▶Craftsman Profile
Kyo Zogan Ono / Shinji Ono
Ono inlays and produces accessories and tea ceremony utensils such as iron kettles.
Ono's unique technique, "Nashiji-style pattern," which expresses the texture of unevenness on the inlaid base material, is a distinctive feature of his work.
Please take a look at the accessories and feel the charm of Zogan close at hand.
▶Craftsman Passion
"We want to give back to society by preserving as much goodness as possible for future generations."
Our affluent society is the result of the efforts of our predecessors. It will not be a smooth road to realize our ideals, but we are committed to be such a workshop every day.
Please enjoy watching the Japanese craftsmanship!!!!

What patience and calmness you have to produce beautiful crafts
On feels that only inJapan that such craftsmanship is appreciated, in the west buy cheap and throw away is the norm. Buying future antiques doesnt seem to figure any longer, which is a shame.
You are looking at the wrong things. There are plenty of western made articles that are hand made, artistic, of the highest quality and made to last. Thing is, we can’t afford it.
@@DogBrotherhood sure there are artisan made items in the west but they are not generally valued enough for average Joe's to save for. Not when you have the likes of IKEA or Primark.
I'm always astounded by the Japanese persistence and skill in details
It's detailed and patient work.
Japanese craftsmen are good at this kind of work.
Stunning!!
Thank you!
What a masterpiece
Incredible piece.
I feel like I've missed one step before the brushing with Urushi: how is the sea-foam-like texture on the side of the piece obtained? Is it the hammering/flattening step right before? Thanks!
It's either from the resin bubbling as it was cooked on or he dimpled the metal with a tiny punch
That tiny little hammer...
Дядь, ты молодец👍
Лютый дед)))
The metal was heated and pressed into a wax like base. What is the substance?
rosin
