@@obl1xif_y981 his comment is bullshit is what i mean. First of all, most children at this age or younger have no other choice than follow the notations. So if he states the opposite it is simple and overstatement of the facts! secondly, if children playing in a level like this kid does in the video, with lots of training, full orchestra etc., does show difference and thoughts in his plays, it should often be lauded and praised. For children in this age category to show maturity, innovation and courage to challenge the notes is simply admirable. Now, if Albert Lin is trying to say that this kid simply is playing well without mistakes, then he is right, but doing it by trashing other kids is simply wrong! So my point in calling his comment bs is called for, i think.
This comment is misunderstood by many. At least I believe the point is that the young pianist does not resort to DISPLAYS OF his emotional reaction to the music. As Heinrich Fleischer told his students, "Remember: you are not the star: the music is the star". Audiences need similar advice: during the performance, focus on the music. If you are moved by it, thank the performer afterward.
He will become one of the few greats, his phrasing is excellent, you can hear every note separately, no messy runni9ng into each other. Lovely lyrical playing , I shall keep following you Ryan !
Ohmigod, such precision, such clarity, such comprehension of what he is playing. A true genius: not some little kid who "plays up a storm". This kid truly interprets the Beethoven and his technique is impeccable: totally at one with the piano - not a "Lang-Lang" basking in the glow of potential applause. Thank you, God!
Wow! All i can say is AMAZING! WHAT A PLEASURE TO WATCH RYAN AND THE ORCHESTRA. He plays the piano like a natural savage genius. And he is so young. How do you train kids to play a major musical instrument this way. Singapore has produced a wonderful pianist. I bet you bethoven bach and vivaldi are watching ryan from above.
Very impressive for 9 years old. He would now be 14, so I hope he has continued to improve and perfect his technique. There's a huge amount of competition to become a top classical concert pianist, but Ryan seems to have the talent to make it.
It's much more enjoyable to watch a child prodigy perform when they don't lean down and almost sniff the keys and then lean back trying to add dynamics by facial expressions.
His right hand is really good. It will be interesting to see how his hands develop when he grows older. The 11.07 right hand note and run down was sick. Didn't even sound like a kid playing. The fantasy impromptu sounds weird and too innocent, too instructional. Or maybe it is the recording. Dunno in there are too many things that i got smacked on the back of my head for doing in there.
No exaggerated facial and bodily movements, just exceptional music-making to the point that I experienced "aesthetic chills".
Has improved a lot. More disciplined now. This boy is just a genius
Even all these years (2024) later I still think this is the best soloist/orchestra match.
this is fantastic...really great to see a young pianist who doesn't resort to emoting and is so loyal to the music!
bs.

This beautiful, gifted child is a gift, and we should all celebrate the beauty of Humanity in the Genius of Beethoven.

Wow, such a beautiful gift to the future you are Ryan! You are giving so much hope . Thank you! !☺😊
Imagine when he will turn 20... incredible...
Singapore and his parents are an inspiration to the rest of the world for producing such
a talented child.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see this kid is a musical genius they're reading off sheets he's just playing brilliant.
Soloists generally play without sheet music.
that one tuba sitting alone, abandoned.... so sad... :(
There is a rat underneath it that was kept there until after the show.

A Chinese child prodigy can play as magnificently as a Russian too! Here the orchestra sounds clearer and more stereophonic.
Thank You!

its called discipline...
Jimmy ZHOU they meant the video.
He's not just sitting. He's performing for 45 minutes and that takes concentration.

Maybe that is why you are so critical and not playing with an orchestra at 9 yrs old! He isn’t even using music...
Jesus is coming soon, REPENT and accept him as the Lord and Savior before its too late❤
