Pressure is on the Free Throw shooter and of it is a away game the momentum stops the crowd. The away players won't play in overtime in a away game tiring them out. Fouling with a 3 point lead does work.

I feel like I know ball kind of well but that completely trumps my mind, really confused seen Denver run the ball up down 3 with 3 seconds to go and they had a timeout left and end up shooting from nearly half court!
