    Loved it, man. Finished it about a month ago. Fantastic book. The intro was incredible. It resonated with me and hooked me immediately. He describes small town ethos perfectly. Wonderful, rich characters. I absolutely agree with you.

    Finished Ohio last night and I really enjoyed it. Some of the words he used were a bit flowery for my liking, and part of the ending with Tina and Todd was a bit far fetched, but aside from that this book was an absolute powerhouse. I haven’t read a book in years, yet I breezed through these 500 pages and finished the last 90 last night. This book is going to get me back into reading.

    Finished it two days ago and it was amazing. Credit booktuber Just Juan reader for recommending it.
    I also put it down for a few days too, didn’t want it to end.

      Books like this one, IT, and THE GOLDFINCH are rare indeed

    Since you mentioned John Irving, I DNF'd The World According to Garp, even though I loved the movie. Just too many long summaries of different events.

    I just myself a copy on hardcover. Can't wait to dig into it, since I read the synopsis it instantly grabbed my attention and your review made me want to read it more.
    I love books where the story is a series of vignettes.

    You’re right, Ohio is as good as The Goldfinch. I’d maybe rate TG slightly above Ohio but both are great

    Never heard of this book before. Definitely gonna check it out (good time for an epic novel). Have you read 2666? Sounds a little similar and that is also divided into five novella length sections.

    Been looking into reading more contemporary style books, I dunno if that's the right way to describe them but "ohio" looks like that to me. Would you say it's contemporary?.. I recently started "Virgil wander" by "Leif enger" and it's really good. I recommend it to you pal.

    • @EdwardLorn
      @EdwardLorn  4 роки тому

      Contemporary only means that it happens in the present day so yeah I guess it is contemporary.
