Ronnie was playing when Hendry was at his peak best. O'Sullivan turned pro in 1992. Hendry won 6 world titles when Ronnie was a pro. Hendry was a far better player in those years 1992 to 1999.
O'Sullivan didn't reach one World Championship final in the 1990s. Hendry won 7 World titles in the 1990s. That's how great Hendry was. Different league.

If Ronnie is the goat how come the goat failed to stop Hendry winning 6 World titles? He would have stopped him. Ronnie didn't even get to one World Championship final in the 1990s. Jimmy White was a better player than Ronnie in the 1990s (in terms of World Championship record).

Never compare the GOAT Ronnie to anyone! Lets remember the standard Hendry had to play back when he won so many titles the only real competitors he had was Davis and White. Ronnie won most of his titles with a much stronger field with so many top players that can win it any day just to name a few Trump, Wilson, Higgins, Selby, Williams, Robertson, Allen, Murphy the list goes on and on. So in conclusion he was a great player for the opponents he had to face, did he have any of the type of opponents I mentioned he would definitely not have won much or any.

I wouldjust like to comment on the situation with 147 prize money , I think that the sponsors and promoters really do need to wake up and understand that to make a 147 it takes a lifetime of practice , finesse,skill ,total dedication and understanding of every aspect of the game to be able to make a 147 , and to offer 10k high break prize money in the UK is In my opinion an insult to professional players .
So yes I'm all for players not going for the 147 if they feel that the rewards are not in place . Sponsors take note .
Eventually the sport will be lost to china,middle east if the prize money in the UK is not upped .

I was part of the crowd yesterday and I can tell you that there were a very good number of ladies around watching and enjoying the frames. Great applauses to Saudi Arabia on this great achievement in perfectly hosting such magnitude event!

7 World titles in a decade. It took Ronnie 30 years to win 7! That means a far lower win ratio.
Stephen also made more century breaks, more 147s, won more tournaments in 10 years than Ronnie did in the same time period. It took Ronnie decades to surpass all those achievements.
But the most important fact of all is..
How come the so called goat, Ronnie O'Sullivan, failed to stop Hendry dominating snooker for eight years? (Ronnie turned pro in 92.)
So the greatest ever snooker player was magically not as great for eight years but then the greatest when Hendry lost form?
Nope, that makes no sense.
If someone was better than O'Sullivan, and *it's a historical fact Stephen Hendry was a better player,* won far more tournaments, won an amazing seven world titles in a decade, was world number one for ages - how can Ronnie O'Sullivan be the greatest ever player? It's impossible. You cannot change history.
*It's also a historical fact the players in the 1990s were better than now.* Why? Simple logic. If the players in the 1990s were far less talented, why didn't Ronnie win more events? He won the UK Championship and a few other events but he never dominated the sport. And Ronnie said he was a better player when younger. I don't think he was but regardless of my opinion if the 1990s pool of players wasn't as talented as the modern pool of players, logic dictates Ronnie should have won more. At least a few World Titles. He won nothing. Never reached a final! So it's clear the 1990s had major competition and O'Sullivan struggled. More evidence he's not the greatest.
