Speaking as a licensed Realtor, Wonderboy definitely has the vibe 😂
Underrated comment
Johnny cage??
Like a marvel character
Stephen helping Masvidal up immediately after punching him directly in the face perfectly sums him up as a person 😂
@dcss it just means that he's so professional no need to be mean after the fight.
@dcss At the end, Stephen catches the kick and punches him down but then the bell rings and the fight is over which is when he helped him stand up. And what this comment is trying to say is that Stephen's a humble and good person who doesnt have any hard feelings towards his opponents. He does what he does and doesnt hate the opponent because...welll why would you anyway?
Stephen is a true martial artist, not just a fighter.
Stephen is one of nicest persons in ufc ever to exist
@@lalchungnungaralte9104 why hate your opponents? Because it is Super Necessary.
How Wonderboy has ever had people boo him is a fucking mystery to me. Awesome style, super fucking good, super fucking likeable guy, great sportsmanship and putting in the work
Maybe is the fact that the second fight with Woodley was trash.
@@colindowden2182 Poor Wonderboy. He only puts out stinkers when the other fighter is known for purring out shit fights: aka Woodley and Till

Not a bone of hard feelings

exactly he’s such a nice guy
Great human being there
If wonderboy just had a bit more power he would have been unstoppable
He is unstoppable. He should have won his decision loses against Tyron and Till. 🤷🏻♂️ He should have been champ by now. And his KO loss to Pettis was a fluke.
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm he will demonstrate this at ufc 264
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm Lol how’s it a fluke he ate a super man punch luck would be him dislocating his shoulder and losing that way there’s nothing unlucky about taking a bomb straight the chin lmfao
@@hardcoreboxing4195
It’s fluke because Anthony Pettis got a lucky punch, Wonderboy was winning up until that point, Wonderboy miscalculated the distance for his check hook and if they ever fought again it would never happen ever again. 9/10 times I promise you Stephen would destroy Pettis. A fluke or lucky punch doesn’t mean what you seem to think it is. It means an unlikely occurrence in the dictionary. It is unlikely for journeyman Pettis to ever beat Stephen again.
@@BruceWayne-fj9bm Just like Rozenstruik vs Overeem that was crazy
Wonderboy beat Jorge, Jorge beat Nate Diaz, Nate Diaz beat Anthony Pettis, Anthony Pettis beat Wonderboy.
The circle of life.
Edit: the octagon of life
The Pettis win was a fluke. Thompson dominated it. But one shot can change a fight I suppose lol
@Leafy IsHere yer I get what u mean, he could fight wonderboy another 9 times tho and lose everyone. That was my point🤣. Peace🤟

Hard to not love this guy. He's humble, he epitomizes sportsmanship, he has tons of heart, and he's just super entertaining as a fighter.

@@zachdalmaso2131 "gonna take him out in a stretcher" almost a 1 to 10 ratio in strikes. BORING.
@@TBButtSmoothy That just proves that Masvidal has heart for staying in there and making it to a decision despite getting his ass kicked the entire fight. Even if we only use his fight with Wonderboy out of all of his many, many entertaining fights, that still doesn't disprove he has heart.
Meanwhile, Wonderboy getting thrown around, manhandled, and badly outwrestled for 3 full rounds against Burns and Muhammad his last two fights? BORING!😂 I guess Wonderboy is a boring fighter too, and at least I'm using two fights as a reference for that instead of just one.
Wonderboy is probably the only old school American kick boxing/ point Karate fighter in the UFC today. Love his style
Lyoto Machida had the same kinda style but was also a bjj black belt. Loved watching Machida fight but he lost his chin.
There’s this dude named Kotetsu Boku in ONE FC. Very unorthodox.
@@jjjordan3881aside from the blitzing, I don’t think they could be more different. Machida rarely went front leg with those sidekicks like Wonderboy does and Wonderboy does it a lot.
I wouldnt call him point karate style at all. Schools might participate in point fighting, but there are still karate schools that teach you how to actually fight. especially kyokushin and kempo, which are stylistically competitive in full contact matches against traditional muay thai. Most "karate" schools are just shitty mcdojo's though
@@loismylane ok but he is a point Karate style/ American kickboxer. That's his style. You look at point Karate competitions and old American Kickboxing fights, (which was called Karate then) , and you see what he does today. It's a throwback to that era

Wonderboy has always been one of my favorites. Gentleman inside and outside the ring with sick skills and a unique style to match. Doesn't play into the drama BS for views like other fighters. Epitomizes what the sport should be about. Skill and class.
It’s insane for a “distance” fighter how hard and often he comes at people. What an absolute killer.
no glove touch he werewolf🤣
Wonderboy is way underrated. He looks like he’s in his 20s fighting. He fast af. And his striking is on point. And gotta love the kicks. He’s just a great fighter. And being humble makes him even better. Can’t wait to see his next one. It’s funny he’s the nicest dude and beats everybody’s ass. lol. He’s deserves a title shot. No doubt.
Yeah he is, just wish he wasn't already 38 years old man.
I don't get why people just throws out "underrated" all the time... He's been top ten (even top five for a while) since his second ufc fight and had two shots at winning the title! How is that underrated?? (I would like to see him get the next titleshot though, but calling him underrated for no reason is just wrong)
I’d love to see him go up a class and really get some power behind those punches.
@@SnailHatan it seems like he puts his power equally throughout his body, if that makes any sense.
Fr. He looks younger than me and he's almost a decade older than me
Thompson's lateral movement is amazing. Dude looks like a Tekken character out there.
He's the Hwoarang of the ufc
@@markflorida4402 bro no hwoarang does taekwondo
His front leg side kick to the body is one of my favorite moves any ufc fighter has to throw. The precision, the timing, the speed.... it's a sexy kick. Creates space for him. Gets fighters to eventually dip and leaves it open to go up high. Just a fantastic kick that almost nobody utilizes the way he does.
Exactly. The only other person I've seen do it in the UFC is Conor
what makes it better, is unlike a front kick which is almost always souly dedicated for creating space, if you get hit by a good side kick, that shit actually hurts and will knock the wind out of you, if you can sneak a good one to the liver, you can honestly end the fight their against lower opponents.
I love how it’s literally just high level point karate. It’s like it’s straight out of a movie
The influence on point karate on Wonderboy's fighting style is so obvious man and I kinda love it. The 1-2 punch combo, the front leg side kicks, the side step to nail Masvidal in the face, all taken from point karate.
Yup, he unlocked the secret to making it work in MMA and I love watching him do it! 👏😆

@@titsbitchmcgee7502 Yeah as a Jin main I relate to that thought😂
That was beautiful
4:08 was really cool, he saw that kick coming a mile away, realized he couldn't avoid, tensed up to take it, processed the damage, then immediately went back on the attack.
I'm so glad you pointed that out, it's the smallest detail too.
Look at that movement that leads up to the attack though, cracked me up. Like 2 small jumps forward or something.
Yeah, Masvidal’s movement is probably meant to be a switch-step, but that’s not what you usually do for a lead leg low kick in open stance-too much focus on power for something that should also be speedy. And he also does it with a very skittish lack of finesse, especially without any cover for the setup. WB was definitely ready to retaliate before the kick itself even began.
@@Gear1ruslmao he moved like he was fencing good observation 😂😂😂
Wonderboy I know you’re not reading this but you are the man who sparked my interest in MMA. His technique Tuesdays always have me hyped. “Masterclass” is the best way to describe his Karate.
@Cristian I gotta say. I'd take Lyoto Machida winning by decision over Thompson. Their styles of karate clash for sure, one being a more kenpo point style and the other being Shotokan, and it would be interesting since Thompson keeps guys with a single front or side kick, but Machida I see does a similar thing but usually with a hard, snap front kick. Would be fun to see but we probably wont.
His front leg side kick is such a great deterrent. It’s honestly amazing seeing it completely halt his opponent’s opportunity to get off a nice combo
It's the jab of the kicks, just more powerful when done right
@@Rek_Rc Truth. I've given and received front leg sidekicks that genuinely made me think arms were broken even when blocked. Then I started using them in MMA and it completely changed my view of them in real life situations. They work and deserve more credit. Wonderboy is one of my favorite fighters and always will be.
@@Rek_Rc Wonderboy has the karate stance where the kicking leg is the lead. It's opposite the Muay Thai stance where the power leg is to the rear, and kicks are delivered roundhouse style
@@Defender78 there are roundhouse kicks in karate too, we call them mawashi geri

This Man is old.
At this age people start continuously losing the fight if they aren't wrestlers.

yo, his striking, dodging, footwork is just beautiful. he is one of the best karateka in MMA history. i mean, even his stance was karate's stance, not boxing stance.
Only problem with Wonderboy though is his hands. They seem to be made of glass because he keeps breaking them. Hopefully they remain fight after his fight with Burns.
@@MrDioXIII This is also an issue with the UFC's outdated and unprotective gloves, that have a propensity for causing hand injuries as well as eye pokes
