i'm currently in the middle of working on my application and trying to convince my dad to let me apply ed and my god, i have been binge-watching your videos!! so helpful!! i hope i get accepted :)
Can you do a video about dorm life at Barnard? Like what was the community like with other students? Do people hang out on campus or do most people go into the city to do stuff?
Hi, I’m a christian and I want to apply to barnard. while I don’t identify as republican sometimes when people are against republicans they also have anti-religious sentiments, do you think that is present at Barnard?
Hi! I don’t think there are anti-religious sentiments at Barnard. There is definitely a general vibe (might not be the best word?) in favor of being a democrat and not a republican at Barnard, but I don’t think that translates towards any religious preference. So I would certainly not let that keep you from applying!
Hi! After watching your video (which is super helpful btw!!) your study abroad experience stuck out to me so I decided to ask about whether or not classes taken abroad would count towards a students GPA/credit during a virtual meeting with Barnard admissions! Admissions told me that courses abroad typically count. Did your study abroad classes not count because your program wasn't Barnard supported? I'm really interested in studying abroad, so thank you for speaking about it!! :)
I always felt very safe on campus. There are security guards at the entrances to Barnard and Columbia, and you have to flash your ID in the residence halls to get in. For freshman tips I would say don't walk in Riverside or Morningside Park at night, avoid secluded streets/areas at night, always have your phone on you (and charged so you can use it if need be) and let a friend know where you're going.
I'd recommend reading up on the tragic murder of Tessa Majors. They've increased security measures since then but I still think it's important to know about what happened.
Anna I definitely agree!! Barnard and Columbia is in a gentrified neighborhood meaning there is still “ghetto” neighborhood outside of it... so there are unsafe spots. Just gotta keep an eye out
what kinds of things about sororities would you wanna know? Just so Diana knows what to make the video about :) and I did not interview with Barnard, but if Diana did, I can ask her to make that video too! -Margaret
@@prabhpreetgill9882 Diana and I both did not interview at Barnard but Diana interviewed with another school so she can do a vid on college interviews in general!
Ok so about sororities! I was wondering if they’re diverse (sexuality, race, religion, socioeconomic status, etc)? what are the benefits to joining them? How many Barnard students are in Greek life? Anything really is helpful! Again thanks so much for these videos they’re so helpful! I think I’m going to apply Ed now!! :)
Hi! I will be attending Barnard this fall and I am really interested in studying abroad at Oxford. I was wondering if you can make a vide on your studying abroad experiences and the application process : )

My program was supported! The Oxford program is directly connected to Barnard. All of my classes transferred over and counted :)
@@mjdandnyc3193 That's great news!!! Has your opinion about the study abroad program changed?
Nope! Was tbh probs my most fun year in college 👀
Is it safe there on and around campus? What safety suggestions do you have for freshmen?

Yes! There’s a Barnard gym and a Columbia gym we got to use as barnard students
Great video! I am planning on transferring there after my first year. May I ask you some questions about Barnard via email?
