Great information. I just returned from a guided trip in Montana and used their equipment, but noticed a huge difference when he let me use a better rod than I was used to. I even caught fish on patterns you taught me to tie. Thanks, Old Chief
Great question. It’s usually when you notice a difference in performance (not floating very well, tip starts to sink underwater while fishing etc). Or when you can see visible cracking on the fly line.
how to rate a flyline according to it's function? I have old flyine new flyline.. i just think flyline can last decades if cleaned treated and doen't look climate change burned yah know yoh?
It’s good to label your fly lines when you get them to know exactly what the function is later down the road. Totally agree, if you put in the time to take care of it, it will last longer.
@@venturesflyco check out The guppy I released the other day.. it's been tough on top 4 WT Loomis and 9 ft tippet 9 ft 5x flouro straight no knots but a nail knot to fly line wf Cortland lazer 4wt shoots nice and still good after decades

Hey! I get most of them from @freeflyapparel Super comfy. Great in the shop and on the river. 😎🤙🏽
How often should I be replacing my fly line?
