduced their was a guy in the stans eating popcorn. I can imagine Tekking being that guy
Always fun to see you expand your content my dude
I'm not sure if someone already said this but the reason why Jack was able to take the hits from Hercules was because he was cover himself with his own blood (which he turned divine) he smears it on his face when he tells Hercules that he wants to see his color.
Oh that's genius! He made everyone assume he was just nuts (which, well, a little bit), but it was all part of his mad genius plan.
Holy shit, I never expected him to talk about ror but it is the best surprise we could have gotten
Tekking my guy,
I won't lie, I had a dark life growing up with a condition that led to challenges in my life.
Ironically, Herculese while placing the Judgement, Fighting and Dying kept wanting to save Jack from his own corruption and with that half-hug he showed more affection for Jack than anyone ever did in his entire life which was why Jack was caught so off guard when everyone from the Human side threw stuff at him due to the fact he asked "What color am I now?"
Jack The Ripper was my favorite fight too, he was a man who lived and died in this story for survival after being corrupted.
But still love the vid man keep it up
Jack vs Hercules was maybe my least favorite fight in the series, so excited to hear your thoughts on it. Personally really enjoyed Sasaki vs Poseidon, and looking forward very much to the most current matchup
This was a great analysis of the most complex fight so far; it's great to see you're doing something with RoR
Round 6 is my favorite. I just find Buddha to be the most interesting character with the best fighting style.
Not going to lie Matt, I learned about Lu Bu as a child...he's world famous for sure. The infamous general and his horse red hare 🔥
Bring back the black clover, jojo and/or vinland saga videos and more RoR vids
I binged this in one day. It’s pretty great
Best fights in order for me.
Seeing my favorite anime-based channel youtuber covering one of my favorite manga is amazing
Water is wet

Hot take: I thought it was a bit disappointing. Jack was just edgelord bait for the younger teenage readers. And Hercules was spamming his labours for no reason even though they were self-damaging.
