when I was a kid my favorite hero before is Gregorio Del Pilar. All the textbooks before stating there sacrifices so they will become a hero. I was so impress he is the youngest general. And also I watch the Historical series "Bayani" in ABS CBN before. Now, I watched this movie I am enlighten that there a lot of treachery before. I think that all textbooks manipulating this generation. There are some hero that are not true on this country and it was all manipulated by text books and media.

Filipinos are born tough and resilient. Filipino soldiers have the capabilities to win every battle back then but the main problem was the lack of unity among the leaders and of course the betrayals.
I think it often comes down to determination and will to fight. As an American who shares a little bit of knowledge over everything. I'm not sure how much fighting a civil war would offer in regards to experience, since we are talking two different means of warfare. The Civil War had battles fought more upfront where two large contingents would engage, whilst the Filipino-American war favored smaller engagements in a series of skirmishes over rugged terrain, often forming strong defensive lines and letting our troops come to them to take their positions. Besides, the way warfare was fought between 1864 and 1899 changed as new weapons were developed with the addition of new doctrines (That being where soldiers no longer favored fighting in regimental line formations... smaller squads were becoming more of an ideal unit organized by companies). If anything, I think the US learned more from the Indian Wars rather than the American Civil war since there are some tangents between the ways of fighting overlapped. Even in more overlap to where the US had also gained experience and weather hardiness prior to the conflict, the USMC saw deployment oversees gaining some valuable conditioning in Cuba, Nicaragua, Columbia, China, and various Latin American countries... As for the Filipino cause to which I agree with your statement, I doubt they could've won on short notice considering the American might of US influence and the fiery desire for new economic markets; however, if they had held out long enough, the US may lose interest (which was unlikely). We are considering the war of the wills, US interests of the Gilded Age vs Filipino Independence... but now that the war had been concluded, it was clear that US interests was stronger, since nothing would stop until US interests had been satisfied to secure the pockets of the politicians/businessmen of the Gilded Age. So (if history had taught us anything), once a politician of the Gilded Age sets their gaze on a desire, it's bad news because they will not let anything get in their way to stop them. Eventually, progressive reforms, isolationism, and Americanism, would change the US mindset over global policy which would limit big business in politics and finally address on issues on the home front rather than events globally.
As seen in the General luna movie and the 1st part of this movie, Filipinos are ill prepared have little to no training and discipline. They had enough time to prepare for the next american wave of offensives but what did they do they go to fiestas instead of training and building defensive lines
General Goyo was a brilliant tactician, and indeed a hero. Ang nakakalungkot lang, nung tumaas ang rank nya, naging "pawn" sya ni Aguinaldo (isang patunay na tao lang din ang mga bayani natin at nagkakamali sila). Ang maganda lang, in the end, he redeemed his honor, di tulad ni Aguinaldo na mas pinili ang sarili. Kapal pa ng mukha na tumakbo ulit ng pagka presidente nung 1935 AHAHAHAHA.

If anything, I think the US learned more from the Indian Wars rather than the American Civil war since there are some tangents between the ways of fighting overlapped. Even in more overlap to where the US had also gained experience and weather hardiness prior to the conflict, the USMC saw deployment oversees gaining some valuable conditioning in Cuba, Nicaragua, Columbia, China, and various Latin American countries...
As for the Filipino cause to which I agree with your statement, I doubt they could've won on short notice considering the American might of US influence and the fiery desire for new economic markets; however, if they had held out long enough, the US may lose interest (which was unlikely). We are considering the war of the wills, US interests of the Gilded Age vs Filipino Independence... but now that the war had been concluded, it was clear that US interests was stronger, since nothing would stop until US interests had been satisfied to secure the pockets of the politicians/businessmen of the Gilded Age. So (if history had taught us anything), once a politician of the Gilded Age sets their gaze on a desire, it's bad news because they will not let anything get in their way to stop them. Eventually, progressive reforms, isolationism, and Americanism, would change the US mindset over global policy which would limit big business in politics and finally address on issues on the home front rather than events globally.
As seen in the General luna movie and the 1st part of this movie, Filipinos are ill prepared have little to no training and discipline. They had enough time to prepare for the next american wave of offensives but what did they do they go to fiestas instead of training and building defensive lines
