Some serious wizardry at 5:42-- switching sixths from major to minor with pedals, but keeping one note the same by moving the bar and pressing or releasing the pedal. Crazy stuff.
An absolute joy to hear you " Up close " Uncle Paul. I traveled near 30 hrs to hear you at the Station Inn for my 60th birthday. Thanks for being alive man, cause you made my livin` just hearing you. Pete 379.
That is a beautiful speaker I always though nothing could beat a Peavey 15in Black Widow. I had two of Pauls tuition cassettes in the 80s but I didn't know what he looked like . I first heard Paul with Mark Knofler's Notting HillBillys here in the UK on TV ( he had a ponytail back then) As soon as I heard him play I immediately knew who it was, because nobody was playing as fast and as clean at that time, then Knofler introduced him. Ive been a big fan ever since , he's a legend .
After "beaning-out" on the interwebs, trying to find a suitable replacement for a JBL D130, I found this demo, and after watching , knew that I had also found the right replacement driver. Paul does such an excellent job of explaining exactly WHAT he was looking for in a speaker, as well as playing examples to show HOW the driver works. Many other demos miss the mark in showcasing a product, but this one's spot-on. I've never been a fan of 15" speakers, but the Standel 25L15 obviously comes with one as "standard equipment". It took 3 weeks of evaluation for me to realize the old JBL was short-changing the amp in a big way. After installing a 15/12" Baffle converter and this speaker, I'm now riding off into the Sunset. My rationale was that Bob Crooks would take custom-orders on amps and use whatever driver the player desired, so I don't feel locked-into only a 15" option. Boy I'm happy I did the conversion! No "peaked" frequencies, no tubbiness, no ear-slicing aluminum dust caps, just a really musical driver that has BALANCE. All my other typical speaker choices are vintage Celestion/Fane/Jensen, (and occasionally JBL)but Eminence really gets Kudos for such a superbly musical twelve. I'm playing clean chord-melody electric Jazz thru this thing and could not be happier! The only downside- the amp must weigh most of 80lbs!! Yikes!
Eminence folks, Can we get another demo of this speaker with a 6 string guitar like a lot of the other speakers you've made demos of? Would love to hear how this works with a regular guitar.
Amazing speaker, never a fan of the 12's, just got one and ordered another yesterday! This is magic with the LW 89 and my Emmons 1965 Bolt on. Astounding! Very interesting that Paul heard the difference with the traditional ferrite heavy magnet as opposed to the Neo. I'll put up with the extra weight. Quite possible the perfect speaker for pedal steel guitar.
Very curious about using this speaker for guitar as a replacement/stand-in/upgrade? for an EVM-15L . I get the impression this speaker would do well in a Vibroverb. Any reason why it would not work?
Hey Eminence! Hope you read these comments....I have 2 questions: 1) since this speaker has a bigger magnet, would it be too heavy for the baffle on a Fender Deluxe Reverb? Would the mounting holes align?......and 2) would the depth of the speaker hit my Fender's tubes? I've heard that there might not be enough space too mount it. Please let me know, or if I should consider a separate cabinet. I'd hate to spend the extra dough....though.
Since it's 350 watts, does that mean I can plug a 135-watt Mesa Road King into one of these in an iso box, and pump it full of distorted metal awesomeness?
Gotta love how he says that he doesn't have to move his picking hand back towards the bridge for his west coast or hillbilly picking......then he does EXACTLY that every time he plays that way. Thumb pick is PAST the "Fretboard" and finger picks nearly above the pickup. Then when comping or going back to his "Normal" style, the thumb pick is about 8 frets deep into the fretboard. Practice what you preach there Paul.

Paul is incredible and certainly knows sound. Everything he said about this speaker is accurate. Thanks Paul.

The articulation between the highs and lows is amazing.
What a demo! The tone difference with same setting was awesome
I can't wait to own one of these!
Every one is getting away from twelves. I'm with Paul Franklin. Guess I'm just getting old or old fashioned. Great work sir.
Really interesting video. Lap steel looks like a hell of a difficult instrument to play.
Perfect tone.
your my hero all over again paul!
sounds great!
MASTER!!
Stunning talent + decades of experience = Paul Franklin (and a few others, including David Hartley)
Please don't put those 2 in the same league!

I second this.
He's a fucking genious. Parden my french but he continues to amaze and jaw dropping me.

I've been using one for three years and so many people are asking me "how do you get that sound", it's the Franklin 350 speaker.
keen
Super Paul!!!!
NOW that sounds great , Much better sound that the TT112 . If I ever decided to go to a 12 this would be the speaker !!
Sounds very lovely in all the ways Paul describes it. Is this speaker currently used in any guitar amp on the market?
You could install it in a guitar amp.
SO SUCESSO, LINDO SOM.
I wonder if it’s good for regular guitars or even bass
Ya think the amp might have a *little* bit to do with that sound?
And the hands ;)

Yes
Is this pf350 speaker can be use for a guitar amp and cab? For metal? Since it has a hi watts?
Is this speaker good for metal playing?
🌟
Anybody play through it with a clean fender and a 6 string?
Ok now evertone wants Pauls tone...its a little of everything folks Paul could play thru anything and sound good. Ditto Tommy White...
What amps can you use with this speaker
Now all you need is a Rains peddle steel and telonics pickup.

Yeah..you tell him how to play - you're the expert...
It's a very heavy speaker.
The only thing better than Paul Franklin is Paul Franklin and Vince Gill.
i can play like PF, i just dont want to.
And I taught Michael Jordan all his moves
