Celebration Day for Cricket. Greatest ODI ever played. Australia luvs playing in Joberg. Great parochial crowd that appreciates a visit from world class players. At 10:40 Ponting thanks the crowd properly. Historical day's cricket led by 2 fine attacking captains. Ponting down on one knee driving is always a treat...he's more slogging in this knock but still a treat to watch.

The pitch was a road, it was a lightning fast outfield with small boundaries, perfect for smashing people all over the park. Ponting was at his peak at this time so it's not like he needed a lot of help to carve attacks up! He was magnificent. He was my favourite cricketer too so this was just manna from heaven for this Australian! I was so pumped by Ponting's onslaught and Australia finally topping the long sought after 400 target that I couldn't go to sleep as I'd intended to after the Australian innings as it was already past midnight in Sydney. So I was still awake when the South African innings started. Early wicket and I figure "Ahh, this'll be a cakewalk, I'll go to bed soon!" Then Smith and Gibbs start smashing us. It's exciting to watch and they're up with the run rate so I'm like "Once the slogfest ends and we take control I'll go to bed." I never did get to bed :) I was a bit irritated with Punter's captaincy as Symonds and Clarke were putting the brakes on as pace off the ball was at least making the batters work for their meals but he went with the standard approach and went back to his quicks. Unfortunately the ball proceeded to disappear to all corners and South Africa scored the epic win. I wasn't too bothered as it was such a wonderful game of cricket and it wasn't a World Cup!

The job was given to Tendulkar was not to win games for India, his job was to make milestones so BCCI can profit from him since # 1 ranking comes from stats not from that how many games that u have won for your country. Thats why indian pitches were purposely made flat with shot boundaries so it's easy to score high. Same thing goes for Kholi too, have you ever wonder why Kholi never play risky shorts like swipe short, switch hits or cut shorts. Because chances of getting out is higher when u attempt to play those shorts and he had been told not play those short. He had been told to play risk free Cricket shorts not like ab De Villiers. So you can say that BCCI create superstars to make profit from them. You can make good money in any sports if the #1 superstar from your country.
