  • Jason with Hydrus Board Tech showing you how to repair inflatable paddle boards.
    Tools needed:
Repair kit that comes with your Hydrus Board (should come with any decent board).
Out of that repair kit you’ll need the *cement *patch material. In addition you’ll need *150-200 grit sandpaper *clamp *rubbing alcohol *masking tape *pencil and a *wooden paint stick or something to press the patch onto the board prior to clamping.
    Tips:
1.make sure to keep the patch and board completely clean from dust, or residue or and oils.
    2. Use cement as directed. For the cement that comes in the repair kit with a Hydrus board you’ll want to apply liberally to both surfaces the wait approx. 15-30 seconds before pressing together. The patch should stick to the board without being help in place at this point.
    3. Use masking tape to keep the area around the patch clean.
    4. Let the board sit approx. 36 hours before use.

Great tutorial, thanks for specifying the type of cement/glue to use. I personally round the corners of any patch, as corners can catch and eventually start to peel 🙂

Yes, very wise. Get rid of sharp edges that can be more prone to catch and peel

My board didn't come with any kind of adhesive, is there a brand you'd recommend? And how do you repair when it's the seam that popped and the entire board is deflated?

    Great vidthanks!
Question: how inflated is the board?i mean, how much psi?
I noticed the board is getting flat as you fix it.
I fixed my board but had to do it twice, 'cose it was still leaking.
I think i did it on full flat, and that could be why...
    Thanks

Hey, thanks for reaching out. Maybe do a Google search for your area. Wish I could be a bigger help, but we don't have the capacity to repair other boards. I'd be happy to give advice if you have specific questions and are trying to fix your own board otherwise, there has gotta be a shop that repairs nearby.

Hey, sorry. We can't repair other brands. Different materials and construction gets a little tricky and messy for us. Don't have the bandwidth. More than happy to give advice however. Please feel free to reach out! We are hear to help as much as we can. happy paddling.

I just found a puncture in my board, but it’s in the foam part on the top. Any tips for repairing that area of a inflatable paddle board?

    • @redwarf8118
      @redwarf8118 Рік тому +2

You would have to find the actual puncture spot underneath the foam first.
the air might leak from somewhere else through the foam.
I suggest carefully removing the foam - patch the punctured spot - then glueing the foam back on if necessary
      Hope that helps.

Hey, yeah. You'll have to carefully remove the traction pad in that area. That makes it more difficult but it's possible.
