- Lüneburg (Lunenburg in English) is a town some 50km south-east of Hamburg. It was also member Hanseatic League and has the "Hansestadt" (Hanseatic Town) in its name.
We start this winter walk around Christmas at the train station east of the centre. It takes us a just a few minutes to get to the town across the Ilmenau. There in Old Lüneburg we see the old crane in the river harbor. We make a round this part with some christmas market stalls and apartment houses before we get further into the medieval old town.
There in Lüneburg several Gothic-style buildings can be seen. The market square with the city hall is busy with a christmas market that is just opening up now around noon.
We stroll around the streets, visit St. John's Church and the "Am Sande" square. Sometimes I had to backtrack a bit as it was my first visit not being sure of ways through. In the end we make it back to the train station where we started.

This was a wonderful walk around Luneburg, thank you so much! I have not been back for 50 years, and now I am too old to travel, so your wonderful film was a nostalgic stroll for me...I had hoped you would film Am Werder, where my Tante Alma lived at number 26. We spent many happy summers with her. I would recognise the house, though now it is part of a restaurant, I believe. I hope the garden is still there. Many thanks again from Bath, England.

Unforgettable memories of living with A German family in Luneburg during my Four months German Language Course at Goethe Institute ,Beautiful quiet township AmSande Rathhaus Weekend Fluss markt and weekly Farmers fresh veggies on wheels ,A chinese restaurant and Mcdonald was a big attraction City centre was full of people drinking beer and coffee many Foreign students too opportunity to develop friendships with local germans Still one friendship is continuing with me after more than four decades ,,,,

Abgerundet führt der Weg wieder zurück zum Ausgang. Da es keine Musikuntermalung gibt, konnte ich auch die Hintergrundgeräusche wahrnehmen...die leisen Auto, hie und da Gesprechsbrocken...dann wieder bellt ein kleiner Hund.
Die meisten Menschen sind wie getriebene. Ich sah nur eine Frau, die sich im Freien hinsaß und eine Zigarette rauchte.

Der Zweck und der Zwang zum Nützlichen ist auch in der Kirche zu beobachten. Nur wenige Kirchgänger sind dort aus einem zutiefst persönlichen Glaubensgefühl und einer Verbundenheit zu Gott. Kirche bedeutet heutzutage für die Mehrheit derer, die dort hingehen, nur Tradition. Ein oberflächlicher, unreflektierter Glaube an Gott kommt bei vielen hinzu und das war's. Man möchte es den Eltern gleichtun und gewisse Bräuche und Traditionen pflegen, um als Mensch noch "nützlicher" zu sein, ohne dass man überhaupt etwas davon versteht. Diejenigen, die wahrhaftig glauben, in sich gehen und reflektieren und in der Lage sind, zu entschleunigen, sind viel menschlicher als diese Nützlichkeitsdrohnen. Auch die Zigarette rauchende Frau im Freien, die vielleicht überhaupt nicht gläubig ist, ist viel menschlicher.

Immer sehr realistisch diese Stadt- Spaziergänge mit POPTRAVEL! Es ist , als wäre man selbst dort gewesen. Eben aus der Sicht eines Spaziergängers. Die Aufnahmen auch abseits der Sehenswürdigkeiten, den Strassen dahinter , machen es so authentisch.
Ich liebe Lüneburg, kann aber nicht mehr reisen. Daher finde ich diese Art der Stadtführung sehr ansprechend und einprägend. Weiter so!!!

Da derzeit weniger Reisen möglich sind, kommt bald ein zusätzlicher Kanal, wo ich Videos auch mit Untertiteln und weiteren Kamera-Perspektiven versehen werde. Infos dazu werden dann hier angekündigt, da es noch ein paar technische Fragen zu lösen gibt. Die Spaziervideos mit einer Kamera werden immer hier erscheinen, weil ich sie schon während der Reisen auf UA-cam hochladen kann - als eine Art Sicherheitskopie. Inzwischen sind über 400 Videos hier auf dem Kanal. Kommendes Jahr würde ich gern Lüneburg ein weiteres Mal besuchen. Mal sehen, wann es klappt..
