Anyone who has a cod in a tank at home will know how smart the fish are and how rapidly they learn.

This was told to the fisheries over 40 years ago ..... ans yes in the professional game I saw many bits of cray ground completely fished out. 1st by the introduction of color sounders ... the old paper sounders were only on when running gear ..... color ones were on from the time you started the engine to when it stopped. 2nd then add gps plotters to that and all the little bits of hard ground were marked and usually fished hard

Took people long enough to realise the damage the scope has done. 2 years ago when everyone was catching 10x as many fish as before scope they laughed when others said it will cause irreparable damage. After almost every dam has been flogged to nothing, and the numbers of fish being caught are plummeting at least some realise. Decades for copeton to be hammered, 3/4 to dust off the rest

Spot on observations, very much lines up with what i was seeing down home. Very few surface cod caught in Mul nowdays, still get some in the rivers as they don't get hit as hard with scope and surface.
Had to switch to silent landing soft plastics to stop spooking them.

Anglers who are doing the 1%ers are going to really stand out in the future once the scope bite fades.

Spot on mate, and we’ll said. Live tech, It ain’t going no where. people will like it people will hate it. I use it cod fishing and chasing yellas all the time. I’ll have 1 cast at a cod if I see it in at a distance, positioned well and not moving fast. If it doesn’t eat that first go at it then I keep moving on and let it be. Running multiple casts over fish and chasing them in circles isn’t doing any favours.

I find in my local river that gets hammered, that trolling works better than casting most days. I feel that the cod have learned what a lure splash is all about. Troll the same lure past them and they will still eat it.

    Good video & topic Jakko,
I rarely fish scope friendly water so it's been more of a hindrance than help to me, but a few things ring true. Like every location I fish being bombed by giant surface lures, the fish are so used to seeing them and so switched on.
For the last five years you couldn't catch a fish on spinnerbait but this season spinnerbaits and diving hard body's are getting the results around here, then there is value of meter plus fish.
Meter plus fish were so special and rare to catch, if one was caught it used to get reported in the news paper, but now it's a daily thing and getting a pretty boring.
As for the video's, headless fishermen (looking at the screen) or no boat footage at all because it's too dark, scoping has changed more than the fishes reaction and behaviour.
Don't get me wrong! I still enjoy catching them and are happy with any legal method I choose to use, I like watching UA-cam videos telling the full story too.... scoping tech video's are very interesting to me, but only from the guys who do it loud and proud :)

Great video jakko, my opinion is Im not a great fan of it to be honest. Fishing comps for years it has destroyed the atmosphere of family comps, and destroyed the chances of your average keen fisho that want to have a crack. Years of studying behaviours, contours, temps structures etc have been replaced with predominantly young cashed up blokes watching a screen and annoying the shit out of 1 fish.
I get what you saying that the bite will get harder in time. But its changed the comp scene forever and i think should be banned from competition. My opinion only of course. But i hear it regularly. Not being a sour puss. I have used it myself. Was fun for a day or 2. But i really questioned the true sport of it! Recently i watched 10 boats in 1 tiny bay right next to boat ramp on huge lake, all spent 2 days withing 50 mts of each other attacking the same few fish. (Yb). 1 bloke staring at screen telling other bloke what to do, the swapping roles so both caught fish. of course 3 of those 10 boats won the comp and didnt move more than 100m from the ramp. Skilled fishing or unfair advantage?

Lures will only get better and trick the cod into eating.
My theory is the transducer beams are only getting more high powered.
The cod will start to associate the transducer beam with being caught and will be gone before you can throw a cast .

It's been like that for years in fish getting used to certain lures 100% agree.
Think outside the box look at the old airplane lures then years and years later spinnerbaits came out.
I haven't yet got a live finder trying to save for one as it's a big cost and also trying to find more information on them.
    What unit are you using.
Great video always look forward to what you bring to us so we learn to make us better fisherman

    • @JakkoDavis
      @JakkoDavis  Рік тому

Yep 100% mate they learn over time, especially to certain lures and now that is been sped up at a rapid rate due to the live technology allowing us to put a lure on there nostril every cast, but prior to the technology advancements that would only happen every now and then by chance.
      Thanks mate 👍

Can of worms. This was always going to happen when blokes go seeking out the big fish the easy way. Blokes with this equipment target them, catch them and release them and get on social media seeking kudos. Someone's "fish of a lifetime" has been caught by someone who's taken shortcuts and the easy way out to catch it. That's MHO and before anyone says it - yes I can afford a Livescope or any other fishing gear I want.

    • @maccathirtythree

Garbage. I've seen blokes come in from 3-day sessions with SFA, then a kid angling from the bank and using cheese pulling a metrey. The live tech helps, but is no guarantee. It's called fishing
