This is better than ANYTHING the Disney/ Zegler remake could ever hope to be as it pays homage to the original Grimm's story whilst remaining it's own (beauty and the) beast (as it were)
It kept closer to original story where Disney wanted toxic femininity as everything since Maleficent at least has been spinning selfishness, authoritarian, narcissism as positive traits. Toddlers are girl bosses. Women may entice a man to do things for her with him believing it was his idea the whole time. Men are eager to please and do not need to be told if you treat them with respect.
I have nothing against any of the remake adaptations of the Disney movies, they just don't garner my interest and I'm neutral about them so it doesn't matter to me. If it makes other people happy watching them, more power to them. Regardless of it, I love Kristen's Snow White and its probably my favorite version along with the 1937's original and the one from the 90's Grimm Fairy tale episode. Something that I think is really sad about the relationship between the King and Snow White is that it suffered because of Elsbeth’s mirror enchantment and they both will never know about it. Snow White will always think that her father just madly fell in love with Elsbeth to the point that he neglected her for years, putting Elsbeth first over her, and the King will think that’s true and blame himself for missing all the years of her growing up. As a kid, I never understood the mirror enchantment either
This, Hallmark's Alice in Wonderland, The Second Jungle Book, The Adventures of Pinocchio...Disney needs to realize 90's kids already got perfect live action re-tellings from different studios. They need to have a seat because they're live action remakes aren't better than what we already got to grow up with.
I love how there’s a certain doomed tragedy to Elsbeth. Of course, she is NOT a nice person which the film makes very clear from the beginning (petrifying a bunch of innocent gnomes and dwarfs for just passing by is never gonna earn good karma points) but it was inevitable that her supposed happiness was never going go last forever. She will always love herself first but that’s because she has always been by herself and her looks made people turn away from her. (And living in the middle of buttfuck nowhere doesn’t help either.) Her brother fucks off and gets himself sealed away and she cannot improve her looks, so she plays into the wicked persona until it unfortunately becomes true. She petrifies gnomes then calls them her FRIENDS because she can’t fathom someone who would genuinely want to stay with her on their own will while she’s ugly. The way she shares her joy with the frozen gnomes and even pets them on the head is messed up in a sad way. And then her brother unfortunately plays into by giving her a husband that is ENCHANTED to loving her unconditionally but insincerely. No wonder she is unbothered by the fact the king lost the mirror into his eye. why mourn something that is intangible and she never truly had. Even after she has turned beautiful, no one has ever loved her for her, not even herself. Her vanity is because she has deep-seated insecurity from living pretty much at the bottom of the ladder. So she overcompensates her fear by insisting on being the best at everything; remaining a queen, having a young and handsome prince as a partner, being the most beautiful in the world. Her brother recognises that she will always live a cyclical life (especially since I suspect she's immortal?) and cuts it off after already giving her quite a bit of leniency (poor Hector did not deserve to die, but Elsbeth got away with it because it's viewed as a slight toward her.)
Alfred his actor was in Dinotopia 😃 I met Tyron Leitso when he was filming scenes on location down at our beach in north wales I was 13 at the time my dad was helping out with the set at the time. He is really nice 👍
I remember watching this film when it first aired on the Wonderful World of Disney on tv. I really enjoyed watching this adaptation. I thought it was clever to use the dwarves portraying as the rainbow colors with the names from the days of the week.

The queen does shattered her mirror and pierces the king’s eyes with its shards similar to the mirror in the Snow Queen. Also the mirror in that story was created by a demon similar to what happened here. Also was the prince being turned into a bear a reference to Snow White and Rose Red?
when I was about 5, my grandmama told me the story of Snow white (or read it -I can't remember). To her great surprise I kept asking "why did the queen had to die ?" and later on, when I was older and did Folk Tales at University and their hidden meanings, I realised the anguish of having youth and beauty flying away and somebody else taking the "lead"...
Love this, completely forgot there was a female dwarf and a really tall one, but that was for the comedic element, not like the new one where they’ve made them all overly politically correct
Saw this as a kid, thought it was the creepiest thing I ever watched apart from _The Matrix_ 😂 Not as creepy now that I rewatch the scenes. e.g. 59:02. What a troll the mirror is 😂
I really like what they did with the Evil Queen in this one. She spent the first years of her life ugly, bitter and poor and it would make sense that she’d be that insecure & vain once she became a beautiful queen. Nothing too deep or convoluted like ‘well I was abused and Snow Whites mother’s second cousin killed my father!!!’ or whatever.
I also love that, for as ruthless as she is as a person, she’s also pretty immature and spoilt once she’s beautiful because she was then handed everything she wanted at once on a silver platter with no work on her part. She throws tantrums (Justice for Hector), throws away people she can’t bend to her will (she was gunning for the prince then turns him into a bear when he doesn’t want her) and EATS WHAT SHE THOUGHT WAS SNOW WHITE’S HEART AND TRIES TO FEED IT TO HER HUSBAND which was completely unnecessary and was just because she is PETTY AS FUCK. She’s what makes this movie fun. Every scene she’s in, she steals the spotlight from everyone else.
1- Kristin Kreuk is actually fair skinned with dark hair, while her mixed ancestry gives her an ethnically ambiguous look. overall it can be said to be a more accurate casting decision when compared to that of the Rachel Z Version. 2- this wasn't a high profile in house production by the mouse Corp. 3- probably the biggest reason is the use of the word "Remake". Whereas this one was marketed as its own original adaptation based off the story, as produced by Hallmark. The new Disney adaptation is a "Remake" of their previous film, intended as a modern replacement of said previous works, where the main star has openly stated that they have no admiration nor respect for it.
Yup, exactly. These people aren’t taking into consideration that Kristin is half Asian and her skin was made pale. So a Latina playing Snow White shouldn’t be a problem. Anya Taylor Joy, Cameron Diaz, Alexis Bledel, Sebastian Rulli, Aracely Arámbula are all pale skinned Latinos. We just have a bunch of cry babies nowadays.

One of the dwarves isn't even a dwarf, but not as bad as latest version.
It kinda makes it silly. In a way it works. He is the grumpy one despite passing for a regular person.
This is my movie I love it so much when come on channel 13
This scene gave me nightmares as a child and still pops up in my mind once in a while
Which ones?
@ when Snow White appears in the mirror and says ‘I am the fairest of them all’
@@arielleagustin8280Same here but the one where she kisses the evil queen always makes me giggle
This is my childhood 😊
Wednesday is definitely my mood 😂
So cute, magical film!
All because she was jealous of her beauty very sad.
Wow 😳 she is so beautiful in person 😮😊
I’m glad that I grew up in a time where LOVE was okay to wish for and not now where it’s “Weird - Weird”…..😢
Kristin Kreuk looks so much like Candace Glendenning here.
No, she's prettier.
@@Manuzoka1996 I think they’re both beautiful
Love this movie
Nobody remember this film?
The dwarfs were replaced by "magic people" before.
Beautiful version.
when I was about 5, my grandmama told me the story of Snow white (or read it -I can't remember). To her great surprise I kept asking "why did the queen had to die ?" and later on, when I was older and did Folk Tales at University and their hidden meanings, I realised the anguish of having youth and beauty flying away and somebody else taking the "lead"...
Kristin Kreuk is the most beautiful Snow White ever. No one comes close to her and probably never will.
Could you post snow white a tale of terror?
A unique adaptation of Grimm’s Snow White
I’m here after seeing the freak release of the Disney failed Snow White trailer 😢so upset they are ruining the Disney Princess classics 😢
I REALLY LIKED THIS SNOW WHITE ❤
Kreuk made a far better Snow White than Zegler.
Anytime, Everytime, All the time
I'd rather watch this again than the new one that came out!
Love this, completely forgot there was a female dwarf and a really tall one, but that was for the comedic element, not like the new one where they’ve made them all overly politically correct
Ugh. Don't remind me. I really hate that politically correct garbage.
59:05 this scene 😂😂
Nostaligic !!!
Saw this as a kid, thought it was the creepiest thing I ever watched apart from _The Matrix_ 😂 Not as creepy now that I rewatch the scenes. e.g. 59:02. What a troll the mirror is 😂
I loved seeing Snow’s sassy side
This is so beautiful❤✨😍 story
59:05 that caught me so off guard 💀😂
😮😂
I dont think shes even human
1:25:10 Does anyone have an interpretation for this guy's ending? Like, is he imprisoning himself?
I think he’s done with his sisters crap. And he’s gone on vaca. 😅
OMGGGGGGGGG Lana (from Smallville) as Snow White??? After 23 years I'm only discovering this now wow!!!
Better than the Disney remake 😂
O melhor de todos 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Funny how a half Chinese Snow White came and went and nobody noticed, I miss the 2000s….

*Rachel Zegler is definitely OLIVE and not Pale Porcelain White..*
*Because it wasn't done for Virtue Signaling/To be "Woke" and all that!*
She does look beautiful as snow white tho, Rachel is pretty too, but doesn't fit the character well.
Even Vera Farmiga here😍
She's the girl from Smallville 😮
Lana Lane
She looked like Angel Locsin, a famous actress in the Philippines who is very known for her beauty.
I’m here because of that garbage 2024’s brown white trailer. Kristin is much more of a snow white than rachel’s.
