Besides Rinoa and Ultimecia look as different as day and night, even the color schemes and personalities are opposite. We know Ultimecia can take over other sorceresses that doesn't make the other sorceresses her. Rinoa, Edea, Adel, and Ultimecia are all separate people.
Only because a guidebook states that a sorceress's lifespan is the same as any other. Otherwise, the theory is rock solid--and fits in perfectly within the Squall is dead theory.
I read the theory originally from a website that's no longer around called draw-point. It had something of a 6-8 page long essay about it with pictures and such documenting each game reference point it made. I can't say that there weren't some leaps of logic made, because the sort of persuasive argument they used is the same type of argument that people who make a living out of trying to tag random civilians as the Zodiac killer---but at the same time, there are an awful lot of things that make more sense within the game with theory than without. Rock solid is probably the wrong phrase, yeah. But still man. The game has way more depth if you buy into it, and it has to do with the overarching nihilistic/pessimistic themes the game plays into. It's undeniable that the creators meant to create obvious similarities between Rinoa and Ultimacia, and that in many ways Ultimacia is the mirror reflection of everything Rinoa fears she may become. The only counter argument to that is that Rinoa has seen and felt Ultimecia as a presence in her mind and has already created impressions on what/who she is. That we don't see Ultimecia until time compression, and that like Griever, Ultimecias own form is a reflection of Rinoa's greater fear from her thoughts. And that the thing we see flailing beneath her during the final fight phase is the real form. It's the only valid counter point that I would take over the Rinoa Ultimecia theory at any rate. :]

Oh c´mon I don´t know why I see people complaining, the mod was great!!! the shooting star, the angel wings!!! the only rinoa mods I see are with Tifa´s moveset which I hate, because Tifa is my favorite character (Rinoa 2nd) and I dont want them to repeat, also I was thinking that Ultimecia was the best option, great work!!!!!!!!

Great DLC for Ultimecia. but you can still see erroneous distortions in his arms, body and neck. it kills the magic and charm ... all the other bones is perfect. mmm here Rinoa has blue eyes and the truth is that she has eye brown color. x3

Wow, someone did not even watch the video and probably read/believe in an article about a fake interview with Kitase. In the many real ones that been done with him, he clearly state he never worked on any story aside part of REDXIII in the Squaresoft days and was the Director of the event scripter team. In short, they only worked on music transition and model/sprite emotions. Nothing story related. Sry, Kitase would not lie about his work description after having done so many interviews over the last 15 years that even played on tv.... You got played by someone using the word "director" without the rest and spreaded your hatred on a unrelated video without watching it. (His real job is well described all over the web as well and the ending credits of the games...) Funny thing is, if you find the documentary about what made squaresoft a good compagny, it will be explained exactly what the idea to introduce event scripter in anime, movie and tv shows is what changed the RPG world.

I was pointing out that even with the theory being untrue a Rinoa costume would work anyway because Rinoa did get possessed at a couple points 4. It's not "as clear as Squall being Laguna's son" that they are the same person. All the "evidence" amounts to them having inverted color schemes and Rinoa indirectly inheriting Ultimecia's power
