Woodturning - segmented ancient relic bowl.

I have woodturned a lovely bowl made from mahogany and IDIGBO wood which is a really good combination. The product is made from 204 segments and it has a really beautiful feature;the holes which is quite unique and is probably my favorite creation from what i have ever made.

Very nice bowl. Good wood selection. I like the design. Excellent finish. I think the shape of the rim is a bit heavy. I didn't care for the music. Would have liked some more commentary. Still, I thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

That is a fabulous 👌 looking bowl. I have seen many intricate segmented bowls done and ot really makes me want to give one a try, which I am sure at some point in the near future I will attempt a segmented turning. Question for you, how do you come up with the designs and figure out how many of each piece and the angles to cut? Is there a segmented bowl formula and or program that these things are designed on? If so, might I get the name of it?

Hi, thanks for the complemants. I dont use computer software just the segment's angles. The design is always born in my head. I always cut extra pieces incase of an accident. I usually use 100-300 pieces.
