I am teaching myself using your materials, after having less than adequate experiences in classes. Your instruction is excellent, but I am confused about the sequence you teach for this move, compared to how you cue it in the "behind the scenes" video. Can you help?
Hi Christine, The cues change and evolve sometimes based on how I feel my instruction is getting across. Send me an email on what you are confused about and I will try to help clear it up. theawarenesswebsite@gmail.com Cheers
Kevin you just cleared up the move I didn't understand, thank you. On a different topic , I'm finding it difficult to find tai chi shoes in a wide width . Where did you get yours?
Hi Duane, You are welcome. Shoes have got to be the toughest thing to find the right kind. Mostly I just wear canvas deck shoes from Walmart or wherever (as you see me wear in the videos) but sometimes a flat soled sneaker if I can find something that works well. Mr. Moy had some brought in some from a company in China back in the 80's and I should have bought at least 5 pairs. I made the one pair I bought last about 20 years until they fell apart, but they were the best and I haven't found anything quite the same since. Something comfy, not too tight, flat sole (no turned up toes like walking shoes) not too thick bottoms. I have flat feet and can't handle contoured insoles so I usually take those out. You want something that gives the foot good support but also allows some flexibility for the ankle ( for the low snakes LOL) and is not too slippery on hard surface floors. I have tried all sorts so if you find something that works for you let me know. LOL Cheers
Thanks for the reply, I'll keep looking. As for the the low snakes ( being 73 getting down that low would put me in the Hospital ) I keep trying , it may happen some day before I meet my maker. LOL
I never really got this move before! Thanks for breaking it into manageable sections for us, Kevin.
I especially like your going back to the apparent close up to put all those moves together in a flow. :-)
Hi Deb,
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you are enjoying the videos.
Cheers
Kevin
Another great video. Your clear instructions and demonstrations from multiple angles are super helpful. Thanks again Kevin.
Hi Saxman,
You are very welcome.
