Iv being going to the Barras since I was a kid im pushing 60 & still going there today . I was there last Saturday 2 April to get two vhs 📼 tape changed dvd 📀 Brilliant a tenner to change them i was quited 55 pounds 💷 that same day in Rutherglen shocking .

I loved the barras especially on a Sunday. The chap mentioned hot peas and vinegar. Pea bray we used to call it for some reason but we would walk down into the gallogate and get a steak pie supper from vald’oro and a big pickled onion. The chap was right about it being a theatre. In its hayday it was a brilliant place.
These memories of us all who loved the barrow’s market and some people used to feed their children and the family’s as well many a poor person survived due to the barraws back then!!! And all the crack was 90 as they say!! Good bless you all guys and girls in Scotland & in Scotland back then they had nothing at all but helped each other out with what little they had!! 🏴 Watching this really brings me back to my teens in my fifty’s now !!! !!! !! Always remember them people in Scotland))) ))) Doesn’t matter what part of Scotland it was very poor hard times for all the people especially the women who had a load of kids to bring up!!!!!! Good tuff people and god bless each and every one of you can still remember all the people who used the barrwas back then
Ma Granny got a crackin pair o leather slippers doon the Barras in the nighteen 70s - she still has one that she uses to leather the grandwains when their actin up a bit
