"Shonen should write more downtime" That aligns with what I have been thinking a lot lately: Instead of writing character backstories, how about write them to be likable, so people will organically get upset when they died?
it sucks that we need 150 episodes of something like hxh to get that to happen. I dont see it happening in the modern era lowk but I really hope im wrong

Garnt does this thing where he’ll say “in my opinion” and then state a fact and he’ll say “objectively” and then state an opinion. It is completely wacky and backwards.
Garnt's "Your Name" story reminds me of how I got to watch "Summer Wars" at a convention venue for the first time. Loads of people in the cinema and I actually didn't know much about the movie. Rent-a-Girlfriend is one of greatest phycological torture manga of our time, I truly think the author wants to see how far they can push the fanbase... Saying that I read every new chapter to have a look if Chizuru will allow Kazuya make the beast with two backs with her.
Considering the author’s currently running incest harem, I think the guy is just incapable of writing anything that isn’t insufferable and is accidentally creating a new form of torture. He’s also perfected in creating the most punch able MCs of all time. Resisting the urge to punch the manga every time the MCs make a stupid face should become a part of a monk’s training to reach enlightenment.
17:24 I 100% agree. There's this one scene in Chainsaw Man of Aki waking up and making himself a cup of coffee. In a world full of devils, this was such a relaxing to watch. Basically a calm before the storm. Also, people seem to dislike the festival arc in my hero academia but I think it was just as amazing as the other seasons. The whole point was to make Eri Smile because of the traumatic life she endured by Overhaul. All Might is loved because he makes people smile when they're in endanger so this is fitting for the themes of the show.
Manga reader will call a moment in the manga that is a bit more down to earth and quieter filler, even tho it shows you a lot of new things of the character. It happens so often.
I have two hot takes for anime rn: 1. The best media MHA has ever put out is MHA: Illegals, until that point the author didn't understood what makes a good hero, then with Illegals he could experiment with more mature ground-to-earth MC, a simpler history and powers but using it in more creative ways, the ending but must importantly the lenght is perfect. You care about this MC and you look him thrive and fail multiple times, becoming a Spiderman/ Avengers type of situation. Spiderman more interesting beacause the stakes are not that high and he can growth better. 2. Everyone can enjoy romance anime, but instead of trying to become more cartoonish or human like relationship there must be organic. The best romance anime in my opinion are all about chemistry, a soyjack MC or a superchad donothingwrong type of MC as well can't be a romance MC. They must be feel alive, and you as a person dont think 24/7 about sex or even love. They trying to become better together is what makes a good couple, that the shit I want to see. B**bs and ahh are everywhere but if there are attached to truly good character is doesn't matter to me they are bait. But you need chemistry. See 86, even if the world is interesting, the main couple is what sells is for me. Isekai troupe could be as excuse, I just want to see that connection.
EXACTLY, Re-watching Naruto would be a breeze compared to One Piece. Not only because of the filler is contained within episodes in Naruto but because One Piece would slow the pace of the canon episodes down to a crawl in certain arcs.
@@Jorem_K My advice if you wanna continue, just skip dressrosa and wano cause two of them are too dragging. I like whole cake island more than those two combine.
My hot take is, If you want to enjoy anime, don't listen to people, enjoy what you enjoy, because once your mind gets deluded by a community and such, you would not enjoy what could be enjoyable to you.
one of my major pet peeves is people calling everything a plot hole. you didn’t understand the plot? plot hole. character acted irrationally like an actual human being? plot hole
Same goes with plot-armor "This character won a fight because of the plot" no shit, the power system clearly shows why he won this fight but because you didn't like it, it's just "bad plot armor" because you didn't understand the power system of the show.
"Highschool of the Dead deserves a second season." Unfortunately Gigg missed my take but its true. HOTD is actually good. Madhouse Animation most notable project, the LEGEND Maon Kurasaki debut album, and is the stand-alone KING of fan service memes.
Highschool of the dead is a very nice anime, I remember when it was airing but the sad thing is the creator of the series passed away a long time ago because of a health complication but the art style is still going strong in the series "Triage X" cuz the creator of triage x is the same guy that helped out with the art work of highschool of the dead.
@@SilkSonic-c9zI think the manga is still ongoing so that is a good thing to me but the author was diagnosed with eosinophilic disorder unfortunately a long time ago, hope she haves a come back because her Manga is a good read.
The shonen downtime thing, in film language, is sometimes called a "pillow shot". But because of One Piece, my friends and I call them Boat Episodes, cus it's the episodes where the crew hardly leave the boat - and they're great.
Bro One Piece episodes where they were just chillin were great. Bits of Luffy 'fixing' the Merry or Brook trying to figure out what he needs to do on the ship were nice
I feel like this would be such a good way to contextualize the recap episodes they’ve been doing recently. Idk how they do it currently because I skip them, but I’d be down to watch like Robin telling the crew her backstory, because that’s something we’ve learned she’s done recently, and see their reactions to it. Same with like recounting stuff about the revolutionary army to the rest of the crew, talking about other pirate crews as if they came up in the news, etc.
@ yeah perfectly said or imagine the straw hats just talking about techniques they have just learned and I’ve always wanted to know what the straw hats opinion on what the one piece is.
Chibi Vegeta is pretty funny in Daima- last ep he beat up some punks in a cyberpunk nightclub, not your typical DBZ battle arena lol. BTW will we ever get a US release/stream of Dr. Slump/Arale-Chan?
I started watching School Days while unaware of it's infamous ending, and I stopped watching 2 or 3 episodes in because I thought it was boring. And this was during my "ravenously devour every anime you find" period.
food wars is actually good. the concept and story is good. maybe not execution towards the end, but it would still excel without fan service. i’m here for the plot.
Totally agree with the mid anime take. People have different preferences, and I might think a 9/10 is kind of boring but a 6/10 is right up my alley so I'd rather watch that. I don't really care if somethings trash if it's entertaining and makes me hype 🤷♂️🤣
I don't even know anime MAL score when I watching it. I add anime to my watchlist in like two weeks before new season starts, then watch them when they are finished airing about three months later, then go to MAL to give my number. And most of the times I'm surprised how low scored some of the anime I love with all my heart and soul. In summer 2024 season I enjoyed four different shows to the maximum amount - "Dungeon People", "A Nobody's Way Up to an Exploration Hero", "A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring" and "I Parry Everything" are all in my personal opinion deserve a 10 (and I'm usually don't give out a 10 score left right and center, I'm usually grant 10 to just one anime per season, sometimes not even one. The last time I gave many anime 10 was winter 2023 and there were three, not four. So summer 2024 is my favorite anime season right now). But on MAL they have 7.10, 5.82, 6.67 and 6.92 scores. If I was a kind of person who chooses anime based on MAL score of 8 and higher, I would not have watched those four masterpieces and it would be really sad :-(
@@Kostyurik I agree, I definitely don't try and take too much stock into the score before I read/watch it if I enjoy the synopsis. Especially when it comes to BL/Romance, which is what I read/watch more than anything else it's highly subjective, so I think scores matter a bit less than stories with intricate plot lines lol
@swimmingbird1 totally respect the show, and I've seen it in its entirety, but it just wasn't my thing at all. If I were to watch a SciFi Mecha it'd definitely be Eureka7 or Gurren Laggan, which are objectively worse shows, but just more my type of show I'd enjoy lol
I feel the same. For example, 86 and Beastars are among my top 10 and I was surprised by all the negativity I heard about them. But I still love them both.
This is what the anime community was all about back 2007-2014 then authentic group of fan groups being Loyal to their favorites ❤😮💨im glad this person brought that topic back🥹 16:10
What are your favorite without mentioning the popular anime? Taste says you have personality is the testing question. Mentioning the popular ones basically says about you that you have no personality and yes death note is one of the popular one people like to mention…
14:13 exactly remember watching ir for the first time and in the middle just realising what had just happened in the middle of the movie. The ending with the Radwimps music playing then brought it back. Still haven't watched any animated movie that made me feel that way.
Here's a take. Because of the way Twitter is now, where all the blue checkmarks (grifters or otherwise) are pushed to the top of the reply chain regardless of anything, the list of replies was culled before Garnt ever got back to it, which hurts the potential of the entire premise. Fortunately, Garnt is enough of an entertainer to make up for most of it. (As an aside, I also responded to Garnt's post, with something along the lines of "Adaptations don't have to follow their source material down to the last letter; that's the whole reason they're called 'adaptations' in the first place.")
"If you combine the downtime and character writing of MHA with the fight choreography and pure hype of JJK and demon slayer you would have the greatest fkin modern anime ever made" So Hunter x Hunter?
missed the your name in cinemas in 2017, watched it 7 times before it finally re-screened this summer, watched it in the cinema, and it HITS SO MUCH HARDER THAN THE PC SCREEN. I love it and imma watch it all over again
17:07 I completely agree with your statement, Gigguk. I find many animes like that more appealing to me and my personality. Not everyone is the same. Darling in The Franxx, Domestic Girlfriend, etc, they all resonate with me very well. Are they perfect? No. Does that mean I don't enjoy them? Absolutely not.
23:54 it's same for Demon Slayer too. When someone takes a premise soo good, writes a great beginning and then falls down in storytelling long-term, it becomes a problem. And when it falls down soo badly than even an average audience can find a better way to progress the story than how it actually progresses, you get a huge bunch of disappointed audience. And a show that gives hopes and disappoints gets way more hate than a show that never gave enough hope.
Utawarerumono is the most underrated anime based on game to be made Story is complex and has many twists, characters are well written, fleshed out and entertaining, openings are 9-10/10, music is great, and story as a whole (all 3 seasons) is good from start till end
@uryjamesponce915 the new ones "Mask of truth and mask of deception" are a continuation of the first one but with completely new cast, but later they link to characters and themes of the first one, I will not say more, enjoy
I know the editor is trying to make zooms in and out cuts to make the video more alive, but you are cutting the chat out and personally i would rather see the chat. Chat is part of the content. This is my hot take XD
"Rent a Girlfriend has a fucking fantastic cast because I think they do such an amazing job in making you hate every single character" Wiser words haven't been spoken before.
he is kind of right thou. RAG and Mushoku Tensei mc are both bad people that is a fact. And people hate RAG because it didnt do the redemption part that MT is known for. if RAG mc did get better as a person would it be better than MT? no. would it be more watchable and appreciative? yes
In regards to the Ludwig Naruto comment, I feel this is something that a lot of people including Garnt might forget/take for granted. This anime came out during an era where the Manga was still being written with a couple of dozens of episodes of buffer between em. I think a lot of modern Anime fans take for granted that a lot of shows start with a country mile of headway from the source material or are just new anime material where the animation and pacing can be worked better with. Props to the animators who worked on the early 2000's Naruto where this shit came out WEEKLY WITHOUT A STOP for over a Decade. Give the Naruto anime all the shit you want Ludwig, Id LOVE to see a beloved anime property now a days deal with the same bullshit, Naruto, Bleach and One Piece animators had to deal with back in the day. Thank GOD that the industry is switching to seasonal releases with their modern manga shows. I will always give the Big 3 Anime adaptations leeway cause the circumstances under which they came out should be crimes agaisnt the Geneva Convention and the fact we STILL got insanely memorable episodes is WILD to me. Props again to the animators man.
I'm sorry but anybody saying something above a 5 is mid needs to go back to math class :| None of you know wtf mid is...I MIGHT give you 6 but you need to have a REALLY good argument because 5 is the middle of 1-10. If you wanna try saying 7 is bad you need to learn how a scale works.
My hottest take is that Eren (AOT) is not as great of a character as people make him out to be. He commited war crimes to basically save his friends, but he didn't achieve that. In fact, he consistently put them in more danger because he believed that he held the answer to everything, when ultimately just didn't.
Hot take - I just generally hate studios when the first season is 24. Episodes and the next season is ten, maybe twelve Like ik you have it in you do better
I watch anime when I'm getting ready for bed, so I love mid anime, which is the perfect balance between being entertaining enough for me to want to keep watching, but not hyped enough for me to lose sleep. so even 6/10 anime has merits that if all anime were 10/10 we would have
Hot take some of chinese donghuas and manhwas are underrated in both entertainment and art and fights plus effects. You get very invested if you find the right one.
I feel like I need to rewatch Princess Tutu properly. I only watched the abridge series of it here in YT way wayyy back. But, honestly~ Even if it was an abridge version really enjoyed the show. The final act definitely caught my young mind off guard XD
@@sweetmeloday5935 Yes, you should. When I initially saw the poster of Princess tutu, I was like "dafuq is this sh*t?" Came in with an open mind, and watched few episodes, and eventually enjoyed the show. I think I still like Madoka more, but Princess tutu is definitely up there, close to its level in my opinion.
I honestly have to agree with Ludwig about Naruto up to a certain point. It genuinely took me about 4 attempts to get past the first ten or so episodes of Naruto and even then, didn't feel like I truly enjoyed the show until about the Chunin exams.
Index anime (especially s3) aren't as bad as people thought they were. The major plot points was done beautifully and the only bad parts was a slightly worse quality than railgun and even then it's not shit.
@pitifulboyrottenboy1479 I can't say for sure because I mostly read old books. There is certainly a shift towards appealing to niches (make the story around the niche) instead of having niches as an organic part of the story. Movies for example are pretty good nowadays. Once you escape from Hollywood movies, you will realise that there's actually a pretty healthy amount of new unique movies, this comes from someone that won't watch anything post 2005. Games are also doing better than ever considering the indie scene. Again books I have no idea about new releases.
@@gaarakabuto1 If you're looking for fantasy/action books that aren't just about tropes, would highly recommend Green Bone Saga. Granted the first book of the trilogy came out in late 2017, but since you said you mostly read old books I'm assuming this doesn't fall under that category.
@@TF_NowWithExtraCharacters Yeah I mostly read stuff of classical literature or within the spectrum of existentialism. In terms of fantasy I would guess books are doing quite nice nowadays too.
25:20 My perfect example of an entire anime premise being only a few episodes is the anime Hyouka. It's a detective/high school anime where each arc is a mystery the students have to solve. the main premise, back story of female mc and even the name of the anime itself is explained and solved in the first 4-5 episodes of a 22 episode show. Each arc/mystery afterwards just goes down in quality and have no direct relevance to the characters, in fact I would compared them to filler arcs.
The worst tournament arc is in Seven Deadly Sins. They barely even have tournament matches before the whole thing breaks down. Check that, make it plural.
I bloody love a tournament arc, training arc, or any combination/approximation of the two. If a story gets too invested in a single fight, I get bored, but give me multiple shorter ones with different combatants and I'm hooked. Naruto's Chujin Exams and later the team trying to stop Sasuke from leaving, YuYu Hakusho's Dark Tournament arc, MHA has a tonne of them, the final third of One Piece's Alabasta arc is basically a tournament, and they're all great!
My hot take: JJK is objectively a bad story, with a few good ideas hidden within. Aside from the few exceptions, the story makes numerous nonsensical twists, with characters eating the idiot ball just so they can die, to things they absolutely should not have died to. It outright insults the readers/watchers, by "killing" a character, then kinda-sorta telling us that they aren't quite dead, and then not mentioning them again for over a hundred chapters, only for them to show up at the 11th hour to solve a huge problem, with literally no forewarning. Its approach to big fights is also borderline nonsensical, with new abilities and moves pulled out of the author's ass with no preamble, of which the fight with Sukuna towards the end of the manga is the biggest perpetrator. Flashback to show plan. The plan fails. Flashback to show new plan. The plan fails. Flashback to show a third plan. The plan fails. Rinse and fucking repeat 10 times. The animation is really the only good thing about it, and most everything else is just bad...
I think this is really just a final arc issue I haven’t read the manga but for the 2 seasons of the anime i don’t really notice these problems. For the final arc I’ve seen spoilers and can say that I’ve seen these issues with what I’ve seen of the final arc. Idk if these problems are in the manga before that point.
1. What characters died by doing something stupid? The deaths make as much sense as any other shonen imo. 2. Saying that it's insulting to leave a character's status unknown is a reach, that's also the least offensive scenario. Do you want the series to tell you that they are dead and then bring them back with no explanation? 3. What new abilities and moves were pulled out of the author's ass other than in the final fight? I can't name any times this happens other than the final fight with Sukuna, and it only really starts after Sukuna kills Gojo. JJK fights are really good at introducing skills and then using them in different ways. In Gojo vs Sukuna we see Domain amplification, RCT, simple domain, falling blossom emotion, mahoraga and black flash, all techniques that were shown earlier in the story. 4. Just the animation? Not the choreography, abilities or music? You don't think those aspects are good when it comes to the fights? 5. Also basically everything you're complaining about happens in the final fight. Your hot take pertains to the exception, not the overall story. I will say that the story is really basic but the fights are great
Agree, the fights and animation carried this anime. Other than that, story went downhill quick after shibuya arc. And another hot take. Demon slayer is much better than jjk. Having a linear story and crazy animations. The better turn off your brain anime.
im only 5 min in and still watching, but Garnt probably hasn't watched OG Naruto in a long time (because why would he). after a very recent rewatch, i also originally underestimated how many flashbacks are jammed back to back in even the canon episodes. generally speaking, there are also a ton of empty panning background shots that are weirdly long, and even the way everyone talks feels slow and oddly paced. probably the best way to sum it up is even though each episode is 20-ish min, so little actually happens in an episode.
Hell no HxH is mid with garbage characters and wasted story potential. Side characters were more interesting than the MC and we hardly got to see them at all. Meruem carried HxH
Csm takes the seinen route while dandadan has shoujo elements. Battle shonen doesn't stand on its own the older you get, but it's called shnen for a reason
Which is completely fine, that's how cinema works sometimes and that's a tool that some of the most popular movies went for. Star wars used audio spectacle, titan visual, avatar both etc. etc. I don't see any issue with a movie using such tools to convey a message or a feeling if I'd be completely honest.
I do think it's a fair take. It's like listening to a song on a radio/spotify vs listening at a concert. The vibe is different and makes the experience much better. My example is Avengers Endgame. You have to be there at the time. Everyone was hyped and talking about it and when that "Avengers Assemble" or "I am Ironman" scene happen you can feel the energy of the crowd and makes the show much better.
@@bojo7667 But then, one could argue the quality of a movie shouldn't be situational, it should still hold even if you watch it at home, and the rest is just artifice. It's one thing if you come out of a movie theater like "This was a 9/10, what a great movie" and someone else buys the Blu-Ray and watches it at home and they're like "It was probably better in theater, but I understand why my friend said this is a 9/10", versus a situation where the person watching it at home is like "Huh? That's it? That's the 9/10 movie?" Overwhelming spectacle is not bad in and of itself, but I prefer things that have enough depth to be watchable in other contexts. (I did still think that Kimi no Na wa was solid, for the record, even watching it at home; idk what that tweet was cooking)
The problem with MHA is i genuinely don't like any of the characters as much as i like the characters in JJK. So when people talk about needing more downtime etc. I just think 'yeah but i don't really like deku nearly as much as Yuji despite that lack of downtime'
Even if we got more time with MHA characters, they would still lack depth. That’s said, MHA Vigilantes did a much better job of making interesting characters and fleshing them out. Overall it was a much better story and didn’t leave me super unsatisfied or frustrated like the main series did.
I feel MHA could've been cut down heavily. I can't remember if it's season 2 or 3 where Deku learns how to KICK for the first time, it just feels like there's so much fluff in between any real progression happening.
two sports anime came out during autumn 2016 and i vastly preferred keijo. unironically such a funny and creative show. gate of bootylon forever goated
I think he definitely have some good points but some time i fell like he is defending very hard eg rent a girlfriend that show has no development not positive nor negative comparing to Muskan Se, which has development I think Grant has fried his brain by watching too much anime bro is fumbling I also have seen this live stream and he defending one piece like crazy and saying that you can read manga is the dumbest take if you are asking for anime hot takes. Both are different and should not compare equally everything has to be judged equally on there own
My issue with a lot of anime is that they're stupid which is why I prefer the goofy ones like Konosuba because they embrace that stupidity. I just can't stand bad scripts, inconsistencies, massive plot holes and such when a story clearly wants to be taken seriously.

I had to stop after dressrosa. It just never ends
except naruto also has a ton of bloat and padding within the cannon episodes
@@Jorem_K My advice if you wanna continue, just skip dressrosa and wano cause two of them are too dragging. I like whole cake island more than those two combine.

"This character won a fight because of the plot" no shit, the power system clearly shows why he won this fight but because you didn't like it, it's just "bad plot armor" because you didn't understand the power system of the show.

Highschool of the dead is a very nice anime, I remember when it was airing but the sad thing is the creator of the series passed away a long time ago because of a health complication but the art style is still going strong in the series "Triage X" cuz the creator of triage x is the same guy that helped out with the art work of highschool of the dead.

can't believe I've been tricked into watching a scripted ad about afk arena twice now, what the hell man
The shonen downtime thing, in film language, is sometimes called a "pillow shot". But because of One Piece, my friends and I call them Boat Episodes, cus it's the episodes where the crew hardly leave the boat - and they're great.
I love those episodes of one. I think we need more of that currently
@ if luffy confirmed my headcannon that the heat from gear second was specifically to counter kuzan I’d fucking scream
I enjoyed when Arale beat up vegeta because I love that they can take the piss out of such a serious character once in a while.
Chibi Vegeta is pretty funny in Daima- last ep he beat up some punks in a cyberpunk nightclub, not your typical DBZ battle arena lol. BTW will we ever get a US release/stream of Dr. Slump/Arale-Chan?
Absolutely hilarious that when the topic of “Mid Anime” comes up, Tokyo Ghoul is displayed.

If I was a kind of person who chooses anime based on MAL score of 8 and higher, I would not have watched those four masterpieces and it would be really sad :-(
yeah like my fav anime is Evangelion (8.55/10 on MAL btw) but i can totally 100% understand if it's not your type

My god some of these takes are just people trying to be funny. Like "GET IT GUYS? THE JOKE IS PORNNN. MY HOT TAKE IS THIS PORN IS GOOD!"
For the last part, I agree and the anime can actually enhance the manga like with Bocchi the rock.
Great to hear from Dee again after all these years
"If you combine the downtime and character writing of MHA with the fight choreography and pure hype of JJK and demon slayer you would have the greatest fkin modern anime ever made"

“This isn’t a plot. This is a scenario” is so funny and painfully true.
Just did my first rewatch of OG Naruto as an adult and I enjoyed it so much more than when I watched it as a kid and teenager.
Utawarerumono is the most underrated anime based on game to be made

In relevance to the last hot take, Garnt should do a top 10 best anime tournament arcs video or a top 10 worst tournament arcs video.
26:18 Gintama. Assassination Classroom. Those are two off the top of my head.
Hot take - I just generally hate studios when the first season is 24. Episodes and the next season is ten, maybe twelve

I watch anime when I'm getting ready for bed, so I love mid anime, which is the perfect balance between being entertaining enough for me to want to keep watching, but not hyped enough for me to lose sleep. so even 6/10 anime has merits that if all anime were 10/10 we would have
That... Is a good take.
I believe there is nothing wrong with having a headcannon but you should keep it to yourself .
Talking about it is fine in certain spaces but a lot of people will take their own headcanons way too serious
Explain your power to the enemies isnt bad because reader sometimes is too stupid to understand their power scaling
Also, sometimes this too is character building. Some character just do have big egos so they explain their abilities to the enemy
I gotta say the ad transitions were absolutely cinematic

I honestly have to agree with Ludwig about Naruto up to a certain point. It genuinely took me about 4 attempts to get past the first ten or so episodes of Naruto and even then, didn't feel like I truly enjoyed the show until about the Chunin exams.
Index anime (especially s3) aren't as bad as people thought they were. The major plot points was done beautifully and the only bad parts was a slightly worse quality than railgun and even then it's not shit.
Obligatory, "you've got rice on your face!"
Alright, that's all I wanted to say.
Hentai used to get creatively freaky, nowadays hentai are just a collectathlon of tags or a recolouring of an existing hentai.
Well it's hard to surpass classics like the man who NTR'd himself or the boy who loses his dick and turns into Bobby "the beast" Sapp
tbh, that also applies to most media out there, especially books. Nowadays people won't tell you about the plot but some tags and tropes in it
@pitifulboyrottenboy1479 I can't say for sure because I mostly read old books.

Demon slayer plot is better than jjk.....but jjk gets more flare due to the character design and not character writing.....
Who tf need good story and writting
We JJK fan got Aura and Chills for days 🥶🥶🥶
im only 5 min in and still watching, but Garnt probably hasn't watched OG Naruto in a long time (because why would he). after a very recent rewatch, i also originally underestimated how many flashbacks are jammed back to back in even the canon episodes. generally speaking, there are also a ton of empty panning background shots that are weirdly long, and even the way everyone talks feels slow and oddly paced. probably the best way to sum it up is even though each episode is 20-ish min, so little actually happens in an episode.
That MHA x JJK combo is HxH 🚶🏾♂️
DxD
And Chainsaw Man
Hell no HxH is mid with garbage characters and wasted story potential. Side characters were more interesting than the MC and we hardly got to see them at all. Meruem carried HxH

My brain auto-corrects "You have to see it in the theater" to "It's only good if you're overwhelmed by spectacle."
That's it? That's the 9/10 movie?"
Overwhelming spectacle is not bad in and of itself, but I prefer things that have enough depth to be watchable in other contexts.

I don't care about the video but seeing a skit of Garnt and Sydney after a while was heartwarming 😭
