"See, that was kinda cool because I was steering it with my ass right there".
Words of true inspiration. I just started learning on my new DRZ and I also strive for supreme balancing and ass-steering skills.
Honestly the most straightforward wheelie video I've seen. Been throwing bikes around my whole life - wish there were tutorials like this back in my younger days.
One of the best DRZ wheelie tutorials, and I've seen everyone on UA-cam. Thanks man!
I've watched dozens of how to wheelie a drz videos and I gotta say this is one of the better ones I've seen. Most videos don't mention sitting back farther on the seat which was my biggest issue for quite a few months
dude...your ability to articulate technique is uncanny. You need to start a career in teaching. It doesn't matter what you teach just teach something. the human race as a whole will benefit.
Be a motorcycle teacher, for getting licences etc, lol i think that would suit you.
I feel as this helped me x10 and I haven’t even went out and tried it. Was able to gather a lot of needed info just by watching you finesse the throttle and clutch.
Man out of all the wheele videos I watched ,I got the most out of yours. Thanks bro
i've had my drz for almost 3 years now and i keep tellin myself i'll learn since i've only been able to power wheelie it up in 1st for about a second or two now. think it's time i give it a go
That was very well explained man thank you! Been trying to learn but other videos I've watched weren't really helping. I couldn't ever see the clutch play. But now I think I got it. Thanks brother!
I feel like I dont have the best clutch control and this video really helped. I mean awesome video bro makes me feel much more confident
Amazing video. I did not expect so much knowledge from this. :)
Thanks for the video and advice.
cool dude... I have a yamaha xt 350 and also love doing wheelies
great vid, thanks for posting
great video, I cant seem to clutch up in second but I think its because the rear is spinning like you said. I think I may be going to slow too because sometimes the engine bogs down and almost sounds like its knocking
Thank you so much!
1:26 Same, I can hold balance pointers all day on my 250 but am looking to get a DRZ lol.
Good video bro u should make more, make one on how to get it up in 3rd!!!
I do the same thing but when I get it up I tend to shift in the higher rpms so I'm not falling back when I shift up at slow speeds and also always cover the rear brake
Thanks man!
Great video with good shot of bars etc. Thanks man!
Cool ! 👍
hey I know its 4 years but what are the mirrors? They look cool, gonna put them on my drz :3
are you going from second gear to 3rd ? Also love the video as well! !!
Do I have to press rear brake a little bit when letting the clutch out?
Tried it, looped it as I missed the brake, bent the footpeg tab. Oops.
Will try again. 😊
add a wheelie light and carb and its a great wheelie bike
I have never done a clutch wheelie, when he pulls in the clutch hold the throttle steady or add ?
How far back do you sit on the seat?
lovely video DUDE! Really enjoyed it. Is that a stock clutch? if not, could you please tell me what it is?
I have been doing whjeelies on my Sumo CRF250L but now that i have the DRZ, i feel less confident.
thanks man, and he bike is completely stock besides jetting. I found BP most comfortable starting up a slight hill in 2nd gear going around 22 mph.
what armor you wearin brother??
Great new wheelie video! What mic you using? I have perfect BP on my grom, but on my 2014 duke 690 if I dont get it up HIGH (feels SO high on a sport bike style motorcycle) I chase them out to 50 mph which i hate doing. I will get it eventually
I start mine in 2nd gear at 11mph tried one at a standstill had it up for alil but got wobbly as shit
Great Video, but mine just wont come up,
22 mph is around 30-35 kmh, sitting back, Holding gas, clutch in more Gas and let it go. Just dosent work 😅
what everyone said is true. This is the right video. So looks like at 20mph 2and gear, you dont even need 50% throttle and dont need to fully engage then pop clutch? Kinda like 50/50 in one 'fell' swoop? 😁?
what gearing you running?
С субтитрами немного запутался... На какой передаче рекомендуется делать?
how much throttle do you give it?
i rode a drz sm the other day and i couldnt for the life of me get the wheel off the ground( it also wasnt my bike, and i didnt want to drop it) BUT ON MY 01 KX250 2 STROKE i can power wheelie all the way to 4th gear easy clutch ups in 5th .. i feel like you have to slam the throttle on the drz but maybe just takes some getting used to
Zach Marsh I k ow exactly what you mean. I was riding my friends the other day also. I know if u pop the clutch the front wheel will get up. But on a race bike you don't even need the clutch to pull a wheelie
With more skill and practice you'll be able to wheelie a scooter! It has taken me about 2-3 seasons (years) to learn how to wheelie without devoting myself to that "stunt-life".
hey! your moto it's stok, or tun?
Armor???
can i know what is the size of your rear sprocket? thank you @amish taco
How much throttle are you giving it? Im trying to get my 2nd gear clutch ups down but i cant seem to bring the wheel up... I can pop first gear wheelies all day but for some reason i cant get the wheel off the ground in second. Maybe its my clutch technique
Ill take any tips, thanks
btw im giving it a lot of gas in second... or at least it seems like it (wish i had a tachometer lol)
+Devyn Garrett sit back on the seat, and really make sure you're almost bogging it out in 2nd gear going 20 mph then give it half to 3/4 throttle and it should put the bike in the Rev band where the wheel will loft up
Hmm I wanna start practicing. I was more set on doin real slow wheelies like 5-10 mph. Do u think I should start at 22mph is it easier to keep the bike straight?
You'll never do a wheelie at 5-10 MPH without being at balance point or you'll land going 35-40 MPH which defeats the purpose. 22 MPH is based off of where the power band tends to lie on a stock DRZ in 2nd gear. You can try and do it at 10mph but it might dog out on you. Then you can try it in first to keep the speed low but now you have a short gear that can snap back and forth on you.
That shit seems so effortless. I only got about 400 miles of riding and when I slip the clutch I give it so much gas and the front wheel still barely wants to leave the ground. I have the same bike so I know it’s got the power... I weigh 230 pounds, could that be the problem?
Its hard to tell what youre missing without me there. I can say for sure my bike was pretty much stock besides a jet kit on this video so its all about the technique!
Yo dude how far from Lancaster are you?
Hey, missed your comment, you should direct message me if you want to link up if you're in the area. Lancaster has a lot of private land so the area in general isn't good for anything offroad, but the southern end towards MD about 30 minutes away is awesome, and 1 hour north is where all the coal mines are.
Check out my third gear wheelie video if you want to follow me on this journey to wheelie the bike until its dead.
subbed..great video man...i started a channel u should check it out thanks...#bikelife
Dip back a little more and slow it down.
This is old, I do now, I want to make a new video on that topic since most people don't get to that point. That is what I would consider a Wheelie Tip - Intermediate
see i need to learn to wheelie to help my off-roading or pop curbs to skip traffic im not really interested in wheelieing to wheelie i dont like attracting attention to myself shit makes me too nervous i got distro felonies and my local police department knows me way too well id get no breaks. i dont even break the law anymore man im done going to jail over dumb shit lol... well unless im skipping traffic cuz theres no cops around
Depends on your area, I wheelie a lot off road, there's no need to learn balance point except if you just want to develop a neat skill that gets you more comfortable with any bike
wheel spin = shit tires
Then simply follow my directions so that if you are running sport touring tires you can still wheelie. Im using 2cts in this video.
Finally a wheelie tutorial that points the camera towards the handlebar so I can watch the controls in slow motion.
