My favourite sunny quote. "Your addiction has affected us in the following ways; you are annooooying!"
As much as it’s a joke that he uses his Juliard (sp) training for this show…he delivers lines so good to the character that I’m always ironically reminded that he’s trained at the highest level lol
@@jsmithers.Your the clown , buddy.

“I don’t know how many years on this earth I got left, but I’m gonna get real weird with it” was my senior quote in high school. Best episode in the series
Dude, that episode still makes me cry with laughter today. Frank just gargling beer down his face and Mac looking confused and disgusted.
@@TheIncredibleStories you can tell they cut that scene off right as he was foaming at the mouth cuz I'm positive Danny laughed hard and spewed the beer everywhere
I just want to acknowledge the grain in this video that appears when Charlie is talking about film grain, it was a beautiful touch and I need the editor to know that we noticed. A++.
I love Megan's podcast arc of just being background production to basically the host of the show. She really steers the ship in a great entertaining direction.
She's like the viewer perspective on the podcast right now because she wasn't working on the show yet, so its great for her to ask the questions we viewers want to ask
@@TheWolf-fx3zo well I don't listen to a thousand other podcasts so I wouldn't know ya jabroni
I love how freeform the show was for the first few dozen episodes, sometimes the guys would only spend 10 minutes or less talking about that weeks episode, and then, Megan - also representing fans of the show - swooped in and structured it up. Also a fellow frizzed hair haver, I loved seeing and hearing her embrace her natural curls!
Glenns commitment to the continuity gag throughout the whole podcast made me smile a whole lot
@@johndonovan2743 on that note im with @paulthough lol. I was half creep/half listener during the episode so i didnt even notice!
"I came in from outside" Rob's entry had peak Mac energy and I love it.
So great. It seems correct that podcast episode about the episode with most of my favorite lines of the show also has one of my favorite lines in the podcast.
Furious that neither of them acknowledged Charlie saying “if you’re coming in from somewhere, it tends to be outside” 😂
One of the funniest moments in the episode is Frank walking into the bar, cocking his gun and saying “WHERES THE FIRE???” Like what was the gun supposed to do 😂😂😂
That was exactly what I was gonna mention -- it's so ridiculous and nothing is really made of what he expects to be able to do against a fire with a pistol
I really appreciate that Meg is actually a fan of the show first. So many studios don’t actually listen to the fans but they have one writing / directing.
She's not just a fan though. She was an award winning professional writer before working on Sunny. Studios are right to ignore the average fan. The average fan is stupid and has no writing experience.
@@cm9241 I didn’t say she was “just” a fan. I merely said that I appreciate that she’s a fan. You can tell because she quotes it all the time haha.
@@daveman4321 she was a fan the way that most writers are able to enjoy other media. i think it's the convention of your statement, it's usually applied to people who go from "fan" to "professional". in her case, she was writer professional writer who got to be a writer on a show she liked. you wouldn't say any of their directors were a fan first, they wouldn't agree to direct a project they weren't fans of. i know you don't mean poorly and honestly, it's not something to get hung up on. but that's why the other commenter responded the way they did. you spoke about her like we talk about normies with no professional experience and didn't address how extremely normal her path actually was.
@@herb_rollsive seen a couple directors seem like they absolutely hate the project they signed on for. Seinfeld had one or two guest directors that almost effed it up to the point it seemed like they hated it. There are a bunch of critically acclaimed films that their directors disown too. They might have liked the concept beforehand but hate their work but its essentially the same bag.
One of the best subtle gags in this episode (and arguably of the entire series, apart from Dee looking more and more like a bird until she finally became an ostrich) is the ever-increasing red staining of their mouths as each one of them discovers the wine in the can idea.

The guys are promising the return of a character from Season 1: my guesses are Terrell Jenkins from ep 1, Mac's gay cousin Brett from ep 1, Tommy the "son" from ep 2, Trey and Tammy the high school kids from ep 3 or Charlie's sister who never appeared after ep 7.
It could also be Carmen or Pop-pop, but they've appeared in later seasons and it sounds like the guys are talking about a character who appeared just once, so it's probably not them.
It's great to have the podcast back and to have the guys discussing the episodes in depth like this! Hope this is the standard going forward. In particular, I'm looking forward to Marder and Rosell on the DENNIS System episode of the podcast!
Charlie's sisterS, there are two girls in that scene, though only one is mentioned by Charlie afterwards. Makes sense for it to be them given how Glenn makes a note of how Rob says "this character" at the end of this episode, implying there's more than one
I like how they tell us to go watch the episode like I don't watch it once a month as I cycle through the whole series every night when I'm going to bed
haha legit. I have probably watched the entire series some 30 times at this point. Maybe more.
That tease of the character, that HAS to be Charlie's sister. It's always been so weird that they mentioned that Charlie has a sister in s1 and then never adressed it again
i think you are right and i think they will probably try to address charlies surname continuity error at the same time
@2665andy when Charlie met his father in Ireland his surname was Kelly. Charlie's mum's name is Kelly too which is fair enough she could have take his dad's name. But Charlie's uncle Jack is also Kelly.
I think the answer will involve incest hahah
“It’s not worth the calories” is something Dennis would say. One of my favorite episodes. “I’m gonna get real weird with it.”
reminds me of them being stoned with country mac and he goes “calorie-wise these are gonna set me back but i dont even give a shit”
@@RealTalkAlexV stop cultivating. Start harvesting (searches for that episode immediately)
Charlie playing a jingle on the piano, Glenn suffering in his corporeal form, and Rob "just came in from outside". They really are just sane Charlie, Mac amd Dennis
Kaitlin's drunk acting is the best and shines to me no brighter ep than this. broad and specific, realistic and committed and hysterically funny. the way she drunkenly bounces around during the intervention is perfect. complete chaos agent
She is a comedic genius. My spouse and I cry-laugh every single time we watch the ep where she does her standup routine.
When she stumbled into Mr Kim’s restaurant as a health inspector she was absolutely spot on
Megan understands comedy the way a math genius understands math
@@cecilglocky2927 just objectively wrong, and you've just admitted to not watching season 16

"Nobody wants to salt the snail!" Also Charlie's "That was a terrible experience for me" after salting the snail 😂
The mined salting from the first scene to Charlie's trauma after having to resort to it... Amazing
i cannot like this post... the like count is 69, & i refuse to be the one to break it. you understand.
but also, yes i concur
Frank's reaction to Mac (in his mind) just suddenly appearing beside him is one of the funniest moments in the entire show to be honest
Megs outside point of view of the episodes always feels so relatable and brings these pods together, I discovered sunny a few years ago and have binged it multiple times and every time she talks about an episode I feel like she’s describing my view of it, you guys are the best I hope this show and these pods never end.
Glen both being obsessed with Farley and never seeing Tommy Boy is the epitome of paradox. I’ve been frustrated but never more….
Yeahhh that’s pretty bad. Even people who don’t like Farley have seen that haha felt like when you see yuppy kids wearing Pink Floyd and Slayer shirts, it’s like uh huh……name ONE song lol
Mind blowing to me. Also hard disagree on Black sheep. It doesn’t suck it’s just not as fleshed out as Tommy boy. Still hilarious and has some heart in there.
@@zrayburton Hard agree with you. Black Sheep is fun. It's still funny. The boulder scene always kills me.

Gail is amazing lol, I love when she does the spit at the bar and you can see the actress start to crack up and gets out out frame
And later in the Boggs reboot on the airplane, Gail does a hilariously awkward and off-putting hip pumps
Absolutely lost it when Glenn turned the hat around for the continuity gag 😂😭
The continuity bit was absolutely brilliant
Boys are out tonight, huh? Great to see you back, thanks for all the laughs at the RAH a couple weekends back, an absolute blast was had.
Glenn's death stare into the camera as he promotes Blackberry had me in tears!
Glad to see the gang back with the podcast!
I always go back to this episode. It's when Frank first peaks in depravity and I LOVE the character arch. So many quotable lines from this one. Definitely an old standby when I revisit Always Sunny.
At 3:59 Rob reverts back to not understanding what a podcast is for a second like the old days. Like when he was telling someone that he already knew the story they were telling 😂
Never will I forget Franks gurgling sound in this episode 😂

I love when Charlie opens the pod with some improv piano. I can't place it, but there's a nostalgia to it.
This is my favourite episode of the podcast. Loved the talk around what makes comedy works, good/bad 80s movies etc. Good work 👏
"I want to feel the effects of the alcohol. Otherwise I'll just drink water." That's my philosophy.
This has always been one of the, if not THE episode of Always Sunny that I show to a friend as their first introduction to the show. All time classic , so many quotes and references my friends and I use all the time.

Now block the wind while I roast this bone!"
So glad to have a new episode!! I’ve been missing them like crazy!! Welcome back guys.
The hat shit was gold. I loved the play with that. Y'all have built the foundation for my sense of humor and you keep building on it. Bravo.
In Season 2 "the gang exploits a miracle" When Dee is talking to Cricket on the steps in front of the church, the same extras in the background walk down the steps multiple times.
The hat sight gag was predictable and hilarious. Great delivery for a goofy bit to explain a simple concept. Bravo!
So glad you guys are back, hope you’re all doing well! For continuity errors, idk if anyone has brought up yet, but there was a scene from last season that had an error. When they’re in ireland and dennis tries smelling the bartenders hair and freaks out when theres no smell. The whole scene the bartender is filling a glass of beer and every shot with the glass in it, theres completely different levels of beer in the glass.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a show involve pints of beer and NOT have continuity issues lol. The head is generally the giveaway.
the continuity conversation is a top 5 podcast moment
Getting ready to listen to this podcast episode. The very first episode off of the sunny series that I purchased for myself was the game gives Frank an intervention. It is my all-time favorite episode. Each of the characters gets great lines, we get to meet Gail the snail, and the poor intervention counselor! Danny is just delightful as Frank off the rails. My favorite favorite sunny episode
I rewatched "Ruthless people" recently. THAT is a comedy from the 80s, with a clever plot, that stands up today, AND Danny Devito is great in it too.
It’s Always Sunny in Wrexham!! Congrats Rob, you went for gasps and got em!!
Completely agree with Charlie talking about putting a grain on. Season 15 looked way too clean
I JUST SCREAMED SO LOUD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA how happy I am that you guys are back. Seriously. I needed this today so bad. Also congrats Wrexham. I sobbed.
It’s good to see someone so happy for the gang’s return. Whatever you are going through I hope you conquer it and feel better and I wish you loads of sunshine and good days. Take care from 🇮🇪
I never noticed "mistakes" but I do love catching the actors break character and laughing and they keep the scene because its just too funny
I’m drinking canned wine right now. This episode was so ahead of it’s time. It keeps it cold (and prevents reds from staining your lips!😂)
I almost cried seeing the boys and Meg back this morning on my UA-cam notifications 😂 So glad to have the show back. Love how energetic everybody is, This was a fun podcast episodes
The podcast returns RIGHT AFTER Promotion! Congrats Rob!
Man, between Meg's hair (cute look btw!) The continuity jokes, and the grain, this is an episode that demands to be watched!
Everything's coming up SUNNY! Been a great year for you guys & I'm happy to see all your successes!!!
I’m so crossed when I heard you talk about Frank actually vomiting for that scene I cried laughing so hard and hurt myself.
Thanks for the amazing show in Dublin guys it was great to see you from the poor seats!
You know it’s going to be a good one When mr. day opens up with the piano👌
Welcome back Gang! Can't wait for the new season!! One of my favorite scenes is when you guys are done wrapping up the intervention and you don't need the professional any more, Charlie goes we said we'd pay you but we won't, how about a can of wine? lmfao
"Almost Heroes" is by far one of my favorite Chris Farley movies. It has a story (trying to beat Lewis and Clark to the west coast), it has Farley, and it's hilarious.
I love it when the episodes begins with Charlie playing a little piano! 😊
Frank belching all the beer out and down his stomach while walking down the street is one of the most gut busting moments for me that I've ever seen in television.
It was never a question in my mind that it was being regurgitated up in some way, I was surprised by Glenn not realizing that
It's always looked unrealistic to me. No one would gargle a shit ton of beer out of their mouth unless it was just for the camera.
@@BrainScramblies which to me since it is indeed fiction, makes it all the more funny. Kind of like when Bugs Bunny cut the floor out of Yosemite Sams hallway and he falls thru it into a river. Ya kinda just gotta suspend belief in certain situations. Lol. 😂😂
i literally say this exact same thing to friends and family all the time. that was one of the most brilliant moments in media of all time
I'd LOOOOOVE to see Meg in an actual episode. She should play Charlie's sister, whom he mentioned in the first season that was never brought up again. That'd be a great callback!!
I have been trying to figure out who they were talking about and this might be it!
Ye, I don't think she's an actress, she mentioned few times she's not fully comfortable with being on screen... but idk, I do hope they make a nice spin on Charlies sister... Maybe she is actually very successful person and emancipated form the family early in life, like straight after highschool or something and was too preoccupied with career... but now "has cancer" (mirroring charlie in first season, and his mother later)
I love how Charlie used to cut off the deeper discussions about the process, but now he’s sharing and nerding out with the rest of them ❤
43:31 They add a grain filter to the podcast when charlie mentions adding the grain lol
32:50 this moment of rob and glenn both looking over at meg has me in tears😂
Petition for Charlie to always do a musical opening
I feel like he should just be seated at a keyboard (so he doesn’t have his back to the gang like the piano) for the duration of every podcast so he can just diddy away
The continuity error they're gonna fix in season 16 is 100% Charlie's sister.
Me and my friends named one of our short lived bands as Nightcrawlers as a tribute to this episode. To me this is the #1 episode of the show.
Holy fuck, the realization that Danny swallows the beer and then vomitgargles it back up makes that scene a million times more disgusting and a million times more hilarious. Fuck man, what a legend.
that is not hard do for some people. Probably people who don't mind vomiting (like me)
For those wondering the Danny interview that embarrassed Rob is on UA-cam. It’s titled “Danny DeVito Bizarre Live TV Interview”
The best part of this episode was Mac talking to Donna at the start and finishing off with the little peek over the shoulder. Rob killed that part.
I had such a good time at the live podcast at the Albert Hall! Even though I was going by myself, it was so easy to talk to other like minded fans. Great to meet the gang even if it was brief and also Kevin Pollak too who I randomly recognised from Mrs Maisel!
I have seen every episode multiple times, and this one might be my all time favorite. Absolutely top 5 all time.
The continuity gag should be studied for generations
CONTINUITY ISSUE: The Gang Group Dates. Frank Charlie and Mac are discussing what they should and shouldn't talk about on the group dates, on the whiteboard behind frank the word "Aids" appears on the board in one shot, disappears in the next shot, and then reappears in the final shot 😂
The happiness I got from seeing this episode being posted is exactly what I needed today, thanks gang!
The wait was long and painful, but coming back on one of the best Sunny episodes ever made it worth it. WB!
"She actually cuts my hair." fucking killed me, Meg. So good.
Continuity error with the amount of beer in Dennis and Charlie's glasses while discussing the micro brew and the door marked pirate in the Korean pub
The continuity jokes felt like an episode of Sunny had me rolling. So hyped to see the gang return.
I don't how many years on this earth I got left, so I'm gonna get real with it.... Y'all just don't know how many times I watched the intervention episode. I laughed many times when I was going through depression and grief. When I was broke without internet all I had was dvds and my computer. This series and season 5 truly saved me from jumping in front of a train when I was deep in darkness. I'm so thankful for the dvd series.
Thank you for always putting a banner at the bottom of the screen so it's easier to fast forward through the ads 🙏
The *pop* addition of the film grain when Charlie says, "Film Grain" is perfect.

Great to see this podcast again !! Love you guys !
Danny is gang busters in this episode 😂😂 frank being like woahhh where did you come from. Also this is the introduction of Gail the snail, one of my personal favorite side characters. I love how in this episode the word of intervention is used so many times in the wrong context 😂
I remember when Mac and Dennis break up the water on Dennis’s shirt changes almost every time the camera is on him
talkin bout sunblock always reminds me of dee saying 'thing is i didn't make YOU one?'
