Extended Vacation came out of a heated conversation I overheard at a restaurant during my first time out post-enhanced community quarantine. The song hopes to be a fair take on our current reality in the pandemic through the lenses of hardship and privilege. Track 2 of #PlayingPretendEP #ReeseLansangan
Playing Pretend in the Interim is a five-track EP of songs completed during isolation. This is both a writing experiment and an examination of the self as a human living with and for others. I wrote these songs from different perspectives and characters (an encyclopedia salesman, a long-gone celebrity, a haunting ghost...) - seeing hyper-specific experiences with borrowed eyes. It’s a combination of research, imagination, secondhand stories, histories, and things I've heard and witnessed along the way.
This EP is a way of escaping reality for a moment, allowing room for wonder and play. Enjoy your stay (and happy halloween!) 🎃👻

Not a question but I hope people who always order and have things delivered to them should listen to this, especially the rude ones and the ones who keep ordering and cancelling right after just for fun.
You gave yourself two weeks to write the tracks for the ep. ONLY TWO WEEKS. So, did anyone help you with some ideas to use for some tracks? Like how did you think of who's POVs you would use (e.g. a delivery driver for Extended Vacation and a person who loves going to malls for Mall Rats)?

i was raised to respect a janitor the same way i'd do to a CEO. i grew up saying good morning/etc too, to the guards at our school, and thank u to the tricycle drivers; and just like this song, i would like to encourage everyone to learn how to be grateful and appreciative towards the people who works for us no matter how big or small their job is.

Still here.. AGAIN AND AGAIN. I may feel now the feeling if I start my work as a Grab/Foodpanda rider. Eto yung kanta para sa mga nafafake-booking. Pero tuloy lang dahil kailangang mabuhay o may mga dapat buhayin. Kudos to the riders. Ride safe palagi and this song really looks like made for them.

The whole album is incredibly well-written, ofcourse. But if I were to rank the songs according to my liking, I’d say: Mall Rats is #1, When It Happens is #2 & #3 would be Extended Vacation ✨

Growing up, my parents taught me to greet, respect, and thanked janitors, street sweepers, vendors, tricycle & jeepney drivers even though they are just doing their jobs or I am just passing by because a smile, greetings or thank you could make their day. Being thankful and kind to them cost nothing.
