Same here... Didn't expect anything, but cheesy crap... This is much, much better than the usual Melodic/Symphonic BM. I even dare to say this one of the top-100 BM projects of my homeland. [Edit: habe Deinen Namen erst nach dem Kommentieren gelesen, sonst hätte ich gleich auf Deutsch geantwortet.)
@günter hamme, actually there is one divine song that was composed by nargaroth; "seven tears are flowing to the river", but otherwise he is pretty bad (Frühling, Black Metal ist Krieg, etc.), but this one song makes him worth to be mentioned. there are very vew songs as good and as black as "seven tears..." one of them would be "Black Eternal Winds" by Judas Iscariot or "My dreams of 8" by Satanic Warmaster, but the problem with the latter song is, that it may sound perfect but it's text is just embarassing, so good music like nargaroths "seven tears..." is extremely rare, and there is no band who has ever made two songs as great as this. This album here is pretty solid, it's ok to listen to, but I guess it's nothing eternal.
666 Switzerland Black MetalHead Germany has been on my top 3 Black Metal Countries since 2003/2004, however, using Nargaroth as an example means you're missing the true black gems. Go check Lunar Aurora, Mortuary Temple, Forgotten Spell, Grabnebelfürsten, Nocte Obducta, Schattenheer, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Graupel, Mortus Infradaemoni, and the list goes on. Nargaroth is in the floor compared to any of them, they had to use "mayhem killed burzum" to get fame, otherwise they would've been less known than the examples I just gave.
günter hamme I don't know the musicians, I know their music. Fags or not, that's little to no relevant when the music is good and has been for so long. I can say the same about Anorexia Nervosa as an easy equivalent example of how musicality is bigger than the artist's attitudes and preferences.

German Black Metal Bands have good songs, but you know, not really many masterpieces, I think about every 666th song is a masterpiece, I know this sounds a bit like a joke but actually it's quite accurate.
