- The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) by Simon and Garfunkel cover from Radu Trofim
Well, this wasn't easy to record. I had two sessions. In general, this song is simple but some parts in my arrangement and singing are really inconsistent for me (and I have played that tune for several months already) Especially that falceto at the end. I am not a pro singer (for now) and It takes some luck to make every note right. But also I want to sing and play with feel and it is very tricky while recording yourself. You think about too much stuff to get in the right mood.
Talking about arrangement itself, I tried to make each variation sound different and dynamic. In original tune Paul plays the same pattern throughout the song and I just wanted to add something fresh at every turn. I think I achieved that goal.
I know that Paul don't like this song. It sounds too optimistic for him, maybe. But I enjoy that short and simple tune. It has good guitar parts and nice melody. Just slow down and have a moment last. Good message.

That's a great cover mate, I love this tune. Btw, that's a great microphone, do you just plug it in and it records the voice and guitar like that as default or does it have any specific settings? Sounds great. Cheers mate
Thanks!
I use Zoom H4pro. It can record with its own mic and you also can plug in your guitar and other mic (or something else).
Although, in this video, I just use the inner mic, without other channels.
It's a very professional tool.
It has settings, yes, but it's easy to use. My advice would be to record in high res WAV instead of MP3 and to turn the sensitivity of the mic as much as possible (but it shouldn't be to high, or you'll get distortions) Also, The placement of the mic MATTERS. And I added a little bit of saturation in post production. Other than that, its a very natural sound, yeah.
I would recommend to watch Josh Turner's video with his recording approach and tutorial (he uses Zoom H2) I simply copied his methods.
@@radutrofim Great, thank you so much for the info, very helpful, definitely a mic that seems interesting to buy. I've seen Josh Turner's videos and indeed they sound great, superb quality. Cheers!
