A friend shared your link with me just a day before my test, I saw there were so many tricks I haven't learnt, unfortunately i failed on head checks during lane change and signaling exiting roundabout....today, after 3 weeks of my failed test...by virtue of your videos, I HAVE PASSED MY NSW DRIVING TEST.....THAAAANNNKKKKS JIMMMMMMMBOOOOOO🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Jimbo, I had my test at Blacktown today at 2.45pm and I passed first go.. ☺️ Your videos have been so invaluable and I have been watching them multiple times and that is the ONLY reason I passed first go. You are amazing! Thanks heaps. Reshma
@@shamilanaveed9885 Hi Shamila, I live in the Inner West and hence was pretty new to all roads in Blacktown. Never did any practice in Blacktown routes just booked the available slot, went and took the test. Jimbo’s videos were my saviour. I would recommend watching his videos multiple times, practice head checks, 5 seconds indicator, paying attention to hazards and most importantly be calm and collected and don’t panic. All the Best!!
Jimboooooo... What a top bloke you are. I watched your videos. I did not have any confidence but you made it easier. I got my unrestricted licence today just after 2 hr lessons on the very first go. Thanks mate. True legend ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jimbo. This is Shakib. Me and my wife, Nazia, are a big fan of your awesome videos. We both have been following you in youtube for more than a month now. Your videos helped us to improve our driving in a big way. I passed on the first go at Bankstown yesterday and my wife also passed first go at Bankstown just today. We wanna thank you from the core of our hearts for your great contribution in helping us achieve this. You rock Mate!
Hi Shakib what fantastic news that both you and your wife have passed 1STGO at Bankstown!!! So glad that my videos have helped you both out. Thanks for watching and stay safe :)
Hey Jimbo, just wanted to say how appreciative I am of your videos and how much they helped me. I passed my test first go on the 18th up in Coffs Harbour and I don't think I would have done nearly as well without your tips and advice.
Hi Jimbo, I cleared my driving test today. Your videos really helped me to clear my test. Thanks a ton. You are doing a great job by posting these videos.
Hi Jimbo, You are an absolute LEGEND. I passed my test yesterday at Rockdale at first go. It was only possible with all of your videos. Thanks and Keep up the good work. 👍
Hi Jimbo! Thank you so so much for all these videos! I passed my p’s test first go last Monday at Botany! and it’s mostly thanks to all your amazing videos. You deliver all the important info in such a clear and easy to understand way👌👌👌 and now I’m still watching your videos, now on my p’s 😂 because I would still like to improve my driving. Thank you!
Jimbo! With only a couple days left until Christmas and a last minute car-change, (thanks covid) I was nervous to do my test in a car I had never driven. I was watching your videos all the day before and it paid off because I passed first go, no stress
Hi Jimbo, I'm Rad. I'm not really from NSW. I'm from Victoria. I know the rules are a bit different but your videos helped me a lot to get a better understanding of the rules and what I should do. And I feel a lot more confident about my driving test in a month or so. I've watched all of your videos in one day.
Hi Rad great stuff that my videos are helping you out. I've had some viewers from Victoria that have been helped. If you have any questions feel free to post :)
Hey sir, passed my test FIRST GO at Richmond today! Thanks for all your helpful videos, I binge watched them / took notes of / practiced in real life all your tips! LEGEND!!
Hi Jimbo,I passed my test first go at Wetherill Park last Monday. It was raining heavily during my test but glad it was successful.I even nailed the reverse parallel parking that the officer asked.Thank you so much for all your videos. Can’t remember how many times I watched them as they are all helpful.I will continue to watch your videos and share it to my friends that will have their driving test too.Thank you so much.😊
Hey Jimbo, I've been watching your youtube videos which helped me pass my driving test yesterday - FIRST GO! Thank you for your channel and time given in helping us with tips most of our instructors have difficulty explaining - I'll be sharing with family and friends. Thanks again Jimbo
Hey Jimbo! I did my test today (22/12/20) at 8:50 AM at Gregory Hills. Luckily it’s school holiday, so no school zones. I watched all your videos the night before just to refresh what my instructor taught me or what he might forgot to teach me. Passed my test! So grateful I came across your videos! A new subscriber right here. 🙋🏻♀️
Hi Jimbo, I watched your video around 3:20am earlier this morning and just wanted to say thanks for the great tips. It was very helpful. I passed my test today first go in Inverell NSW. 🙂
Hi. You’ve been great help into me passing my test at Gregory hills. I didn’t pass my first but then I stumbled across you and passed second go with only one minor THANKS so much!
Thanks for videos. I passed my test in first go. Your videos clarified my doubts. Please make video on road positioning. Lots of people get circles on their tests for this. You're awesome :)
Hey Jimbo, does it matter what order you do your head check in regards to your normal checking to see if there's any traffic before turning? Say if I'm turning left onto a street I obviously need to make sure I'm checking that there's no cars coming before pulling out and if I'm doing a left head check too, should the left head check be before or after my normal front view checking? Do the testing officers care what order you doing things like that in?
Morning Jimbo, thank you so much for your videos. They have helped me massively because I’ve never had an instructor before. I had my test at Bankstown today and passed. All the best.
I’ve got my P’s test this Friday. It’s my 3rd attempt. I was loosing hope and I found your videos I now feel HEAPS more confident and I can’t wait to share my results with you if I pass. I’ll come back and comment if I pass on friday! Just wanted to say your videos are so educational and awesomeeee
Hi Jimbo, for the first time. went to for the test at Silverwater today but they didn’t allow me for test by telling that my car’s one wheel has bad surface .. we regularly service our car.. wheels checked last month only.. but it’s so disappointing that they didn’t allow me to give test.. they didn’t refund or reschedule the test.. we were not given any prior information about their expectations or car’s wheels..
Hi Vaishali sorry to hear that you had problem today at Silverwater. Without meaning to take sides I believe they do mention in the booking confirmation email their expectations with road worthiness of the car you bring which includes tyres. Go back and have a read of it and let me know. Not much you can do but rebook and replace the relevant tyres. Also make sure all signal and brake lights work.
Hi Jimbo, my instructor is getting me to do the left headcheck before exiting roundabouts and I told him about this but he said he knew nothing about it and dismissed me. I find it really off putting to my positioning and looking ahead at what I'm entering as I exit the roundabout along with indicating off and being in a manual aswell it's pretty hard because there's alot going on. He got me to do this even on roundabouts with 1 lane. 😐
Hello Chloe my opinion on this check is to do it on very large multi lane roundabouts. It's more of a pain of smaller 2 lane roundabouts and single lane. Certainly check the left side as you enter the roundabout but this doesn't need to be a left blindspot check within the roundabout. Testing officers do NOT mark this check.
Hi Jimbo, I love your videos. Keep it up! I want to know about painted islands and the rules about them. I've seen them around roundabouts and on lanes. I get confused while driving about what to do and what not to do. Thank you heaps for doing what you do!
Hi Uvini generally you go around islands. However if the painted island only has a single unbroken line around it then you can actually drive over it. If it has a double unbroken line around it then you must stay off it. I should do a video about them.
Hi Jimbo! I have my test tomorrow 12:50pm at Gregory Hills, I’ve been watching your videos. You’ve helped me so much I hope I pass tomorrow!! I’ll let you know the results when I finish my test! Wish me luck!!!!
@@kaylea5466 If you turn left at these ones, turn into the left lane, then change lanes into the right lane after the divider lane. There are usually parked cars in the left lane.
Thanks for this instructive video it's one skill I know I need to brush up on. I'm an older driver and in a few years will be expected to retest for my licence. Because I've lived and driven in a rural area for decades, my town/city driving skills may not be text book. Would I benefit from having a lesson say once a month or should I wait and do a whole course nearer the reassessment period ?
Hi Andrew it's really your choice. It wouldnt hurt getting some training now and you can get your self prepared. Maybe just a few lessons now and see how you go. You won't need to do Manoeuvers on your test. Also instead of doing a test at Service NSW you can arrange an accredited instructor to do your assessment instead which is less stressful.
Hi where about the route to do driving test at roseland...I know we start from the top parking lot ...then where you going? I hope you won’t mind to share the information..thank you
@@margarethasaw3546 heya! In all honesty I am not familiar with roselands. I only picked that location because that was the only one available. I just drove wherever he told me which was mostly between lakemba and roselands. Hope this helps. Good luck :)

Hi Jimbo! Thanks for all the great videos. Could you make a video about the car knowledge questions they ask right at the start of the test? I know they tell you to locate hazards, demist the windscreen etc, but I'm not exactly sure what all the questions are and I want to be confident before doing the test next month. Thank you!!!

Hey jimbo did my test on the 15th. Unfortunately, I didn't pass. I head checked for too long diverging lanes and crossed a orange and then red lights. Dang it. All well. Need to do shorter head checks. I do have to say I was trying to move lanes while the traffic was virtually rolling at 5km/h but still. Going again on the 8th Jan
Hi Jimbo Thanks for your videos . Really helping a lot in my learning journey. Can you clarify what speed is permissible while taking any 90 degree turns? I tend to slow down and turn at around 15km/hr speed 😢
Thanks for the wonderful video. I was so confused about the head checks. Different instructors have different opinions on youtube. Thanks for the clarifications. Hope this applies to Vicroads drive test as well. Further, If I am taking the Vicroads drive test in my own car, is it ok to attach blind spot mirrors (Bubble mirrors) to the two side mirrors?
Hi Nathan, examiners dont mark single lane roundabouts. If your choice to do it or not whether they are large single or small single. Also examiners dont mark the left shoulder check out of multi lane roundabouts. Its your choice whether to do it or not. I recommend you do on larger mutli lane.
Hello there Jimbo! I saw that you have mock tests done in Miranda, but I couldn't find that on your website. Do you no longer do it there? I live in Hurstville.
Quick question. How far in advance should you be in the proper lane for a turn? I know I shouldn't be in the right lane on a highway, unless overtaking or turning right... Issue is that during the test route, when I turn onto the highway I land in the right lane... It's almost 5 minutes down the highway before I need to make a right turn. Should I get into the left lane when I get onto the highway, then move to the right lane later on, when I'm closer to the turn off?
Hi Graceful. Yes very good question. You can do either. There are pros and cons. If you move into the left lane you may find it hard to get back in the right hand lane. If the speed limit is 80 or less you can legally stay in the right lane. You can get harassed a bit by other drivers if you stay in the right hand lane. I've tried both versions on lessons and have less probs getting the student to stay in the right hand lane but stay right on the speed limit. It's your choice. If the speed limit is over 80km then you have to move into the left lane.
Hey jimbo! I was wondering if you have to check your centre mirror and side mirror before you make a left or right turn or would you need to just do your head check for your blind spot? Otherwise, would you just need to check your mirrors before you indicate?
Hi Melanie's always check one or both of your mirrors before slowing to turn. This check is not marked but you do it because it's safe driving. Check the blindspot as per this video and my other headcheck video.
Hi Jimbo, this is a great videos. Doing my driving test on 5th at Gregory hills but currently living at Ingleburn so no idea about that area. By any chance do you know what route examiners follow. Few road names will be very helpful.
Hi Jimbo in your 3rd diagram, supposed the leftmost lane is a bicycle lane, do you have to enter to turn from it? The rule said you may enter so it means to me it's just optional. So can you turn left from your current lane without crossing bike lane? Similar to how you turn with the edge line on photo 2😊
Hi Bob the testing officers manual doesn't specifically mention you must move into the bike lane with the broken line section but I think it's implied. For example if that section was a bus lane then you must move into the bus lane to turn left. The other issue is, that if you don't then someone else may and they may prevent you from turning. I recommend that you move into the bike lane after check left blind spot. It's you choice.
Thanks Jimbo, what about the edge line? Do you have to go around it in your above scenario or can you cross it? As I think you are allowed to do so within 100 mm. I just always get confused with edge lines and bike lanes and there are plenty in Chatswood test area. 😂 thanks again!
@@bobz3197 Hi Bob yes you are right you can move over the edge line within 100m. The problem with so many inconsistencies does as you say cause confusion. That's probably why I prescribe one way to do each and just stick with that. Makes things simple.
Thanks Jimbo. Can I please know where is it good to look when doing the head check. Is it just to the side door window or the back door window(whith moving your head to that side), Because it confuses me out when i turn my head all the way back for head check. Thank you
Hi Batchaaus. It depends which head check The blindspot headcheck its usually looking out the rear side windows , although in some cars you can see the right side blind spot through your drivers front side window. The head movement needs to be chin to shoulder. The traffic light check is side to side through the front windscreen and side front windows.
Hi Jimbo, i have a question regarding pedestrians crossing the road NOT from a marked zebra crossing but from the side of a foothpath where there is a little walkthrough gap for crossing to the other side ( not sure what you call it). Most roads have these little gaps for pedestrians to safely cross the road. In this case do the pedestrians wait till the road is clear to cross or should the vehicles give way and stop for pedestrians waiting to cross. I hope you can understand my question.
Yes pedestrians can cross here but they are not marked crossings where drivers have to give way. So therefore the pedestrians give way to cars. However if a pedestrian did walk out you would not hit them.
Hi Jimbo, I have my test tomorrow at Botany! Thank you so much for all of your videos, they've really helped ease my nerves and make me feel more prepared for tomorrow! I was just wondering if when doing multiple lane changes in a row, do you have to indicate for 5 seconds with each lane change? or can you do the 5 second signalling and head and mirror checks, move over one lane, and do another head check and then immediately move over? or does there need to be a 5 second gap inbetween each move? Thanks so much again!
Hi Shei the5 second signal is for leaving the kerb not lane changing. To signal sufficiently for lane changing in prefer a min of 3 flashes. With changing multiple lanes you can start with the 3 flashes do mirror and Blindspot check then move to the first lane, keep signal on check mirror and blind spot again and move to the next lane. If a safe that is.

Wondering if you could clear something up for me. There is a roundabout that confuses me a bit. You start on a single lane and enter a single lane roundabout , but then you exit on to an (unmarked) double lane... So I'm unsure which lane to go into. Lane markings don't appear until a little further down the road, leading to an intersection. I understand if this is to hard to answer without a visual. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Graceful. With roundabouts going straight from single to dual you can exit in either lane. Just be clear on which one you wish to exit into and not swerve and change your mind at the last moment.
Hey Jimbo, one question. I have a panel van without windows on the back, just the left and right windows on the driving cabin. I can do a right headcheck properly, but when it comes to left headcheck I clearly can't do much. What would the assessor expect me to do? FYI the van has a special mirror on the left side with a pole that places the mirror further out. What I currently do to do a left headcheck is moving my head forward and looking at the mirror so that I can see the blind spot but not turning my head backwards cause I would just see the wall of the van. Thanks!
Hi Gonzalo certainly use your left side blindspot mirror to actually see if something is in your blindspot but still do a shoulder check on your test as well. That's my best suggestion.
Hi Jimbo, doing my DT on Wednesday at Chatswood, a course I haven't actually done with an instructor. Hi Theories for the one lane chicane you won't need to signal or head check, just slow to 25 and steer through. If there is an oncoming car that you decide to give way to, then just wait back a bit and then go when safe. For the bike lanes certainly signal and check your left blindspot prior to moving into the left lane if you are turning left.
@@raybon-bonpintano7306 They only mark the exit signal with dual lane. However if you limit yourself to dual only and ignore single lane there is a chance you will forget the dual because you are not making it habit.
Hey Jimbo, got my test at Gregory Hills tomorrow at 8:50am. For the multi laned roundabouts, headchecks are only required if turning left or right and not if just going straight right? Any other tips for the Gregory Hills test? Much appreciated!
Hi I was wondering if you can briefly go through the test paper ? Another question if you do too many movements for the reverse park is that an automatic fail?
Hi Kayla a video on the test paper is a good idea. I did do a fail item one but there more on the test paper that i could go through. With the Reverse Park you have to complete it within 6 directions. The first direction is when you start to reverse. If you are not roughly in the final position by 6 directions then you cant move any more and they mark F17 fail.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 I thought for the reverse park it was 5? I went for my test yesterday and I failed because I was really nervous and didn’t pay attention properly but as the examiner went through my paper he said that I did 6 movements and that wasn’t correct ? I did mine at Miranda btw ?
@@kaylasiachoque6462 It's 5 direction changes which equates to 6 moves. Moves 1 to 4 have no mark down. If you use 5 and 6 you score a circle minor error. If you want me to look at your test sheet more email a pic of it to thedrivingtestguynsw@outlook.com.au
Will they mark a head check if there are parked vehicles to the left of you while driving up to the turn but then at the turn there's two car spaces free to your left, because there's lots of suburban roads like this. It's enough space to fit a car to your side but feels like it won't be marked.
Hi Jimbo, I just had a question about driving around a roundabout. E.g. Do I have to signal when I am going to drive straight through the roundabout? Or do I drive straight and then signal left when leaving the roundabout?
Hi I Listen when going straight no signal when entering but when you exit use a left signal. Check this vid out ua-cam.com/video/CpqD8PJDf6Q/v-deo.html
Hi jimbo, I got my test tomorrow just a quick question, if I do end up doing a head check even where they don’t mark it, do I get marked down for that?
Hi Nick in real life on a long road where you could be overtaken checking right mirror and right blindspot might be smart. In a test the examiner would only mark it should there be a cars width of space between you and the centre line which just ain't going to happen. The space is only going to happen on wide roads and on your left side.
hey jim, had my test today and unfortunately failed, this was due to the examiner panicking as she thought a car was going to hit us when it was 50M away as I was crossing the intersection. any ideas on how to go about this, I have put in a complaint to the arms about this as I think this was a very unsafe way to do this, my instructor also thinks that this examiner, in particular, has always marked harshly. book for a months time for the 5th time. when would the best time be to take the test, I have it booked for 12:10 in corrimal
Hi Reilly sorry to hear about your incident. There is really nothing you can do. It's your word against theirs. The government will always side with their own staff. Just book it again. The fact that you have ready done 4 tests may suggest you might need some more prep. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss more.
Hey Jimbo, thanks for clarifying this with the diagrams. It's very useful. It seems ridiculous that the publication A Guide to the Driving Test conflicts with the examiner's testing manual. 2 things: 1) I'm sure different examiners may have different opinions on what constitutes a car width. e.g in the diagram at 3.33 if the car was closer to the middle, there may be enough room for a small car to come up the left. Yes I realise this could also be a road positioning error as you should keep left when turning left, however I imagine it could also lead to a head check error in that scenario. 2) in the diagram with the right turn, you mention when 'there is no island', are you thereby implying a headcheck is required when there is an island? To sum up, do you not agree that it's probably a good idea to advise your students to always check in either direction when turning? One reason being because of potential ambiguity, the other reason being developing the habit (e.g I note in your video about roundabouts you say students should always left signal when exiting a roundabout, including single lane ones which isn't required in the test). The logic being human habits... do it always and therefore you won't forget, when it's actually required and marked in the test. Thanks for reading my long-winded reply!
Hi Sean thank you for your thoughtful post. Yes there definitely are different levels of marking between examiners but i would hope as the test routes are static they have all agreed which ones need left head checks and ones that dont. In my opinion its usually the unusually wider laned roads that need it. Yes i mentioned "no island" because if it was a painted island, you would need to right head check. With a raised concrete median strip you wouldn't need it. But here is the problem with confusing the diverging part and the turning part. The diverge around the painted island isnt the "turn" its a standard diverge that always needs a head check regardless of turning. The "turn" is the part done after the diverge and if you are close to the centre then examiner wont mark a right head check even though the green book says to do it. Finally in relation to head checking every turn in comparison to left signal out of each roundabout to build habit. Its my simply my choice to teach signalling each round about because this signal is just a silly token thing that is marked. At the end of the day if you are a safe driver you dont trust these exit signals to judge when to exit. Also there are far fewer roundabouts to get this habit in relation to the amount of turns you do. I dont teach students to head check each turn because it just becomes a silly head movement tic prgrammed in and the student doesnt really look. I prefer for the student to actually assess each turn to see if there is potential for something to be there and actually check. Thanks Sean and please keep posting your thoughts.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thanks very much for the detailed response Jimbo, much appreciated. The main point about all this is that it seems to highlight some inconsistencies in the industry particularly around what their publications reflect and what the examiners are meant to check.
@@seano2176 Yes there seems to be. Also between examiners. I witnessed a test of mine pull out from the parking bay at Gregory Hills the other day and clearly signal less than 5 seconds not even close. When this student got back there was no signal error marked. If there was an independent audit of driver testing it may show up large inconsistencies. I don't want to stoke that fire though.

Hi, I have this habit of driving with a single hand on the wheel. If I do so in the test at some places instinctively is it a straight fail or it just cuts some points?
Hi Don yes if you are seen to drive with one hand you start getting minor errors. If it goes on too long then F8 (not got proper control of the car). The solution is easy. You need to keep both hands on the wheel.
What I need to do on down hill with manual car.. I’m fail today he said cause I press the clutch for going in long down hill. And little but confused when I need to pull to stop kerb and stop engine .. he said need to put on 1st gear
Hi Fandira it sounds like you got F8 (not having control of the car) when you held the clutch in for so long and just coasted along down the hill. However the testing manual does say "Clutch coasting or coasting in neutral which actually causes a loss of control". This implies that even though you held the clutch in for that long if you still had control of the car the F8 should not have been awarded. Were you in control of the car ? The second point you mention is in relation to the Kerbstop manoeuvre. Yes you have to finish in gear. However this will only score a minor error and not a big deal. Next time you go down hill leave the clutch up.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 yes he said about F8 too many times .. I dont know about that rules because I am from International license .. HI Jimbo, thanks for clarifying the head checks. My first instructor has made me an anxious and paranoid driver as I had to check every left and right turn but this made it difficult to position and steer my car correctly. Just to clarify the order of things. Is it: mirrors > signal > head check > slow down > position? And could you clarify what point in time I do the above? e.g. 100m from the turn? 2 telegraph poles away (something I heard in another video)? I'm being told I sometimes do things (e.g. head checks) too early and will fail or I'm not slowing down early enough (but I feel like I'm moving so slowly...in the test will they expect me to drive a bit slower or will I get penalised). Could you give me any tips on this? I generally do things correctly but I've become increasingly anxious as my test is 2 weeks away and ended up making a lot of mistakes in my last lesson with my new instructor (e.g. paused to give way on a left turn when I had right of way). I was feeling ready before that last lesson but now my confidence is gone and I don't know if I'll pass or be able to drive on my own. Feeling like I have a giant, confused mess for a brain :(
Hi Evelyn thank you for watching. Yes it annoys me when instructors get students to check blindspot headcheck every turn. I can always tell if I have a student that has had priors lessons with such an instructor. The order of things you posted is pretty much what I teach. It's good to do the checks and signals then slow and position the car. As far as when to do them I prefer to teach not a rigid distance back but what feels comfortable. It depends on what the speed limit is and how fast you are approaching the turn. The 100m or 2 telegraph poles sounds roughly ok to use if you want something objective. I sympathise with you re the nerves and confidence levels as you get closer to your test. Driving tests bring out the worst in these things. I would suggest keep doing Mock Tests with your instructor. Make sure these involve exiting and entering the test centre that you will use and visit the most trickier intersections that that test centre may use. Familiarity with these things will help your nerves and confidence. Please feel free to ask any questions.

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 hey Jimbo, it's me again.

Hi Lucy best of luck this Friday. Feel free to ask any questions.
Hey, Zimbo, Please make a video on massive dual lane rounabouts on the main highway road. I nearly had an accident today on the same.
Hi Rohan great suggestion :)
I’ve been told so many different things for headcheck I just do them every turn and pull out that way I know I won’t get an observation error
Testing officers do NOT mark this check.
cheers for all the videos, some great tips helped out a lot. passed first attempt at Wallsend. cheers mate 🤙🏽

Will the testing officers mark me on left indicating when exiting a roundabout?
They mark the dual lane ones in Smeaton Grange. But I recommend signal all of them.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 is that where I have to quickly switch lanes?

Hi Charitha I don't really know exact facts in relation to Vic Roads but I can't see any reason why you can't use those mirrors. They are not illegal.
What about smaller roundabouts? There seems to be a bit of confusion if you need to left signalling out and doing a left shoulder or you don’t
I did a video in Miranda. It was a one off. I only conduct mock test at Ed Park, Mac Field and Macarthur (Gregory Hills)
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 thanks so much for your help. ☺

Hi Kamrul they basically can use Smeaton Grange , around Narellan, Gledswood Hills and Camden Valley Way.
yo how’d it go
Hey buddy love your videos. I was just wondering if you need to check your blind spot when turning off a single lane roundabout ?
Hi Disown no you don't.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 amazing, thank you so much for your quick reply :) will 3 flashes be equivalent to 3 seconds?

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 thank you so much. That was seriously driving me crazy!
Awesome info. As usual
This answers a bunch of questions. Thanks
Glad I could help :)
Yo Jimbo you should consider making a video on the log book.

Will you be doing another mock driving test Jimbo?
Hi Tiarna yes I plan too. Just kind of bogged down with lessons at the moment.
Do we need left exit signal if it's a single lane small roundabouts? Or this only applies to dual o multi range lanes? Thanks.
Hi Haider all roundabout checks are explained here ua-cam.com/video/CpqD8PJDf6Q/v-deo.html. Best of luck with your test :)
If you are not sure just do the check anyway.
Please make some videos of turns while driving 🚗 🙏.
Hi jimbo, I got my test tomorrow just a quick question, if I do end up doing a head check even where they don’t mark it, do I get marked down for that?
Hi Meek no you don't.
Hi, are there always two give way signs (opposite to each other) at a four way cross road/intersection?
99.99% of the time Mitchell. However i was shown an example of a 4 way stop sign near Bankstown recently.
Hi is there any situation for a right turn that you would need to do a right headchecks? Thanks
Hi Nick in real life on a long road where you could be overtaken checking right mirror and right blindspot might be smart. In a test the examiner would only mark it should there be a cars width of space between you and the centre line which just ain't going to happen. The space is only going to happen on wide roads and on your left side.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 hi jimbo, what about roads without a center line?
@@velvia They still don't mark it but check it if you want to.
hey jim, had my test today and unfortunately failed, this was due to the examiner panicking as she thought a car was going to hit us when it was 50M away as I was crossing the intersection. any ideas on how to go about this, I have put in a complaint to the arms about this as I think this was a very unsafe way to do this, my instructor also thinks that this examiner, in particular, has always marked harshly. book for a months time for the 5th time. when would the best time be to take the test, I have it booked for 12:10 in corrimal
Do you know anything about the Hornsby route and where they would take you for that test?
Hi Frances unfortunately i am not familiar with the Hornsby test routes.
Please give me tips for right shoulder head check. I found its difficult as my car turn during right head check😢.
Practice will get you better at this. After the hundredth go you should be able to hold the steering straight while checking over your right shoulder.

Hi Jimbo. 04:06 in the middle picture. If there is bike or motorcycle either in you blind spot or oncoming soon enough which wants to go straight, do i have to give away and wait until they pass or make them wait to pass me first? just little confusion
Hi,
I have this habit of driving with a single hand on the wheel.
So I
need too leave the clutch up next time yea ? and I think he said I cant leave clutch more than 1 meter .. can You explain me the step by step when I want to turn off and turn on engine please on the kerb ..

Hi Anthony there is no official distance marked for signalling prior to turn. It's just says to signal sufficiently without confusing other traffic. (In NSW)

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 thanks!! Will I be disqualified if I let my hands off the steering wheel while I'm at a red light? I always tend to do that without my realisation and my dad hammers me about it
Hi Angela I generally encourage you to keep your hands on the wheel even stopped at lights. However the NSW testing manual only gives an F8 fail for not holding the wheel while the car is moving. So what you are doing won't be a problem on your test.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 awesome! Thanks for answering. Also, does a driving test must have a set of traffic lights to be assessed because the area i live does not have traffic lights.
