Sadly Chennai Airport is behind BLR and HYD airport in connectivity as they have better infrastructure,20 yrs back we are the gateway to south India and Delta Airlines commenced direct flight from US, Now Air France going to stop operations again from April, even Cathay Pacific which restarted the operations recently going to stop by October. The passenger load is almost full, don’t know why Airlines not preferring Chennai😔 @aerowanderer since you are interested in aviation need your view about Chennai airport and other service issue from airlines.
The airport user base of TN especially in the Coimbatore and Madurai regions has shifted to Bengaluru and Trivandrum/Kochi airports respectively. Because of the proximity to these airports, a sizeable population of TN prefers airports other than Chennai. Chennai's Indian clientele maybe upto Trichy in South and some parts of South AP. Also, the rate of growth of population of Chennai is lesser than both BLR and HYD.
Yep, I am getting the same doubt. MAA is capabale of handling direct flights from places like US and Australia too. Airlines like Saudia, Air Austral, ANA stopped their operations before a year and now Air France is also going to stop fheir operations. MAA has pretty good patronage for CDG. It is even capable of having daily flights to CDG. At this point, only Air India can help us.
I'm not sure why, but recently Chennai airport has been called worst airport in India by many guys. I guess this was from a poll taken by some body . That has caught on and bad marketing helps in favour of other airports. Many users put bad reviews of maa airport particularly washrooms. Been to international and domestic terminals in maa, but never had such a bad experience. Maybe immigration at arrivals a pain. But that's it. Anyway no one likes Chennai anymore it seems
I think you found a neat vantage point from the Pallavaram hill. Could hear all of the nature sounds. Awesome video. You must have got a good cam and lens setup to zoom in from the hills.
Interesting! How do you manage to capture aircraft engine sound on take off from that far away? I can see how high your view point is given the zoom length to the terminal's ceiling.

Could be close proximity to Bangalore and the infrastructure of those airports u mentioned are better. That could be the reason
