I got an idea for soup for the "down time " activities , get a metal detector, like you can spend as little as an hour in a park or whatever and find some cool shit , it's a bit of exercise aswell , or you can spend a bit of time researching historical areas and then go check them out and find some really awesome shit , overall maybe like 2 hrs a week if youre just getting started and it gets you out and about for some movement and fresh air , just an idea though
Honestly? That history one sounds like a really good idea. I live in a historical kind of town, and grew up loving history classes and all that, maybe I should give it a try.

It's also very interesting to hear the comparisons you guys made on the production of metal 'screams' (e.g. Breathing on glass to fog it up) because it also applies to the loud, powerful 'operatic' sound that people associate a lot with classical singing. I find a lot of people think that it's pushed out forcefully and aggressively like the assumption for metal screams, but in general it's relatively effortless to create the sound.

Bro I'm a young English teacher (graduated class 2020 college) and like i totally remember there being plenty of teachers (some English teachers) who just refused to accept that kids had interests. Just, I want everyone to know the young teachers trying to enter the work force to understand kids, we want to allow our students to be themselves, to involve themselves in their education, because we remember easily how we were treated in high school. I did my absolute fucking best to treat my students like adults, I told them "I remember being in high school we were expected to act like adults but we were treated like kids. I'm happy to treat you all as young adults, however as a trade off you guys have to take some responsibility for your education." It was a give and take relationship and I let them decide what we read or what our schedule was going to be if I wasn't sure what we would do that week. I promise, there are teachers who WANT to erase that bullshit that the older teachers that have been tenured for 20 years and haven't looked at updated teaching practices since 1980, we are there. I unfortunately had to resign from my job because I wanted to allow students to act like kids, because they are kids, because I had a different structured classroom where kids felt comfortable expressing their opinions, they felt comfortable being themselves and unfortunately those older teachers/administrators do not like this idea. We have to push for the better things, especially if you hold a better position in your community in relation to schools. This turned a little preachy, sorry about that, I totally understand where the Goons are coming from, I just want it to be known the young teachers who feel the same do exist, it's just pushing our way into the workforce is incredibly difficult with push back from "veteran" teachers and older administrators.

My story time, I work in the pest control business and kill mice/rats all week. You get used to it. Some rodents chew body parts to get out of a glue board for fight/flight and adrenaline. They have one way door traps now so they can be relocated now a days that makes life easier

I use the subscription list as a place to go to where I know that there is content from creators I like, which to be seems like the intended purpose. I don't want notifications for every channel I like, if the sub box was the same as the notification button I wouldn't be subbed to a single channel.
