It is understable. When one is receiving a series of unique knowledge from a unique teacher, the desire would be to note them down. And since the teaching of the Quran & Sunnah were very unique to the Arabs , it would have been every Sahabahs' desire. I heard from many other Islamic scholars , that the Prophet had forbid Sahabahs from writing about his doings & saying for the reason being so that the Hadiths do not get mixed with writings of the Quran Verses . To me that made sense. That's why we found many of Quran parchments written by first Generation Muslims. Some Muslim Scholars say that a few Verses in Quran may also have made the Prophet forbid the Sahabahs from writing Hadiths in his time was due to the verses revealed to him. "And We brought down to you (O Muhammad) the Book with truth, confirming what came before it of the Scripture and superseding it. So rule among them in accordance with what God has brought down.“ 5:48 " Follow what has been brought down to you from your Lord and do not follow any allies besides Him. Rarely do you remember!" 7:3 "So in which hadith after it (Quran) do they believe?" 77:50" "Or do you have some book in which you are studying?" 68:37 And there are many other Verses in Quran by which it becomes understable why the Prophet instructed his people to write nothing from him except the Quran, and for those who wrote any of his hadith, to be deleted. For myself, to be on the safe side, I have choosen the middle way. If any of the Hadiths contradict the Verses of Quran in its entirety , against the entire nature of Quran, then I Ieave in believing it. Shookar-Alhamdoliliah . God has preserved Quran for us so that we can revisit multiple times to check. We Muslims have Quran as our standard, the Criterion by which to find out the truth from the false. " It was the month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was [first] bestowed from on high as a guidance unto man and a self-evident proof of that guidance, and as the standard by which to discern the true from the false.........." 2 : 185 "Hallowed is He who from on high , step by step , has bestowed upon His servant the Criterion by which to discern the true from the false, so that to all the world it might be a warning": 25 : 1 "And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example" . ....... 30: 58
You are right... and Those who say that we don't have collections of Hadiths that go back to the the time of Prophet (pbuh) doesn't agree upon Abu Huraira as a companion also .. how deviated are they .. may Allah guide them....
Wow Brilliant!! Sir, really liked the way you say @12:28 “now been REDISCOVERED”. But the sect Scholar you consulted half an hour before this video said “transmitted ORALLY”. @9:45 Very interesting to know what You said: “DISCOVERED AGAIN in Middle East, America, Germany” @12:30 and “DISCOVERED IN THE 20th CENTURY” @9:38 - quite an advanced Discovery we all must acknowledge. Good to know Muwatta is mid 2nd Century H and thanks for pointing out it’s VERY VERY EARLY … @11:20 …can’t miss that premise of your argument and then saying 2 centuries yourself. I can see the authenticity in your eyes, that’s very nice, yes really. Very rare to have such SMART people like you doing so much work, there are more followers that you will have soon, plenty indeed if that’s the purpose. Thanks for showing us the CONFIRMATION BIAS. I’m sure you are a well read person and can Read Between The Lines. 😊 Genuinely Amazing, thanks to your efforts, really really good.
Thank you Paul, this is particularly significant to me. I have been reading Quran translations of some Quranists and Quranites lately, one of which is given freely online by Sam Gerrans. The translation per se is very detailed, and I appreciate his generosity in making it free. It was just the argument against Hadith they make - that Bukhari, Muslim etc are Persians who had a real politik agenda against Arabs, and they fabricated the Hadith, with seemingly cogent evidence - that one alarmed me a bit. Thank you again and bless you
@@mikhan5191 I won't go there, Mi Khan. Sam believes in Allah, the oneness of Allah Taala and he believes in Rasulullah, and has dedicated his life to translating the Quran. On the issue of hadis that I asked, it was something that baffled me but it does not negate my appreciation for his work. Peace, bro
I studied Hadith in Madinah and everything you said is good in the video. Isnad “chain of narration” is not exclusively sahifah. Rather, it is a chain of verbal transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. This is why we have different degrees of hadiths “authentic, good, weak, etc” based on the type of narration “Isnad” the Hadith has. This is why we have some golden chains of narration, e.g, Malik - Nafea - Ibn Omar - Prophet. In this chain, Ibn Omar is a companion who was attentively accompanying the Prophet and learned a lot from him, one of Ibn Omar’s students is Nafea, and Nafea was a teacher of Malik. Imam Malik is the first to write for the public as directed by the Khalif “Abu Jafar Almansur” the first leader of the Abbasid country. He said to Imam Malik “right a simplified “muwatta” book for the public so that they can understand their religion. So, Imam Malik wrote his book “Al Mueatta” meaning “The Simplified”. Those students who want to become teachers used to accompany their teachers for many years and attend their daily “durus” or lessons up to 20 years where they memorize every single piece of knowledge this teacher has, once they get Ijaza “permission” from the teacher, they become “alum” or alumnus, or scholar. Hope this adds to the interesting thing you said in the video.
Great Video Brother , i think the biggest problem is people don't get the oral transmitted of Quran and hadith they don't understand how is it more stronger way of preserving the words more even than the written form you can change texts you can lose a text , but you can't change people memories or lose a full generation who memorize Quran and Hadith because they used to the bible studies they think Islamic knowledge are like that a lost and found . Islamic knowledge was never lost to be found , and it's not like he said she said , we know every one in every chain of narration , if just one is not known we don't accept the Hadith we still memorize Quran and Hadith , people think Muslims only memorize Quran , we memorize Hadith also , i want any one to listen to a scholar of hadith they will not only give the hadith , they will give you the chain of narrations and many of the students of hadith they memorize Bukhari and Muslim full books with the narrations , and some parts of other books of hadith not just that they also memorize weak hadith with the chain to tell you it's weak and where exactly is the weakness in the chain , to me that is a miracle
Brother oral tradition is one of the weakest ways of Preservation because human memory is fallible n it only takes one famous teacher To mess up some verses Then everyone they taught learned the messed up verses N then the most famous scholar that appears from Those Students will teach those errors n since he’s human it’s likely he also will have verses himself he will memorize wrong n so in and so forth Sahih bhukari 7191 shows Quran was about to be lost Cuz it was only memorized When it was made into books Ppl wrote down what they memorized n they memorized things wrong literally every single Muslim did And no one memorized Full Quran
I am glad you delved into this topic because I wrote to you before regarding it 😃 "الصحيفة الصادقة" Al-Sahifah al-Sadiqah or The Truthful Script was written by Abd Allah ibn Amr ibn al-As The Paper of Jaber ibn Abdullah Al Ansary The 1st Narrator. There are even documents that the prophet stamped such as a Constitution of Medina etc... The fellowship of the prophet wrote EVERYTHING (Hadith along with Tafsir often beside a Quranic verse)... This drove the prophet to ADMONISH them "for such a thing caused the previous nations to be led astray." *We have seen many examples nowadays for how mere "comments" are considered words of God... ONLY when they separated the two it was again allowed by the prophet!!!! This was to set a difference between the Quran (Phonetically revealed as is) & prophetic tradition(revelation expressed from the prophet own words & actions) Later on the prophet even allowed to documenting the saying of the Israelite !!!
the Prophet didnt allow some companions to write stuff so they can rely on their memory and improve it but he allowed others to write stuff down so they can remember.

" Follow what has been brought down to you from your Lord and do not follow any allies besides Him. Rarely do you remember!" 7:3
"So in which hadith after it (Quran) do they believe?" 77:50"
"Or do you have some book in which you are studying?" 68:37
And there are many other Verses in Quran by which it becomes understable why the Prophet instructed his people to write nothing from him except the Quran, and for those who wrote any of his hadith, to be deleted.
" It was the month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was [first] bestowed from on high as a guidance unto man and a self-evident proof of that guidance, and as the standard by which to discern the true from the false.........."
2 : 185
"Hallowed is He who from on high , step by step , has bestowed upon His servant the Criterion by which to discern the true from the false, so that to all the world it might be a warning":
25 : 1
"And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example" . .......
30: 58
You are right... and Those who say that we don't have collections of Hadiths that go back to the the time of Prophet (pbuh) doesn't agree upon Abu Huraira as a companion also .. how deviated are they .. may Allah guide them....
Wow Brilliant!! Sir,
really liked the way you say @12:28
“now been REDISCOVERED”.
But the sect Scholar you consulted half an hour before this video said “transmitted ORALLY”. @9:45
Very interesting to know what You said:
“DISCOVERED AGAIN in Middle East, America, Germany” @12:30
and “DISCOVERED IN THE 20th CENTURY” @9:38 - quite an advanced Discovery we all must acknowledge.
Good to know Muwatta is mid 2nd Century H and thanks for pointing out it’s VERY VERY EARLY … @11:20
…can’t miss that premise of your argument and then saying 2 centuries yourself.
Genuinely Amazing, thanks to your efforts, really really good.
Excilent research.
Thanks!
Many thanks Riaz!
What a coincidence! @0:36
Good you mentioned the words “what the Scholars say”
Excellent review! Thanks. I am so glad I subscribed. I am familiar with some of Prof. Jonathan AC B. Works
Awesome, thank you!
Great information.. ✍️
Outstanding video, very informative
Thank you Paul, this is particularly significant to me. I have been reading Quran translations of some Quranists and Quranites lately, one of which is given freely online by Sam Gerrans. The translation per se is very detailed, and I appreciate his generosity in making it free. It was just the argument against Hadith they make - that Bukhari, Muslim etc are Persians who had a real politik agenda against Arabs, and they fabricated the Hadith, with seemingly cogent evidence - that one alarmed me a bit. Thank you again and bless you
Sam Gerrans is okay but his knowledge of chain of hadiths is really vague and oversimplified
@@TeymurKhan571 What does "chain of hadiths" mean?
@@TeymurKhan571 - sam Gerrans is NOT a Muslim. He just pretends to be one.
@@TeymurKhan571 I see. Thank you, J2
Peace, bro
This man is a extraordinary
I was born muslim and practicing entire my life and didn’t hear this
To my shame above 30 years
I studied Hadith in Madinah and everything you said is good in the video.
Great Video Brother , i think the biggest problem is people don't get the oral transmitted of Quran and hadith
they don't understand how is it more stronger way of preserving the words more even than the written form
you can change texts you can lose a text , but you can't change people memories or lose a full generation who memorize Quran and Hadith
because they used to the bible studies they think Islamic knowledge are like that a lost and found .
Islamic knowledge was never lost to be found , and it's not like he said she said , we know every one in every chain of narration , if just one is not known we don't accept the Hadith
we still memorize Quran and Hadith , people think Muslims only memorize Quran , we memorize Hadith also , i want any one to listen to a scholar of hadith
they will not only give the hadith , they will give you the chain of narrations
and many of the students of hadith they memorize Bukhari and Muslim full books
with the narrations , and some parts of other books of hadith
not just that they also memorize weak hadith with the chain to tell you it's weak and where exactly is the weakness in the chain , to me that is a miracle
Brother oral tradition is one of the weakest ways of
Preservation because human memory is fallible n it only takes one famous teacher
To mess up some verses
Then everyone they taught learned the messed up verses
N then the most famous scholar that appears from
Those
Students will teach those errors n since he’s human it’s likely he also will have verses himself he will memorize wrong n so in and so forth
Sahih bhukari 7191 shows Quran was about to be lost
Cuz it was only memorized
When it was made into books
Ppl wrote down what they memorized n they memorized things wrong literally every single Muslim did
And no one memorized
Full Quran
Mashallah Keep Up the Nice work....
Your next Target should be Learning more Arbic....
I am glad you delved into this topic because I wrote to you before regarding it 😃
"الصحيفة الصادقة" Al-Sahifah al-Sadiqah or The Truthful Script was written by Abd Allah ibn Amr ibn al-As
The Paper of Jaber ibn Abdullah Al Ansary The 1st Narrator.
There are even documents that the prophet stamped such as a Constitution of Medina etc...
The fellowship of the prophet wrote EVERYTHING (Hadith along with Tafsir often beside a Quranic verse)... This drove the prophet to ADMONISH them "for such a thing caused the previous nations to be led astray."
*We have seen many examples nowadays for how mere "comments" are considered words of God...
ONLY when they separated the two it was again allowed by the prophet!!!!
This was to set a difference between the Quran (Phonetically revealed as is) & prophetic tradition(revelation expressed from the prophet own words & actions)
Later on the prophet even allowed to documenting the saying of the Israelite !!!
the Prophet didnt allow some companions to write stuff so they can rely on their memory and improve it but he allowed others to write stuff down so they can remember.
