That's exactly what I do. I Write 5-6 episodes to go back and foreshadow the events in the later installments' events. thank you I have been contemplating the frequency of self-publishing my work.
Yeah! I jumped on the KV wagon the minute they have it to us lol... love it! What works for me was having quite a few episodes done way ahead of time so that I could better stay consistent...
100% That's a must for me. I have one completed and my newest series has 5 episodes in the bank with more to come. I like having at least 5 for a safety net if life get screwy. :) What is your KV title(s)?
Great walkthrough in how to start of my Vella empire. I am loving the Lisa series, whether you shift to publishing on Sundays or Mondays, I can't wait for the next episode.
Thank you! Yup, I pulled the trigger on Sunday releases. The next episode will come out on Monday 11/21/2022, but then they'll be coming out on Sundays starting on 11/27/2022. Strategy :)
Thank you for your insight into KV. I have the first book of a series set aside for editing and was thinking of doing some Kindle 1 hr shorts just to get my name out and build a readership. However, I have really been drawn to the KV platform and now just conducting my research to get started. I am excited now. Thank you so much. I will check out your other social media platforms and like them.
Your strategy (minus the marketing because I didn't do it) is very similar to my Wattpad story strategy back in my heyday on there! I kind of miss those days, and this plus your guide really makes me want to get on there when it's available. I should start planning a series for that soon.
Hey there. You mention not wanting to "spam" your followers on your social media feed with posts from your Vella series (in case they follow you for other reasons.) I get that, but have you considered making a FB page dedicated to your series/writing? That way you update, take polls, add other creative items for fans of the series or introduce future work. I heard that you can't include links in the author notes, but maybe you could still make a reference to it for people who would be interested in becoming a part of the page.
JM, thank you for this video! I found the "story shape" information particularly interesting, and helpful. 😀 I am just starting out, and I have been struggling with story outline and structure on the "episodic" level. This video has given me a clearer perspective! 👍
Are you thinking about putting it into a book format? I have a lot of people who have told me they want to read my story, but don't want to get into KV and tokens and reading bit by bit at a time.
I would love to watch this but I cannot listen to the same three bars of ukulele music over and over. Please take off the background music. Thanks and good luck.
Are you a Kindle Vella author? Let me know your writing tips and method that you use!
Struggling some, but trying. 😁

So interesting learning about story shapes and I love the idea of having multiple arcs in one season.
Thanks 😊
I rally just wanted to deliver multiple third acts in a short amount of time. Ha.
you are on the same strategies for writing fiction. as myself. I am a novice in fiction writing. Story shaping.

This story shape is almost identical to the movie screenplay three act structure. I recommend Save The Cat by Blake Snyder.
100% and yes! Great book!
Sub earned. So excited to get started.
Good deal! Let me know how ot goes!
JM, Thank you. I had forgotten the advice about when to make the story live. Great video. Thanks again.
No problem! Thanks for watching!

I'm having fun with it. I really enjoyed your video about the story you did with Wattpad.
I really hope KV goes international too!
Thanks for sharing your process! I've been on the fence about trying Kindle Vella and I'm thinking I may jump in.
It's certainly fun. And the community is very helpful and friendly.

This is a great idea and a lot of authors do it. It's definitely something I'm considering. Thank you!
I can’t wait for Vella to come to the UK!
Same here! I'm not sure why Amazon hasn't opened it up yet. I hope they plan to.

I have to credit Kurt Vonnegut for that one, but I'm happy it helped!
@@authorjmceli Cool! I looked into it some more. Good stuff!
I tried Vella last year with an extra-long thriller, but it did not take off for me.
Are you thinking about putting it into a book format? I have a lot of people who have told me they want to read my story, but don't want to get into KV and tokens and reading bit by bit at a time.
@@authorjmceli Ultimately, yes. I want to turn it into a series, but I'm currently wrapping up a 12 book series.
I heard Kindle Vella is only for writers in the U.S.A. - right?
Unfortunately, that's true. Hopefully, Anazon will open it up internationally at some point.
p̲r̲o̲m̲o̲s̲m̲ 😁
You don’t have to spend money to become a proofreader.

I appreciate the feedback. I've been thinking of ditching it, so this is helpful.
