There is a serene, dreamy quality in this album that is very special. It's hard to define or put into words, but this album accomplishes what so many set out to do and fall short: It reaches out and almost literally transports you to a dreamy world of holiday bliss. No modern Christmas music that I have heard captures the feeling and mood of Christmas like this album. I have purchased several copies of it because when i find out someone hasn't heard it I feel duty bound to let them have one. Spector, Buble, Motown, Mariah? They have nothing on Mantovani.
I love this music so very much!! I have this cd and play it religiously when we sit down to eat Christmas dinner, but I'am playing it right now from you tube as my dear husband found it while having a search for more Christmas music, it is Christmas Eve 2022 and we live in Melbourne Australia and I thank you very much for sharing this beautiful timeless Christmas music! Mantovani was one of my best orchestra director when I was 15th and he is always one of my best, and I am 85 years old. Christmas music has something magical during all life. 1953年のモノラル録音をステレオ録音で再録音した1958年のアルバムこそ、マントヴァーニの真髄が聞ける歴史的名盤です。
