I have family buried at Sunset. Did this proposal include drawings of what this solar farm might look like hovering above the cemetery and will people still be allowed to visit the gravesites?
If the panels are elevated like at some supermarket parking lots, it may be a good thing. Shade for the visitors, less grass growth, money for maintainence. Just maybe more visible for community but small cost. Seems like a worthwhile positive idea for this perpetual problem.
If that is the true need then the descendants must be notified to move their loved ones to other cemeteries at the new operator's expense including moving headstones/memorial plaques or recreating those that are unable to be moved due to being frail. Any bodies not claimed by family should be moved also and the names and all known vital records (even if the state or county has to do vital research to learn these facts) recorded to the new cemetery. Just as if a big lake and dam were to be constructed or a highway. My opinion.

No matter who owns it, the government can TAKE it via EMINENT DOMAIN by simply filing in court and making a credible case that taking it is for the greater public good. Eminent domain cases are given #1 RUSH PRIORITY over all other court cases, and it's VERY EASY for the government to win. All they need is a GOOD REASON for doing it.
Not forgetting that a trust account still sits for this cemetery. Homelessness and lawless desecration of the cemetery still remains. Solar panels definitely not a problem solver but an additional layer on top of neglect and destruction of property. Try again. My opinion.

I don't think its a good idea put fence around it find some where else it's not good at a grave side and something will happen when u start something and its not going to work out u people that want to plan something u disturbing the peace leave the grave side alone something is going to happen to u when u start work on something that's been there for along time and u plan something now at a grave yard that not a good idea something really really going to happen to u and u going to wish u never touched the grave yard even tho u bless the the place its not going to work out bc its a grave yard.

It's against the law for them to make visiting gravesites impossible.
